We rented this cabin so that multiple families from all different states (IN, OH, TN, GA & FL) could all get away and celebrate Christmas together. There was plenty of room to spread out and get away when you wanted to and the kitchen and tables were the perfect size to serve the large group. We had a couple issues with toilets & dishwasher and the light bulb by the hot tub was out but I sent a message to the owner and all were fixed in a couple hours!!! Owner is very nice to work with!! We would stay there again.

It was huge, clean, well set up, a beautiful home. There was plenty of room for everyone in our party and the second kitchen was really a bonus. The only thing I would suggest is putting TVs in the masters. We had a wonderful time!

Great place to stay. Plenty of room. Great location to the bridge and sugar hollow marina.

This place was nice, it was just so used over the entire summer that it seemed quite rough. Beds, not comfortable, dented and the extremely cheap sheets came off the bed several times each night. Normally you have hand soap, and dawn in kitchen, dishwasher tablets etc, but nothing given this time. Hot hub was not very clean but we emptied it and re-filled, because it did have chlorine., ten we could use it. Maybe for the younger crowd, this would have been ok. This is not the first time we came down, so it was a bit frustrating. We survived but it's not a place i would go back to.

Family and friends for a little retreat at the lake and the home was perfect! A great place to visit and make memories. The home was clean and well kept and large enough that you could have a little privacy as well. John is a responsive and wonderful host that was easy to reach. Will definitely be on my list for another visit with a large group.

Slice of Heaven truly lives up to it's name. We had 15 in our group, 8 of which were children. Plenty of space for all. Well equipped and never ran out of hot water! So much to do. Had great weather. One issue, but owner was quick to respond. Hope to be back next year!!

Renting the property was very easy. There were only things that concerned us. The first is that there were a wasp nest somewhere in the kitchen. We had 2 children who were highly allergic. One of our non-allergic children was stung.They kept coming out in intervals. We killed about 13. The manager couldn’t send anyone over because of the weekend. The other problem was that during holidays, there are not enough trash cans. And you can’t leave trash in the kitchen nicely stacked. Overall we had a great time. We will rent through this manager again! Thanks

Nice place for everyone to stay and visit. Mountainous terrain with stairs, Stairs and MORE STAIRS!!!! We all worked out our legs! Overall, it was a GREAT time in a good cabin. Thanks so much!!

Just came back from a Great week at Norris Lake with the family! Our house was the perfect size for the 24 people we had come along (ranging in ages from 9 months to 75). The beds were comfy... There were 2 kitchens... and plenty of space for everyone to get together. I would suggest bringing some extra dish towels from home. There was only one set in each kitchen . There are also 99 stairs from the top level, where everyone gathers, to the dock. Be sure to keep that in mind too, but overall it was an AWESOME place to stay!!

It’s a nice place to stay

This place was amazing ! Plenty of room for our large gathering. The weather cooperated too. 70° in December ! We loved the fire pit and the hot tub.

The size and location was perfect. The owner was very easy to communicate with.

Good experience overall, the owner was very responsive to all our questions and very helpful during our stay.

Fantastic spot- my family of 6 stayed here with my sisters family of 6 plus our mother. More than enough space for everyone. Beds were very comfortable. Great, detailed instructions beforehand from the owner. No problems came up while at the property. I just recommended this house to a friend of mine- we had a great time.

Slice of Heaven was perfect for our extended family vacation. The spacious home allowed the perfect mix of family time and privacy. Would definitely recommend.

The chalet was great in size however we were very disappointed in the cleanliness making our stay very uncomfortable. The chalet needs a lot of upgrades, maintenance and attention to detail. I am a big believer in, if they are cutting corners in what you can see right in front of you, what are they doing with what you cannot see ie: laundry, cleaning, water in hot tub etc.... Examples: I have pictures that can be forwarded if needed. *No HOT Water for 3 days *Excessive mold in showers, mold coming out of all bathroom faucets. Making you have to use bottle water to brush your teeth. *Bathroom sinks backing up making it hard to use. After 3 days this was fixed. *Mold coming out of jets in the hot tub. Making it hard for us parents with kids crying wanting to use the hot tub. *Entire chalet smells damp and musty. We had to leave and go buy tart warmers to mask the smell. *The kitchens are fully stocked however, we did not have a single pan that could accommodate more than 2 eggs. If a chalet sleeps 28 people, the idea is that you are cooking in bulk. We did contact the owner and he did send larger pots and pans which was very nice. But this wasn't discovered until after we tried making our first meal. I would think a property manager would keep track of this stuff similar to chalet companies in Gatlinburg do. *Dishwasher had mold/food in bottom. Making us feel the dishes weren't clean. Was not draining properly. Once the guy came to fix the hot water he did fix this. *Overall upkeep is lacking, bathroom toilet paper holders broken off cabinets, doors are all marked up and FILTHY. Upper back porch is filled with nests, and filthy. Over all, we travel and book often with VRBO, we are not trying to sound like complainers but feel like maybe the owner is not made aware of the upkeep of his property. When staying away from home, even when Lakeside, you still want to feel at home, at the very least comfortable. We assumed this Chalet would be just like all Chalets we have stayed at in Gatlinburg etc. We would not even sit on the furniture on the lower 2 levels without sheets on them. Overall we were very disappointed. We did end up checking out a day early.

It would have been nice if the bedding was made before we arrived

The house was exactly what we needed for our large family reunion. We were all amazed at the beauty of the cabin! We loved having different levels for us all to spread out. Loved the view. Plenty of space and it was wonderful having two kitchens! Only a few negatives that can easily be fixed. First, we were dealing with wasps inside the cabin on the top floor. We never figured out where they were comong from, but there is a nest in the windows/walls somewhere. A couple things need fixing: master bedroom door on 2nd floor (the one with the bathroom) - door sticks and doesn't lock. One of the blinds on the top floor needs to be fixed as it can't be pulled up. Overall, it was an amazing place and we would love to come back!

This place was beautiful! It was the perfect view and tons of space.

John was very responsive to our question(s). The house was wonderful! A few things need fixed/replaced but the overall stay was great. We had one incident that the gate code was changed (break-in in one of the homes) and we had to wait a few hours before getting the new code. I loved the "security" of the gated community. The driving directions were spot on! Very helpful and correct down to the last turn! I can say our "First Cousin's Trip" was a success! Thanks for your hospitality John! I would definitely stay here again.

The cabin is beautiful, extremely spacious, and overall accomodating. The view is spectacular. My immediate family had the entire second level that included: 2 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, kitchen and balcony. Each floor was equipped similarly. The only issues were there's absolutely no cell service in the area, the nearby cabins are too close--compromising privacy, and the original requirement to make our own beds upon arrival. I was exhausted and felt that the expectation was unacceptable. After informing John about my displeasure with this, he sent someone over to make all 14 beds. I was very very appreciative. So as long as I can enter the cabin without having to make 14 beds, I'd rent it again.

John does a great job of providing plenty of information with plenty of advanced notice for his vacationers. The place is very clean, comfortable, and well stocked with kitchen amenities. This year we noticed a convenient addition of important info posted inside of picture frames at the top of the stairs which was quite useful. Another small suggestion for making this place even better would be to add some larger drinking glasses. Most of the cups are not large enough to fit a full can of soda. The one negative point from this years' trip was a brief (~1hr), unannounced time of lost power and loud construction noises at about 8:30am in the morning. It would have been great to be able to plan ahead for this as we were woken up by the noise and then all cooking options and fridge access were put on hold until we got power back. In the grand scheme of things, this is really rather minor, but still would have been nice to hear about ahead of time.

great home for large group, comfortable lounging and dining area on main floor, additional "dens" on 2 other levels, Wi-Fi/cable tv/ even though we rented "off season", house phone, 2nd kitchen on next floor down. comfortable beds, adequate bathrooms for our group of 11. water access on property. 10 minutes away from Lafollette for last minute shopping needs. Owner provided all information (directions to home, house "rules", use of hot tub, arranged to have firewood delivered at a reasonable cost, well maintained dock, some maintenance needs which I made owner aware of but overall in good condition.

This home was truly a "Slice of Heaven"! We had a group of 16, and everyone was very pleased. This was an adults only trip, but suitable for many occasions. The pictures are very accurate. Considering it was an adult trip, we traveled to "The Jumping Bridge", which was right around the corner, but still far enough away for privacy. John was beyond helpful, and very soon to respond! The list of kitchen utensils was a first for me! I've never dealt with anyone so detailed. Thanks again, John!

What can I say! This was our first time visiting Lake Norris and we had an amazing experience. John the owner was prompt with every questions I had regarding the house. John was very easy to work with and provided any and all information we needed-from directions to any items we needed to bring with us . Our cabin exceeded all of our expectations. It was literally home away from home because it was fully equipped, beds were comfortable, cable TV and internet, warm feeling throughout. We were a group of 17 and literally everybody was satisfied with the home and the location. We had an amazing experience and I could truly see myself going back. I would recommend this house to anyone going to Norris Lake. It truly was a Slice of Heaven.
