Unit was better than I expected. Unit and facilities were very nice. The views of the bay were spectacular and we enjoyed swimming and sunning at the beach. No complaints. Some of the negative reviews on this property are unwarranted and this forum seems to attract only negative comments. Owner was a pleasure to deal with.

We had a great time in St. Thomas. The view from the condo did not disappoint. The pool and beach at the property are amazing. John was a great host and was very responsive with anything we needed!

The view is beautiful and easy access to the beach and pool.

Would definitely stay there again.

The condo was very spacious, with great views and the beds were very comfortable. Sadly, the condo is under terrible management. It’s awfully outdated, the chairs, the sofa wore out and super uncomfortable. Poorly renovated, like there are no baseboards and instead you just see paint. The kitchen was disgusting. I sent them pictures of bugs in one drawer, cobwebs on another. I started cleaning and wiped dead bugs from the backsplash and even above the stove. A roach came crawling under the oven and even caught it on video. I also sent them pictures of the gross washer before and after I cleaned it. Which btw it makes a horribly noise with as little of 2 items in it. The floors hadn’t been mopped. The light in the bathroom didn’t work, but it was repaired the next day. John apologized for the cleaning I had to do and reimbursed us the cleaning fee. But sadly that doesn’t change the terrible experience we had in this condo.

The property had quite a bit of wear and tear. The lights and fans in two rooms did not work properly. As a matter of fact 2 overhead lights would turn on and off in the middle of the night. The washing machine did not work properly. Thankfully we had family in other units. We brought our clothes to them. Also, something was dropping onto the top of the stove. It looked like cornmeal. This had us concerned with bugs or rodents. I kept wiping it up but it would reappear. We never used the stove or the microwave. This condo could definitely use some extra care.

Great as always, it has been the 3rd time that we stayed at the apartment. Apt has everything that you need in your vacations. It is well located. Beds are super comfy and linens are super soft. Definitely we will come back soon.

Beds were very comfortable ,tiled floors nice, plenty of decent linens….but the entire condo needs a renovation. Furniture was very “used” and a broken chair was left at dining table.

Booking the unit was easy and John was quick to reply with any questions. However ,unit is dated and needs a refresh , a few things like base boards need replacing. Our garbarater was broken but was promptly fixed, however it should have been done before our arrival as it was known that it was broken. We also used the vehicle that the owner rented to us but it was not cleaned and had a flat tire. The tires are all in obvious need of replacing. The bbq in front of the unit worked well but a bbq on the balcony would be much nicer. The beach is nice and using the pool is very nice as well, however there is no gym as described in the complex amenities and that was missed as we enjoy a work out. There is no real place to go for walks and a gym would have been used by us. However , we did enjoy our time here but do prefer a more updated unit for our vacations and most likely will not return. The complex is central to many things on the island and a vehicle is a must to get around. It is a beautiful island with some great beaches.

Loved our condo! The description was very accurate. Take note when they tell you that there are a lot of stairs to the beach but we didn't mind the exercise at all! We loved having a bathroom with each bedroom. The beds were very comfortable! The kitchen was well stocked. We enjoyed many great cards games around the dining table in the evenings. In a few minutes, we could walk to the beach, the beach bar for a burger or the Fish Market Restaurant for an excellent dinner. The beach is perfect if you have young children. It's a protected cove and very calm. Our 4 yr old and 6 yr old Grands loved it! We saw a sea turtle two different days while snorkeling there. It's a quick drive to the ferry, marina, the grocery store, and to town. We definitely would recommend this condo to our friends looking for a great place for a family vacation.

The condo had a nice sized living room with 3 large bedrooms with private bathrooms. It had an ocean view. There were many steps to get into the condo and down to the beach. Unfortunately, the paint job tried to cover spots and moisture, but unsuccessfully. The flooring was pretty, but quite dirty. One of the bathrooms did not have baseboards. We loved Cowpet Bay West, but will choose a more updated condo next time. The owner, however, did promptly respond to emails.

Beautiful location , clean home , good amenities , decently stocked kitchen We stayed as a group of 7 [5 adults and 2 kids] , the home was sufficient for our needs . We were in there from Dec 31-Jan 6. Everything was clean . Lot of bath towels and washer and dryer in the unit helped with the constant trips to beach and pool The owner John was very responsive with the questions and concerns . He was kind enough to extend our check out as the flight was only in the evening . Couple things which was little inconvenient, but we managed around it , which is why giving a 4* rating - The entry is not keyless even though the email from VRBO mentioned that . The keyless one doesn’t work. Instead there is an actual key kept inside a number locked lock which we need to open. Its tied to the metal grill next to the main door. We reached around late evening to the place and we struggled for some 20 minutes trying to open the door. Thankfully there was a security at the gate who reached out to his supervisor and then came to help and pointed out the separate lock . Got us a little weary as it was dark and we had a long flight from mainland . Hopefully if its mentioned in the VRBO for entry , it saves the trouble. Also it would be nice to have a local phone number to reach coz internet was not great unless connected to wifi . I reached out to owner later and he provided me with the local number. - The pool passes didn’t work and we reached out to care taker and she changed it for us on the last day . We were still able to use the pool as folks let us in . I am assuming it wont be an issue for new comers as its new pass - One of the Ocean facing bedroom has no door to the restroom/ closet and also no door in the toilet /bathroom. This rendered that whole area unusable. Thankfully kids used the bedroom and they used the other 2 bathroom for their needs. A door would have been nice to have for privacy and saved up on the bathroom waiting time as we came from pool/beach together - The bedroom lights are remote controlled but they would suddenly turn on deep into night . We would manually switch them off . It was quirky as it happened almost every night . Must have to do with the settings.

This place is awesome! It has to be one of the best views in all of Cowpet Bay West. Every morning you can look over the beach and bay to a beautiful sunrise. The check in and check out process was very easy. John always has a quick response to all inquiries before and during the stay. The unit is well stocked and we did do a lot of cooking. The unit was perfect for the six of us. The beds were comfortable and roomy and we made use of the washer and dryer a lot! We would highly recommend to rent the SUV! It made our trip so much better being able to get around the island to explore all the different bays around St Thomas. The town of Red Hook was a 7 minute drive. They have a great little store called Moe's which is just like a Trader Joes! Very clean and modern. Cowpet Bay West has a great little place for casual dinning and drinks right on the beach and also a little higher scale restaurant that is very popular in St Thomas in general. Both are a minute walk from this unit! The main beach is directly in front of the unit and maybe a minute walk! There we snorkeled almost daily and saw all kind of fish in the sea grass and coral! This unit has a brand new gas grill and I am pretty sure I was the first one to grill on it! Thank you John for helping make our vacation great! We will definitely be back and use this place again!

The condo was in a perfect location and the condo layout was great for our family. The AC worked great.

My husband and I vacationed here with our Son, Daughter in Law and our 4 Grandchildren. The rental worked out great for our family of 8. The location was great! The Cowpet Beach is very close to the rental, although there are several steps to navigate if you have little ones. We could snorkel right off the beach and saw lots of different types of fish and ocean life. Loved having the two restaurants right there..very easy access for all...along with a pool bar! The Fish Market restaurant is incredible! This rental is also close to Red Hook, and lots of other great snorkeling / dive beaches....5-7 minutes drive tops! We hope to return!

The home we’ll locateds easy to find and access. One suggestion is multiple lightbulbs needed changing. Alliances worked well and loved beachwear and towels provided

We absolutely loved our stay at johns property at cowpet bay west. We needed just a few nights after a boat charter at a nearby marina. John and his team were were excellent communicators and exceptionally accommodating to our particular needs. The unit itself was clean, good AC and had great views. The property pool is amazing and the pool and beach bar had great service. I would certainly stay here again. The car rental option saved us hundreds of dollars and we were very happy for that add on.

Rented a few condos from John before heading to the BVI for a week. Perfect location to Red Hook and ferry dock. Place was clean and perfect for a group! Thanks John! We will be back!

This was our second trip to St Thomas, and it did not disappoint. The whole process of booking, checking in and out was effortless. The place was as pictured, with amazing views. Clean, and had a few added touches that really we really appreciated -the snorkel gear, maps/restaurant tips, and the collection of things like sunscreen and aloe. It had everything we needed. The location was great-just a short distance from Red Hook, where we enjoyed many wonderful dining experiences and quick shopping trips for snacks/drinks. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy this beautiful place. The Clark family.

the property is a little dated but overall was perfect for our family...size, amenities, location

Great stay at this property! Plenty of room for 6 adults. Short walk to the pool and beach. There is also a beach bar, a casual restaurant (Sangrias), and a nicer dining restaurant (Caribbean Fish Market). The walk back is a bit of a climb if you have anyone in your group with disabilities. Nice view from the condo. This is an older property, but overall in good condition. We chose not to rent a car, and had no trouble with taxi service to Red Hook and other parts of the island.

The location of the condo is perfect. You’re very close to a private beach, beach bars and restaurants. All just several steps down steep stairs. Expect to be winded each time you use those stairs if you’re not in shape. The home is clean, but there was a stinch throughout the home that smelled like old water. The other girls smelled it as well so I’m sure it just wasn’t just my nose. The beds are comfortable but the pillows not so much. They are as flat as pancakes and very, very hard. No fluff whatsoever. We had to request face towels, paper towels, and dishwasher tabs, but the property manager was very responsive to our needs. The internet went out a couple times but was fine once we reset the Linksys. There is no place on property to dispose of trash bags, but Brittany was very helpful to tote them away for us. She’s super sweet and friendly. Overall we had a nice 6 day stay. I would just suggest better bed pillows, air fresheners, and at least two extra paper towel rolls.

Great location - loved being close to Red Hook and the beaches on east side of the island. Overall a great stay!

Everything was seamless including renting a vehicle from the property owner. Leftovers from previous renters and the owner were nice. Things like a few beverages in the fridge, beach equipment, sunscreen and snorkeling gear. Great location with a non rocky beach no water shoes needed. We had a great time.

This was the perfect place for my husband, my small children being 1 and 3 and my parents! We had our privacy and it was so close to the beach. The hosts were easy to communicate with and they were so helpful

We were a group of 5 girls traveling from Texas celebrating 2 30th birthdays! We really enjoyed our stay at the condo. The convo could use some renovating given multiple holes in the walls and ceilings but that did not effect our stay! The beds were comfortable, the location was ideal & the Roku TVs were a nice touch when winding down at night. Cons were the temperature in the condo (it was very hot even with the air down) the wifi was very spotty, lack of basic supplies such as toilet paper, trash bags, laundry detergent. However, these small cons did not effect our stay, we were still able to enjoy ourselves. Thanks for the hospitality!

We really enjoyed our stay. It was our first time visiting St Thomas and it was an excellent experience. The condo is spacious and accommodated 8 comfortably. Any concerns or requests were handled quickly. The restaurant on property was great. We didn’t spend much time at the pool/beach area. There are nicer beaches on the island but the location of the condo was an easy drive. Close to the ferry to St. John where we spent 2 days exploring. We can’t wait to return!

We really enjoyed our vacation in St. Thomas and staying at this property. It has a great location to Red Hook and the ferries to St. John. We loved the easy access to the beach and the beach area was wonderful. It was great for children. The ocean is very calm and there are a variety of many water activities close by..

Quality older condo with amenities, beautiful view, and fast access to the beach. Pool, and good restaurants (Sangria’s casual beachside bistro and fine dining at the Caribbean Fish Market) are close walking distance. Internet was spotty but worked mostly. Washer and dryer work fine. You can shop for beach supplies and groceries at Red Hook which is a short drive. Local Taxi number is (340) 774-0428. Manager responded quickly to needs

We had a great time with family and friends during our stay here. I'd like to suggest purchasing toilet paper and paper towels because they will only supply one roll for each bathroom and kitchen. We had a an issue upon arrival with a bathroom and it was rectified. We had a broken bed that was fixed as we were checking out. However the communication was great from the host and he was kind enough to refund us our cleaning fee and gave us a late check out. We'll definitely visit again.

We had an AMAZING stay the place was just as it was in the pictures. The property is very spacious, and clean! The beach is literally not even 30 seconds away. John and the property manager were both great with answering all our questions in a timely manner. The only weird thing is the trash policy but we had a very nice taxi driver who took care of the trash for us. 10/10 will return on our next trip!
