We had a great stay at the Lake Roy cabin. From fishing to swimming we had a great time. Relaxed on the deck and in the yard. The main cabin and guest house were clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

We had a very relaxing stay at the Lake Roy Property. Adults and a teenage had a great amount of space to relax and enjoy the great weather. We brought our bikes and were able to ride to downtown Nisswa and get on the trail, it was easy access to the trail. The property was beautiful and well taken care of. The front deck is the place to be to catch some sun, listen to the trees and loons playing in the bay. Very relaxing.

Main house and Casita were clean, well organized and comfortable. Outstanding view of the lake.

The owner Tim was great to work with and responsive to any questions we had. Enjoyed the quiet lake, paddle boards and canoe. Hope to return again next year!

Wonderful experience with a fantastic host and amenities that you would expect only in a major metropolitan area. I would recommend it to family, friends, and/or anyone else interested in vacationing in Brainerd.

This cabin was even better than expected! It was perfect for a multi-generational long weekend away from the cities. The main cabin was more than enough space for my spouse and I and our 1 year old (also very child-friendly!), and the guest bunk was a great way for grandma to have some quiet, relaxing space to herself. Both were very clean and stayed cool even on 80+ degree days. The property included everything we needed from kitchen supplies to water toys, and even a baby gate. Location was amazing, with picture perfect sunsets looking over the lake from the fire pit and a huge well kept yard for our son to crawl around in all day. It was a super quick trip into town for groceries when needed, and so many restaurants and activities within a short drive (although we hardly ever left). We definitely hope to come back and stay here every year!

We rented this for our annual summer family escape! It was absolutely delightful! All the fun on the lake, fire pit, yard for games, deck for the adults to watch the lake, and well-stocked kitchen! Thanks to Tim and his family for sharing this property!!

I can’t say enough good things about our stay at this property! Tons of space for a group/family to spread out, fun water toys and a super clean beach/lake, picturesque view of the lake and sunsets, lots of gathering space indoor and out, and absolutely everything you need to feel all the comforts of home! Tim is very accommodating and absolutely fantastic to deal with! He happened to be out of town during the early part of our stay, but he made sure we had everything we needed, and his caretaker checked in a few times to make sure everything was ok too. There is a nearby grocery store, gas station, and liquor store, among all of the other nearby restaurants and activities. Our group ranged from 4 years old up to 63, and EVERYONE had a blast! We all wished we had more time to spend there, and we would absolutely go back!

Had a great time with the family up in Nisswa! This cabin was everything we were looking for. Down by the dock the water is shallow enough for the kids to walk around and play in the water and it’s so clear! We caught fish off the dock and out on the lake. There is a sand bar not too far away that we went to each day to hang out. Cabin was very cute and was a perfect size for our family. We had 6 adults and two kids. We used the guest house as well.

We had some great family time. Enjoyed this private option and beautiful area.

Great cabin and location. We had a good time catching sunnies and enjoying the quiet evenings by the fire. The guest cabin came in really handy for our family so we had plenty of room. There were 5 adults, 3 teens and 3 babies that stayed here for a mom/girls trip. The cabin had everything we needed along with a great deck facing the lake for the beautiful fall weather on Friday. Location is great being close to Nisswa and Baxter for shopping and eating out. Owner gave us a late check out to extend our short weekend on Sunday for a small fee… perfect ending to a great weekend to be lazy a Sunday morning . Fix breakfast and more visiting . We would recommend this place. Plenty of room with the guest cabin for this many needing beds. Nancy M

We found it easily, and loved the views and house. We didn't want to mess up the guest house and all wanted to stay in the house (7) of us. We doubled up in the beds. but we found we had to spit up next night as we had a couple of us who had no sleep due to snores. :( so it was so nice to have the guest house. We played games and went shopping in Nissaw. We came back and had a fire it was a perfect night for fire. Almost a full moon. Saw a couple deer and bunnies. It really was a good time just wish the time wouldn't go so fast. I would definitely recommend this VRBO. The owner was always available to answer any questions. Great place. :)

We had a great stay over the last weekend and thought the home was clean, as described and a great value! Appreciated the ample kitchen supplies and seasonings for breakfasts and dinners. Nearby to some great golf courses. Would stay here again!

Our family stayed at this lovely spot for a family wedding in Nisswa. It was very convenient & comfortable for our extended family which included one infant. The owners do a nice job of maintaining the houses & we had lots of fun! Thankyou!

We chose this property because of the location on lower Roy Lake. It’s a great property, incredibly clean with plenty of places to sleep. The bunkhouse is fantastic and Tim the property owner made us feel right at home. The whole process was very simple. Highly recommend.

The location exceeded our expectations which were already high. The views from the deck and fire pit are stunning. Not to mention all the fun our family had at the dock and swim platform. Tim was very responsive and super easy to work with. Highly recommend.

Our stay at this cabin was wonderful. The cabin exceeded expectations and provided something for everything. We had 7 adults and two kids(ages 2&4). Cabin provided all the comforts of home with the added luxury of being on the Gull Lake Chain. Our two sons fished for hours on the dock and caught sunnies and bass at all times of the day. Also nice being so close to Nisswa downtown and Grandview Lodge is walking distance which provides a whole slew of activities to partake in. This property provided everything you could ask for in an up north cabin getaway. Wouldn’t hesitate to rent this cabin again.

This beautiful cabin setting was great for all eight of us; from my 13 year old great niece to my 97 year old father. We spent time on the deck, grilled chicken and brats, made s’mores in the fire pit, and spent a lot of time on the water in the canoe, kayak, paddle board and paddle boat. One of the most relaxing, enjoyable vacations I can remember.

We recently spent a week at this beautiful cabin on Roy Lake. Our family absolutely loved it and had so much fun. Tim was great to rent from. He messaged me a couple times just to make sure we had everything we needed and to see if we had any questions. We would definitely stay here again. This was our 3rd year renting a cabin through VRBO in the Nisswa area and this cabin was by far the nicest one we have stayed at.

The cabin was super clean. The location was beautiful. Tucked in a wooded section of Brainerd on Roy Lake within minutes of Grandview. Deer visited us each evening as we sat on the deck. Highly recommended. We will return.

This place rocks! It was clean, on the water, fantastic location and the communication with the property manager was top notch. Highly recommend.

Really enjoyed our time here. The guest house made things so convenient for our family. Great deck that faces out to the water, enjoyed coffee there each morning. Will be back for sure.

Great family friendly spot with a lot to do for all ages. We used the kayak each night and caught bass and northern right in the bay. Enjoyed beautiful sunsets and dinner on the porch overlooking the lake. Less than a mile from Grandview! We will be back for sure!

Our family of five including my daughter and fiance had a great 4 nights. We loved the place and hope to go back again sometime. Enjoyed the feel of seclusion, the great view of the lake. We used all the water toys and had fires two of the nights. The place is just as it's listed. The lake is great for kayaking. We brought two of our own and then used the one provided along with the canoe.

To start off, one of the main reasons for the 5 Star review is due to owner Tim Buerman and his incredibly quick, helpful and accommodating responses to all of our inquiries and questions. Especially with the global covid-19 pandemic still going on, he was very open to providing a refund if we did not feel comfortable staying there. This was a vacation / surprise Birthday party for my wife and included her children and their families, so 10 of us in all. The cabin & guest cabin worked out perfect for the 2 families with smaller children and also for the downtime needed for their naps, our granddaughter has Cystic Fibrosis and the guest cabin was perfect for her to do the twice a day vest treatments. The A/C in both cabins was very comfortable, as were the beds. The code door locking and unlocking worked well, and was convenient for not having to carry a key or work a lockbox. There was plenty of room for the morning and evening cooking duties, we were close enough to Nisswa and had pizza & wings delivered from Rafferty's Pizza and that worked out excellent!! The deck was also a very nice feature for our group of 10 and we all had plenty of chairs, tables and umbrellas for the sun. The views to the lake were amazing and access down to the lake and dock was easy for us and the 2 benches were nice to sit on while the kids were in the lake. The fire pit worked out excellent for our evening fires and there are PLENTY of chairs to use for the fire pit or to carry to the lake for additional seating. The swimming raft, kayak and paddle boat were huge hits with kids and adults. We rented a pontoon from Nisswa (Dave's Sportland) and towed it to a nearby public access on Roy Lake and had an amazing time on a few of the lakes in the Gull Lake chain. Overall this was a wonderful place for a lakeside vacation and with children. THANKS Tim & Destiny!!!!

We had an excellent week at a great property on the lake! Everything about the stay was great. The cabin and guest cabin provide tons of room, and the location couldn’t be better being right on Roy lake. Lastly, Tim and Destiny are great hosts. All in all it’s 5 star.
