Enjoyed my stay there for a weekend in October. The welcome email with all the details was excellent. The location, parking spot, and the in home binder with details on the area and appliances was a nice touch. The owner was very quick to respond to a question that I had. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for an upcoming trip to Asheville.

What a beautiful 1 bedroom cottage. We were able to walk to the Grove Park Inn for a wedding. Came and went into downtown Asheville several times. Three Bears (we saw 1 on the way to GPI) had everything we needed for our stay. Great selection of teas! Your parking spot is up some steps, but it was not an issue for us. Would stay here again for sure!

Fantastic quaint cottage steps away from the grove park inn. Very clean. All amenities there including a bear walking across the front porch! A great weekend . Craig was very responsive and always available if needed. Would love to return.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2-night stay at Three Bears Cottage. Having central HVAC in a 1913 structure was an unexpected luxury, and the cottage was stocked with all sorts of amenities not often found in a rental. For example, high-quality kitchen knives, an outdoor gas grill and full array of grilling implements, 2 portable fans, assorted English teas and good quality silverware. Also, you can expect concierge service. If you have a question or need anything, a VRBO or text message to Craig will be answered quickly, and usually right away. Although there is no view of the mountains, the location on a wooded hillside overlooking Grove Park is idyllic. It is only a 7-minute walk to the historic Omni Grove Park Inn. The private, one-vehicle parking pad is convenient, up a short flight of stone steps from the front door. (Backing in to the parking space is a good idea. Cedar trees block your view of traffic when pulling out.)

Lovely neighborhood. Literally 5 minute walk to Grove Park Inn. Very well equipped. Quaint cottage. There are steps from parking to cottage if mobility is an issue.

The cottage is truly exquisite, it looks like something straight out of a magazine. It was clean and smelled great! The linens were high end and fresh. We arrived around 6:30 pm. Within 5 minutes of bringing our things inside a black bear walked right past the cottage! By the time I found my camera, the bear had already made it to the top of the steps. I didn’t get a good picture, but it was an exciting start to our 3 day vacay. That night, we walked to The Omni Grove hotel, only a half mile from the cottage. We listened to a gentleman play a couple of upbeat songs on a piano, then took our drinks outside to explore the courtyard. We strolled down the steps to the golf course and then back up to the center to have our picture taken in front of the waterfall. The next day we hiked Pisgaw mountain, about a 35 minute drive from the cottage. Our pamphlet described the hike as a moderate 1 to 2 hour hike which was true for us. We visited a couple of breweries afterward and ended up at an outdoor concert downtown for the rest of the night. The next day we played golf at the Omni Grove Golf Resort. You don’t have to be a guest at the hotel to play the course. Must do! The course is gorgeous and has the most amazing views. After golf, we visited another brewery and then the botanical gardens. We finally made it back to the cottage and found a well placed bench at the top of the waterfall where we discussed our plans to come back as soon as possible!

The VRBO listing is very accurate. My wife and I found the Three Bears Cottage to be very clean, a comfortable bed, and a complimentary bottle of wine. We found the neighborhood to be quiet, especially during the evening. Not being familiar with Asheville, I was a little concerned about the distance to downtown. The property is actually a very short drive to downtown and is surrounded by restaurants and grocery store(s) if needed. We both loved our stay and when visiting Asheville again, I will see if this gem is available. Oh, the property hosts were what I want as well - there to answer any questions and otherwise transparent. One note to those that drive a large SUV - the provided parking pad may be a tight fit for you. We drove a smaller SUV and had no issues but a 7-passenger SUV may have an issue.

I’ve stayed in many places and this one ranks as number 1. It is perfect in every way for 2, no amenity was overlooked. The pictures very accurately describe this oasis, close to everything Asheville. Actually had the most unexpected guests pop in one morning, mama bear and 2 cubs.

We were celebrating our48 Anniversary . We had a delightful time on the mountains & enjoyed the privacy of the cottage .

My husband and I needed some rest and relaxation and this cottage delivered. The property is incredibly charming. The location could not be better, close to restaurants and of course the Grove Park Inn. The small kitchenette, TV, comfortable bed and forest like feel was just perfect for us. We will definitely be back!

A beautiful spot, as advertised - cozy, quiet and convenient. Neighborhood is beautiful and it’s a short walk to the Grove Park for sunset viewing. The cottage is just about perfect, although the shower head is relatively low, which might be an issue if you are over 6’ (water pressure is a bit on the gentle side also). Other points that might be relevant for some — there are quite a few steps down to the cottage from the parking space on Macon, and the parking space itself is small, which could be an issue if you are driving a full-size SUV or other large vehicle. For us, it was just right (though we did not see any bears).

We had a wonderful stay at Three Bears. It is literally a short walk to the Grove Park Inn and is convenient to downtown and the surrounding Asheville area. The accommodations were clean, comfortable and we would definitely stay again! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

I highly recommend staying at the Cottage. I was there alone and felt very safe and cozy. The description and pictures of the place are very accurate. The beauty of the place and the wonderful location made even a very rainy day feel good. Everything about the place created a perfect setting for my “personal retreat”.

This place was so beautiful. I loved all the windows and the fountain. It was very peaceful. It was very clean and had everything we needed. I loved that there was pretty much any option you could think of on the TV. The location was great too. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

This was the perfect location for my husband and I to enjoy a weekend away. Cute cabin, easy parking, and close access to many Asheville activities! We would stay here again and recommend to anyone traveling. Hosts were great and communicative!

We had an amazing time. Location of property was ideal to all things in Asheville. The property lived up to its name “Three Bears Cottage,” as we saw three bears while staying there. The property was clean, updated while maintaining its historic charm, and it was equipped with all basic needs. We will stay again!

Three Bears Cottage was a great place to stay for our anniversary weekend! I would say not to bring a bigger truck because the parking space is tight, but we made it work. We loved our stay and would definitely return.

Wow,WOw,WOW and did I mention WOW!!! The pictures online do not do this place justice... Wine ,soft sheets and a very soft bed and I thought I was going to miss my new sleep number bed. The only bad thing about this place was our 4 days lasted 5 minutes.

We loved our stay at the Three Bears Cottage. The cottage was super inviting, very nicely furnished, and the hosts even provided a bottle of wine from the Biltmore winery for our stay and coffee and tea for the morning. The seating area on the porch was a great place to have coffee and enjoy the tremendous fall weather and listen to the water running in the small waterfall adjacent to the property. The bed was super comfortable, the bathroom fully appointed with really nice soaps and shampoos and a hair dryer and very nice towels. Best part was that the neighborhood was walkable and it was also a short walk to the wedding we were attending at the Omni Grove Park hotel. Highly recommended!

We loved this cottage, which had lots of charm and upscale amenities. The place was basically clean but there was dust and dirt under the bed (maybe we’re too fussy?). Great location close to everything Asheville has to offer. We’ll definitely return!

We had a lovely time staying at Three Bears Cottage. It was so quaint and Craig and his wife have really thought about all the little details to make our stay wonderful. We also loved the location as it was a quick drive to everywhere we wanted to go. We highly recommend this to others and would love to come back again.

This is a very attractive comfortable and efficient space, in a fabulous neighborhood adjacent to the Grove Park Inn. The place was furnished in simple good taste, including some special decorative built-in storage. The kitchen was minimal, but functional, permitting the preparation of simple meals. And, yes, there are bears there: we saw five, a solo and a momma with four cubs trailing after her, right outside the window!

The cottage its self and the outdoor patio are fabulous. But I would caution or make aware to everyone that there are a lot of steps going down to the cottage and that is something to be aware of especially for Seniors or ladies . Don’t try to haul a heavy suitcase down those stairs!

Located in an upscale neighborhood, this cozy cottage is the perfect get away! My husband and I stayed for a few days in June and it was lovely. Walking distance to delicious restaurants. Bed was a bit soft for me but I have a bad back and prefer a firmer mattress, but my husband slept fine. Cottage is clean and well stocked. We enjoyed our stay!

Would go back again!
