Great views, wonderful property, many amenities.

Home is definitely everything it's advertised as, roomy, comfy, out door living and great for family or friend gathering. Views and location is also a big plus. Donnie is definitely a great host!

The tranquility and peacefulness the place gives you! It’s a vibe! The stars at night at breath taking! Love it over all!

This house was everything promised and more. Our group of 12 had a wonderful time . Plenty of room and beautiful views. Would definitely recommend.

We had a great time at this house. It was spacious and very beautiful. There was plenty of supplies, toilet paper, soaps and shampoos, plenty of pillows and blankets..etc. I loved that it gave a cabin in the woods vibe. My kids loved making smores at the fire pit. Plus, the house stayed nice and cold! The only thing I would recommend is to cut the grass, it was a little long. Other than that, we had fun and that's what it was all about!

We had a group of 14 and this place provided nice comfort when we weren't busy around the lake. It was easy to get to and was just as shown in the listing!

We had a fun and relaxing time celebrating our parents 50th anniversary! There was plenty of room for 6 adults, 5 kids and 2 small dogs. The location was beautiful and scenic. We saw lots of deer and also a grey fox! The kids loved seeing and exploring the property. We would definitely go back.

Great property with amazing well furnished decks. Inside is very comfortable with many sleeping spaces and bathrooms. Very good kitchen. Very responsive hosts. Would stay there again.

We couldn't stay at the house due to winter storm damage to the water pipes. But Donnie reimbursed us, and even forwarded a package that we had sent to the house to our new address.

The property has a very nice view of Canyon Lake and the sunsets were a real highlight. The property is great for a large group. There’s plenty of bed space (4 BR, 3 BA with good sofas and at least one sofa sleeper), a full kitchen, dining area, living room and outdoor grill. Televisions and Wifi worked very well. The deck is tremendous and deer are around in the mornings and evenings. It’s very easy to walk to Canyon Lake were there’s a nearby campground and boat ramp. The nearest small town (Hancock?) is just 5 miles away. All in all we’re very glad we made this trip and enjoyed roadtrips to Wimberley, Gruene and New Braunfels.

We planned this trip to relieve some stress and have a fun and positive trip for my family and it was a success! The lake house was beautiful and the location was great. We saw a heard of deers as soon as we got there and I t was such a nice welcome. It is so quiet and peaceful at night and everything you need is provided for you as well. I definitely recommend it for anyone who needs to get away from the city or just needs a peaceful getaway. Thank you!

The kids (and the adults) loved feeding the deer! This was a great location - lovely views, fantastic patio, lots of blankets for crisp fall nights, and convenient to hiking I. Guadeloupe River State Park. This was exactly what we needed - a family oriented retreat!

The whole family stayed here for 3 nights. We enjoyed the stay thoroughly. Wished we could spend a longer time here. Loved the place! Very cozy and well designed, highly recommended.

My family and I stayed here, and brought out boat. We dropped in at Canyon Lake boat ramp #21 about 2 miles away during the day, and relaxed at the house at night. Our kids were able to feed the deer, and we had plenty of parking for our boat. House was well kept and Donnie communicated with us easily and quickly. The house was perfect and the views were awesome. We made Smores at night, the A/C was cold, and the beds were comfortable: Amazing stay!

Property was perfect for a big group of people. We had 12 people and never felt crowded, so much space inside and out. Would most definitely book this place again

This place is amazing with a perfect view. Close to Gruene and Guadalupe for tubing. You won’t be disappointed and owners are super friendly.

We booked a family boating weekend with our grown adult kids and grandchildren at Donnie and Janna’s beautifully decorated log cabin. The floor plan has more than ample sleeping arrangements, 3 full bathrooms and plenty of room to hang around in. We took full advantage of the wrap around deck and 2nd story deck with gorgeous views of the lake. Every morning my grandchildren would sprinkle the deer corn that the owners left for us and we had bucks, female deer and baby deer walking right up to us in the backyard and the front driveway. We even had a few foxes laying in the horizon hoping for some handouts too. All in all we had a fabulous time and hoped to come come back again next summer!

Thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay at this wonderful property. Close to the lake, river, and the view is stunning. Hope to be back soon.

Everyone liked the property within the first five minutes of coming on the house wrap a round deck. It was so nice having several different sitting areas so family age groups and genders could have their own activities. The large and many windows in the house really made the outdoor viewing so relaxing watching the deer and other animals roam outdoors . What a special place.

This was our first time in Hill Country and this house made it even more enjoyable. We were able to soak in the view while enjoying our meals on the patio. The fire pit was a great experience for us and the kids. If we are ever back we will definitely be back here. Thanks for allowing us to stay here.

First and foremost, thank-you SO much for allowing our family of 9 to have your lovely home! We felt so comfy and enjoyed the peace & quite this beautiful place afforded us. It was the perfect setting for our family reunion. We enjoyed the outdoors on the pretty days, lounging on the decks, hanging out at the fire pit and walking to the lake. We LOVED visiting with the many baby deer hanging around. On the rainy days we enjoyed being indoors playing games, watching movies, cooking, reminiscing and having lots of laughs. We cannot expresss how grateful we all are for your hospitality and extreme kindness. You literally saved us from the proverbial “hotel stay,” which would not have been half the fun we had here. Your home is well appointed, having everything we could have possibly needed and then some. Needless to say, we loved our time here and hope to return the next time we plan another family reunion. What fun it would be to return and make more great memories here. Thank-you so much for making our trip memorable!!

Our youth group and adults enjoyed the time in this cabin. The view and animals is a sight to see, especially in the morning.

We have stayed at this house for three years now with a large group. The house is equipped with everything you need as far as linens, kitchen gadgets and tons of personal touches. The owners have always been quick to respond to our questions or issues. They are very personable and perfect hosts. We have loved every visit there and hope to continue our yearly tradition at Hill Country Haus!

We had a large family gathering and stayed in this house. The bedrooms were large and we all felt we had some space to spread out. It was clean and the lake views from the second story balcony were breathe taking. Our little guys loved seeing the deer at breakfast and dinner. The kitchen was well equipped for all the cooking that we did while there for our stay. We will book this property again next year for our river weekend.

We loved this property. We held an event for a youth group from our church and it could not have been more perfect. The house is well organized, nicely decorated, fully furnished with everything needed, and the location is perfect. We brought a boat and there's a boat dock less than 2 miles away. There are deer on the property and we loved this, one of the highlights for our group. Lots of outdoor sitting areas, ping pong table, horse shoes, etc. We plan to stay here again.
