This stay was absolutely breathtaking and we never wanted to leave! It was almost like a dream. Such wonderful memories to take back to the stresses of hectic daily life. Remarkable property and experience!

My goodness, I can’t begin to say what a lovely place this is. It was quite a drive to get to (for me) but so worth it. The ocean view was absolutely extraordinary - as was the friendly care of the owners, Shelley & Richard. The cabin was charming - and the main bedroom (with a wildly comfortable bed that had the open ocean view) and opened up to the deck, was a fantasy of a spot - especially as I was healing from a recent surgery. It just doesn’t get better than that. This was one of my favorite stays of all time - and I am delighted & grateful to have found it.

The view off the deck is what got our attention and led us to book Cabin 5 On the Bluff. It did not disappoint! This is the perfect place to stay with our 2 doggies. Richard and Shelley are wonderful hosts and provided us with all we needed. There are great dog beaches close by and fully stocked grocery stores in town. The beds are beyond comfortable! Combined with the sounds of the ocean and smell of the sea breeze, the nights were incredibly soothing. We will definitely be coming back!

Cottage 5 is absolutely perfect. All you need for a scenic getaway.

We loved staying here but must warn you that so does everyone else so plan ahead to get a spot, it’s popular! Our stay was relaxing and serene, the views from every room are spectacular. The owners are warm and helpful, and the love and attention they put into Cabin 5 on the Bluff makes it a cozy stay. It was a perfect getaway.

Freakin’ LOVE the view OMG I was literally outside the whole time on the deck!!! We made smores almost every night at the fire pit and they had plenty of wood. The sauna: amazing and works well! Would definitely return!

We are so thankful to have found this little gem available for rent on our trip down to see our youngest at CPH in Arcata. We decided to make a trip out of it by flying to Sacramento, driving to Arcata for a few nights then finding a place along the coast heading back to Sacramento for a few nights on our way back to catch our flight home to Oregon. It was even better than in the pictures and we are so glad it was available for us during the days we had open. It is very homey and we loved the nautical theme accents and decor. A few in our group enjoyed the sauna, we used the fire pit one evening and we loved that both bedrooms faced out to the ocean (as did the bathroom). The beds were super comfy and listening to the surf going to sleep and waking up was MAGICAL. If you are looking in this area you don't want to pass up on this place. We hope we are able to stay here again soon! Thanks for such a great place to spend a few days.

If you are looking for a warm and cozy house with a breathtaking view this is it! We noticed that people have been visiting Cabin 5 since 1983, and can see why. We hope to return as long as Richard and Shelley keep sharing this very special place.

This place is magical. Hearing the waves all day was healing. We had a great time just relaxing and enjoying the view. Communication with the owner was prompt and helpful. I'd definitely go again.

Hands down this was the best place we’ve ever stayed! Such a romantic spot surrounded by spectacular nature! The pictures don’t make justice, you have to be there and experience this gorgeous cabin!

Upon entering, we were awestruck by the views out of every window! This quaint cabin is well worth the drive. Soooo very quiet, no planes, no trains, no boats or ships, no traffic, just the sound of waves crashing!

Over the years, I've treated myself to a birthday retreat at oceanfront homes in the Gualala area and this was by far the best. There are ocean views from almost every room in the house and you feel surrounded by the ocean. The beds are super comfy and the living room perfect for watching a movie. But, why would you want to do that when you can sit outside and gaze at the stars! Richard and Shelley were wonderful hosts. We will be back!

This property is exceptional in so many ways, from charming old world sea-faring character to stunning coastal views. Sunsets each evening which led into stargazing while gathered by the fire. Wonderful hosts who are very helpful. Looking forward to staying again!

The cabin was comfortable and the kitchen well equipped but the view was so spectacular that we never turned on the television. From the deck and the large picture windows we saw whale spouts in the distance, leaping sea lions and shore birds and the gently bobbing lights of the night-time fishing boats. The sound of the surf drowned out any noise from the highway. We hope to return some time soon. Thank you Richard and Shelley!

The owners of this property Richard and Shelley are the nicest people to work with and so accommodating. I came to town for a family wedding and asked if they had an iron and ironing board and Shelley made sure one was in the cabin. We asked if we could have a family dinner there one night and the response was no problem. We all had a wonderful time on the deck that evening and everyone was jealous of our cabin on the bluff. My niece and I were giddy when we arrived and saw the view it is just how they show it online. Beds were comfortable and we were not far from the town of Gualala. Woderful rustic cabin that you felt at home in right away.

Our stay at Cabin 5 was above expectations with the privacy and stunnng views. The home provided every comfort needed and upon arrival we were impressed with the cleanliness of the home. We were centrally located to town and several hiking trails. Communication with host was easy and clear. It was the perfect place to stay while experiencing this beautiful property.
