This is a beautiful and comfortable home and we enjoyed our stay immensely! It was literally steps from the beach. The pool was a nice bonus. Between the AC and the fans in every room, the house stayed at a comfortable temperature, even at 90 degrees outside. The porch and the swimspa were great. We loved all the decor. Duncan Realty were great to deal with, from start to finish. Thank you!!

In a nice location. For the most part, a really nice house. They are having some plumbing issues in the back bathroom. Being an older house, it doesn’t stay as cool as it should and you can’t turn the ac down under 75 per their rules. Other than that, the house is beautiful, was pretty clean, and was a nice place to spend our week.

We had a great time at this property. We are a family of 6 with small children and we loved it. Near the beach, near shopping and restaurants, quiet at night. Thank you for a wonderful time.

We stayed in this house with another family and we all loved the house. It is an older house that is updated and has a great floor plan. The large living room, dining area, and kitchen flows together well. Drinking coffee on the wrap around porch was enjoyable. The beach is just a short walk away. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance as well. We have gone south for many spring breaks in the past and this was one of our favorites.

We had a group of 8 and we had plenty of space. Easy access to the beach. We really enjoyed our stay here and will book it for our next trip to Florida.

Great place - open floor plan- plenty of room to move around and relax. Across the street is the beach. Hot tub was a bonus- family really enjoyed it- sat on the porch at night - coffee in the morning. GREAT

Loved the Marmalade Mermaid. There were a couple of issues when we arrived, but had been communicated to us prior to arrival. These were taken care of quickly and went above and beyond our satisfaction. Lovely cottage and super comfortable. Throughly enjoyed the spa pool.

Such a cute place in a perfect location. The beach was across the street. Towels and beach supplies were available. The swim spa was a bonus. Will definitely come back!

Everything through Duncan was easy from payment, to receiving the door code, and also having a binder full of useful information from when trash day was to where to eat and even how to use the tv! We had a great week right across from the beach! We’d enjoy coffee on the porch and cool off in the spa-pool. The house was perfect for us and very clean. We can’t wait to go again!

The property was exactly as described and great for the price. Location was great...right next to the beach and town.

I stayed here 3 days and it was awesome. So close to beach and shoppings my kids had so much fun. Cant wait to go there again in summer

Appreciated all the beach towels and accessories as well. Quick, easy acces to restaurants, shops, and activities. The beach was only a few steps away. The area was beautiful. The management was so good with booking and preparing us for arrival. We hope to visit again!

This place could not have better met our needs. Gorgeous inside and out...fantastic location. Right across from beautiful Bradenton Beach where we caught great sunsets for fantastic family pictures each night. Super close to the Bradenton Beach restaurants and night life...but far enough away to be relaxed and quiet. Couldn't have been better :-)-Bill-

When I rented this place, I was hoping the AC issues mentioned by other reviewers going back over a year had been resolved. Sadly, that was not the case. It is clear the AC needs to be replaced but the owners have not invested in their property. The book of instructions left for guests instructs not to set the AC below 75 or the ac will freeze. So at night the coolest the home can get is 75. Then during the day, despite whatever setting you have the AC on, the temperature steadily ticks up. By the end of the day it was 83 degrees. And this was w keeping the blinds shut and limiting foot traffic in and out of the house. And forget cooking - if you used the stove or oven the heat became much worst - up to 85 degrees. The home also does not comfortably sleep 8 As advertised as two shelf like areas is one of the rooms seem to be considered as day beds when they really are not. The fridge is on its last legs, the kitchen sink plumbing was challenging, and we had a wasp issue/infestation on the deck that had a very difficult time getting in contact w anyone regarding and had to wait over a day for assistance and were not able to use the porch for that time period. We ended up getting a new house through a different company halfway through our stay bc the house was so uncomfortable. It became clear to us the rental company was not going to do the right thing when they blamed the temperature issue on the Florida heat. We live in Florida. Our house is cool bc we have a functioning ac.

We stayed at marmalade mermaid for our 10yr wedding anniversary. We booked before covid-19 and still had a great experience with Duncan. They stayed in contact with us all through the past three months when covid travel restrictions were in place assuring us they would be flexible should we not be able to travel. The beach house itself was very clean and comfortable. Two minute walk across to the beach with a beautiful view from the wrap around front porch . The beach location itself was absolutely perfect we drove the strip and agreed we were in the best spot . The house itself was great loved that each room had its own bathroom . Dead end st with beautiful view of the Bay at the end . Trolley stop two st down (recommend taking the trolley to the end of the island and back it was great and they work on tips). Close to the small center short 10min walk or 5 min drive alot of great shops. I would definitely stay at marmalade mermaid again and again.

We were thrilled with the shabby-chic cottage. Perfect for a cozy family vacation. The decor and mermaid theme were very well done. The large family room was perfect for our big family! Short walk to beach - beach toys, chairs and umbrellas included!!

Everything was decorated very nicely and in working order. Great place for a family gathering.

In one word: outstanding! If you can stay in a beach cottage that actually looks like a beach cottage, why stay elsewhere? That's exactly what the Marmalade Mermaid is all about: a beautifully renovated house circa 1940's (just guessing) with all the modern comforts of the digital era and all the charm and details of a historic house. The owners have done an amazing job of decorating the place with charm, quirkiness, a tasteful (not cheesy) nautical theme and an eye for detail. This house has it all. The beach is just across the street and you can relax on the front porch swing and enjoy the beach view. The kitchen is modern. The 3 bathrooms are clean and up-to-date. The beds were incredibly comfortable. And our kids loved that each of their rooms had a TV! I would suggest a minor improvement: update the A/C unit or vents in the beach-facing room. It was warm throughout the day (even though we kept the blinds closed all day) and not much cooler at night. The rest of the house was perfect. Definitely coming again next year!
