First of all, we cannot compliment our host enough on the simple and elegant luxuries she set up for our arrival!! From welcome goodies to flowers. We walked in feeling so welcomed and at home. The Sideways House is an incredible home filled with historical architectural elements; however, it has all modern upgrades that do not take away from its ambiance. All bedrooms are decorated beautifully and the beds themselves are very comfortable! Lastly, you can walk into town ~ only 4 to 5 blocks away! The Perfect Day Spa in the back of the property is another perk to staying here. You will not be disappointed!

The house has been beautifully restored, but is also very comfortable. Great back yard. Kitchen is well stocked, including spices, so you can truly cook.

The house is beautiful. It has a wonderful location. The only drawback is that the backyard is the entrance to the day spa which means there is a lot of traffic and people walking through but the thoughtfulness of the host and the location and set up at the house, made it worth it.

This is a beautiful house. We loved staying there. We felt relaxed and at home. The backyard is wonderful. Sitting, listening to the pond and the bocce ball court was an added bonus. The house had everything an more than we needed. Note however, all the bedrooms are upstairs. Very clean, thank you for that 💗

House is spacious, extremely well stocked and very clean. Location is perfect for shopping in Lodi and/or wine tasting. A compliment to the hostess (Lisa), information provided to located house and combinations for gate and house were extremely easy to follow and the welcoming gifts upon arrival were very appreciated.

This home was immaculate and incredibly charming. Our group stayed here to celebrate a friends birthday and do some wine tasting. The owner, Lisa, was so kind and set out a bottle of wine, strawberries and cake. So sweet! The home is within walking distance to a few wine tasting rooms and restaurants which was perfect for us. We also took advantage of the spa next door. Booking this home gets you $20 off your service. Nice touch! Lisa considered every detail and everything we could have possibly needed was there. We stayed at the Sideways House for 4 days- traveling to Lodi from N. Idaho for our daughters wedding. We truly enjoyed our stay in this charming home. It is beautiful and close to EVERYTHING in downtown Lodi. We founds the beds comfortable and the house was spotless. The host made us feel MORE than at home, with a cake and wine waiting on the table for us- and offerings at the Spa facility next door. Both check-in and checkout were a breeze. The Sideways house is stunning! Immaculate inside and out! Every little detail is covered here, you just need to walk through the door. Comfy beds, beautiful linens, ample towels and kitchen amenities - we didn't need a thing. With temps at 100+ we were also grateful for the AC! We had an event at the Merlot in DT Lodi. The house was easily walkable to the venue and other restaurants and bars downtown. Lisa welcomed us with fresh lemon cake, strawberries and a bottle of wine. We've never been so spoiled by a host! Best VRBO experience to date!

There is absolutely nothing to complain about. Wonderful house, everything we needed plus extra was there. The owner is the kindest person! Lodi is quiet and beautiful, we went to the lake and the brewery and enjoyed both very much. After our visits to San Francisco and Sacramento it felt like coming home and the kids loved the boule outside in the garden.

This beautiful home is easy walking distance to downtown Lodi and is absolutely beautiful. It has an amazing blend of elegant decor blended with at-home comfort and relaxing ambience. Lisa is an amazing host. She makes sure your stay is welcoming and is always available for any questions.. As a retired residential real estate broker, I always appreciated the challenges of satisfying the needs of my pickiest clients. I would recommend Lisa’s house to them in a heartbeat!

I’ve stayed at a lot of short term rentals through VRBO and other websites and our entire group agreed this was the best experience and home we’d ever stayed in. It was very comfortable and all of Lisa’s personal touches were so appreciated. Would highly recommend and would absolutely stay here again in the future. We asked for a pack and play and high chair, and it saved us so much space in our luggage. Location is convenient, backyard was nice for the kids to play bocce and see the koi pond, and home was perfectly appointed.

This was a beautiful property that had everything for our family. The location was amazing with an easy walk to downtown Lodi. Our hosts were exceptional providing some local snacks and small items to entertain the kiddos. Fabulous touch! I highly recommend the property.

This is truly a "gem" of a place to stay in Lodi! Wonderfully decorated home with lots of cozy places to sit, both inside and out. Fully equipped with everything you will need or could want. Lisa was a lovely host and was available if we had questions. Would definitely stay here again!!

We had a fantastic time in Lodi overall. This house is just the best place to call home for the days we were there. A short (5 minute) walk to downtown and all of Lisa’s recommendations for dinner and wineries to visit were wonderful. Would absolutely recommend this house for anyone. Headed to Lodi!!

Beautiful well appointed home !! Just 2 blocks to downtown Lodi. It was a perfect stay. I would highly recommend the Sideways house.

This charming property is located within walking distance of downtown Lodi shops. While the kitchen and bathrooms have been recently updated, the house maintains its early 20th century charm. The kitchen is well stocked for feeding a big crew. Lisa is a fabulous host, quickly responding to messages and texts. In fact, she went over and beyond her responsibilities as a host in helping us find a second VRBO when our other booking (we had booked two homes) fell through because of maintenance issues and other rentals had already filled. The beds are comfy and the area was quiet, even though we were there during the holidays. Because all the bedrooms are upstairs, guests who can easily manage stairs will most enjoy this property. Lisa goes above and beyond with extra touches (for example, cake and flowers on arrival!) to make guests feel as if they are being welcomed by a friend, not just a random property manager.

We had a great time. I wish we could have stayed another day!

Despite having stayed at many vacation rentals, our whole party felt that our stay at the Sideways house was one of the most thoughtfully hosted. Lisa made sure every detail was taken care of, and was super responsive with a few minor questions along the way. The house had plenty of room for 7 ladies, and more than enough dishes and glasses for all of to enjoy a multiple meals and drinks together. Lodi was unexpectedly lovely and we are so grateful for Lisa for making our stay comfortable and fun!

My family met in Lodi, after not being together since the pandemic began. Immediately after booking, Lisa contacted me to open up a channel for any questions or needs I had. She sent over recommendations and suggestions for everything from wine, food, dinner, and entertainment. Check-in was a breeze and the home was more impressive than expected. Location could not have been more perfect, bring your walking shoes, everything is so close. The home had everything that every age guest needed, and then some. The small details that Lisa considers is top notch. I manage a luxury rental property and I am taking notes from Lisa. The kids in our group had surprise packages when we arrived and forgot all about the toys we had packed with all their new treasures in hand. The electricity in town went out during our day of departure. Lisa was on top of the communication and was very sensitive to the effect on our ability to check out on time. Last, but not least, that breakfast cake…. To die for!! Thank you! We hope that we find a reason to return and become repeat guests.
