Everything about this place was AMAZING!!! The owner was the nicest person ever! He was very responsive and super helpful! The house had plenty of room and all the essentials. Washer and dryer was super helpful keeping the kiddo in plenty of clean clothes. The backyard was the highlight for us. The hot tub was HUGE! The fenced in backyard was great our dog could run and play and we always knew she was safe! The tree fort, snow fort and private sledding hill kept the kiddo busy all day and into the night! We can't wait to stay here again!!!

Nice house, 30-40 minute drive from Squaw with traffic. 5 minute drive from Truckee proper.

I own a business and do not like or appreciate negative reviews, but I feel I need to warn anyone wanting to rent from this guy. The house itself was just OK. Beds were not very comfortable and the living area was awkwardly laid out with futons lining the walls. The coffee maker did not work and there literally was only one cutting knife to work with. The biggest negative is the owner never returned our deposit. He made us take out Property Damage Insurance and still took our deposit. After we got home I receive a phone call from him stating there was damage to the property. He continued to tell me that there were several groups that stayed there in a row and he did not personally inspect the property between groups. The phone call was to figure out which group did which damage so he could file the insurance claims. The whole time he assured me that we would be getting our deposit back after he filed the claims. The problem is we did not cause any damage to his property. He claimed we must have been the ones who scratched the hardwood floors with the leg of one of the futons. The fact is, we never moved the futons. It never dawned on him that maybe the cleaning service is the one that scratched the floor as they were moving the furniture to do their job. He kept assuring me that all I had to do was tell the insurance company that we may have done the damage if they called. I believe he filed the claim because I received an email regarding that but never a phone call. So here we are six and a half weeks after our departure and still no returned deposit. The other troubling thing is he writes in his lease that if you leave a positive review he will give you a discounted rate. Well, had we received our deposit back as promised I would not have written any review. CAVEAT EMPTOR!!!

We were 2 couples each with a child and this house fit us nicely (though it can sleep many more if needed)

I absolutely loved the house and the neighborhood. Great little restaurants around town, and the neighborhood was quiet and pretty. The house was spacious and clean, and we appreciated how the kitchen was open and in the middle of everything so that even when preparing food, we could still be hanging out with the rest of our group. My favorite thing about the house is the cool knotty wood on the ceiling. My only complaint is that the hot tub started out pretty cold and was still warming up for the first two days we were there (I'm told it warms about a degree an hour because it's HUGE). However, we really enjoyed it for our last two days of our stay!

We had 12 team members in a work team bonding weekend. Everyone had a great time, plenty of time at the house, plenty of room.

Felt friendly and comfortable for 23 people. Well designed and appointed. Mike is great. Make sure to talk personally with him not just rely on the online process.

Mike was great to work with us and our summer family reunion group. We enjoyed the big open room with kitchen, dining and living area together. The bedrooms had lots of room for sleeping accommodations. The location was perfect for visiting Truckee and Reno for shopping and dining, and being close to Lake Tahoe for paddling, kayaking and swimming. Please let Mike know ahead of time ALL the amenities you would like to use. Unfortunately the washer and the swim spa currents were unavailable at the time of our visit. We were able to use the hot tub. It is in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood.

Our group of 18 friends came here for the weekend to go skiing at Northstar, and the place was easily able to accommodate all of us (sharing beds, of course) with room for a couple more. The house was located very close to the resort, and close to shops and restaurants in Truckee. We left a set of skis at the house in our attempt to leave, and the owner has been very communicative and helpful in getting those back to us.

Location was great and Mike was good to work with. Disappointed that one of the TV's was missing and that the DVD player did not work. Our stay was 5 nights so this was a bit of an inconvenience. Otherwise, the house was clean and kitchen adequately stocked with dishes. Could have used a few more bowls for serving meals but we were creative and managed with the variety available. Pool table area was musty so we did not use it at all, but the workbench area was great in the other garage.

A nice place to relax that is nearby many places for having a good time. Nearby skiing resorts if some of your group are into that and also close to both Reno and Tahoe for nice restaurants and clubs for others. A very clean place with a number of activities like the pool table in the place. For a lower key outing, there is also a nearby bar/restaurant that has good hamburgers and other bar style food.

Got a great deal for a May ski trip. Decent end of season skiing without any lines. House is great and close to several ski resorts. Owner is great to work with. Highly recommended North Tahoe rental.
