The property was as advertised, old and a little quirky, but those are not negative. We really enjoyed the uniqueness of the house and property. Very nice back yard, perfect for our dog and looking out over the lake.
We had a couple of issues that the owner took care of right away. I should also say the owners are wonderful folks to chat with about the house, or anything else. I met another couple who had previously rented this house and they really enjoyed it as well.
I only gave 3 stars for cleanliness, I'll explain: The house just had a new roof put on as we rolled in. In fact, it was not quite completed. Due to the age of the house, dust fell down upon us until the first big rain. After that, not a issue.
The house is on a well and the water does not have a great taste (It's Florida, and a well, it is what it is). I mention it because we purchased a Brita water filter/container for our drinking water. That made it drinkable.
The location was PERFECT for our purposes, great access to bicycle riding, motorcycle riding and access to the gulf. If you stay out of Inverness during "rush hours", the traffic is great. That is rare in Florida! Not the crush of cars you get East and South.
Would we come back? Yes, that is the best endorsement I can give.

We stayed January 2023 for 3 weeks. House had an country fram feel very spacious. Very big kitchen. We loved our stay. Sunsets were amazing. Shower were nice and hot. We had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again if you like private and quiet its right here

This property was everything the listing described. The house is reminiscent of old Florida, decorated in shabby chic style and is so bright, comfortable and homey. The pictures in the listing are very accurate. We especially enjoyed the beautiful sunsets that we could view from the patio and the paddle boat which we used many times. The owners were very responsive to any questions I asked and sent their repair person immediately when there was an issue with the dishwasher. I would recommend this home to anyone who is looking for a relaxing, picturesque place to spend a vacation in Florida.

Loved this little house. Felt very comfortable. Marianne fixed any issues we had. Everything is old in the house but made to look good. We expected this. Brand new shower was perfect in master bath. Really liked everything. Beautiful sunset. Would come back!!! Thank you

My husband and I loved the house. It is in a beautiful location on the lake and has everything you need inside. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of each and every room. There are many places to sit outside and relax.

House was clean, very roomy and bright. I loved the shabby chic decor. House was stocked with most things needed. owner was responsive to communication. We liked the location, close to Iverness, Homosassa and Crystal river but still very rural and private location. I did not care for the security cameras on the patio and out front. Apparently the Owner does check to make sure there are no undeclared guests. The master bedroom is located over a damp basement that is not ventilated. There was a definite mildew/basement smell that came up through the floor under the bed in that room.

We thoroughly enjoyed the few days we spent at this property.
My son, our chef, was very impressed with the kitchen.He had every pot and pan, bowl, and baking dish he needed to prepare meals. The house was very clean and orderly. The beds were comfortable and cozy. As the host stated, the floorplan has a lot of steps to manuever and I would not recommend it to anyone who has mobilty or balance issues. I rented this because it had a canoe, kayak and paddle boat available to use. Unfortunately, the 40 degree temperatures did not make water sports a good idea. Despite having to cross watersports off our schedule we had a very nice stay.

We enjoyed staying at the lake home for the week. We explored Hernando, Homosassa, & Crystal Springs. It was nice being able to explore the Tsala Apopka Lake using the kayak, canoe, and paddleboat. Our pups enjoyed going out in the boats with us. We enjoyed fishing from the paddleboat and dock. My husband caught a couple of bass. We also enjoyed visiting springs and beaches close by. We liked eating at The Burger Station, Mike's Other Place, & The Front Porch. Swampy's was a nice place to relax with our pups after a long day.

Great get away, still
Old Florida cottage feel. Very natural setting with amazing view of the lake and outstanding sunsets. Great fishing!

Old and needs up date. The lights on the dock did not work . The cold water in sink in our bathroom did not work. The laundry room was a disaster. The rug kitchen was falling apart. Need to fix the screen door. The lake toys room was the worst .

Bliss
We loved staying at this lake home on Hernando Lake. Very quiet (except an occasional air boat on weekends). Great little house with all amenities we needed for a relaxing fishing vacation. Very close to Crystal River, Homosassa and Rainbow River where we enjoyed awesome kayaking and just relaxing in the sun.

Old and needs up date. The lights on the dock did not work . The cold water in sink in our bathroom did not work. The laundry room was a disaster. The rug kitchen was falling apart. Need to fix the screen door. The lake toys room was the worst .

Cute home and thoroughly enjoyed bringing it boat and getting out on the lake.
Entering the home while raining was horrible. The water comes down hard right at the entry. Def needs to be fixed! Yard in the front needs a better presentation. Inside, there is a odor that we had to mask with candles. Cabinets around the house need to be cleaned out and organized.

Comfortable Getaway
Centrally located to a number of outdoor activities. We rented this home to be on the water and be able to enjoy some outdoor activities. The house came with 2 bikes and is near a major bike trail that takes you through neighboring towns. It also has a paddleboat and a tandem kayak and canoe! It's close to crystal river and make sure you visit Rainbow Springs.

We can not begin to express how much we needed this place. It old my husband as we were walking out the door that I didn't want to leave. I truly took the time to disconnect from work and my husband was able to enjoy some fishing from the canoe. We will definitely be back!

Fishing is great, plenty of good size bass and the Dock is perfect to store a boat or vessel on and just hang out on. Will definitely be booking a future trip here again!

Fishing is great, plenty of good size bass and the Dock is perfect to store a boat or vessel on and just hang out on. Will definitely be booking a future trip here again!

The furniture was comfortable- very eclectic. The house was about 30 yards from the lake and there is outdoor table and chairs and metal couch. The plants in the front of the house need attention as well as the front of the house. Also there several steps in the house that you have to be careful of, and the road nearing the house is extremely bumpy. Overall it was a comfortable place, it had plenty of room. and we saw some beautiful sunsets.

Great fishing..Very peaceful. Covered dock was exceptional..the road into property was only partly paved...which made it difficult with trailer and mud from bad rain.

we enjoyed our stay out of the snow. the house was great. we had trouble with a big tree limb, and it was taken care of the next day. if you enjoy sunsets this is your place.

Wonderful Property on the Lake
Beautiful on directly on the lake. The home has everything you could want including a kayak, canoe and paddle boat to get out on the lake. The lake is lovely and quiet except for the air boats taking off from the launch across the lake. The bed is very comfortable and the shower was great. Lots of outdoor furniture to use. Perfect spot for relaxing or enjoying the lake and nearby springs!

Nice, but..
The property was in a nice location, on a lake with great views, and in a quiet neighborhood. The house itself was clean, but the kitchen utensils, drawers and A/C filters could have been in better condition.
The biggest issue was that 3 large dogs showed up while we were outside with our dog, who was tethered to a tree. The dogs were friendly, but surrounded our dog, which made him uncomfortable. After going inside, the dogs returned and came up to the sliding doors, which agitated our dog again. We had wanted to explore the area and go out for meals, but didn't feel comfortable leaving our dog alone in the house. So, instead of staying for the 2 nights we had booked, we left after one night.

The house is very charming and cozy. The Lakeview is beautiful and very serene. My husband and I enjoyed canoeing and my sister-n-law kayaking.
