Comfortable stay.

Closer to beach now as stairways were added at 18th and 20th streets

So lucky to have found this place. The property is clean and tidy. The owners had supplies provided. Our dog came as well and gave it 4 paws up! Super easy to reach the property owner too. It was my birthday and the owners left a bottle of delicious wine for the occasion. I ended up being proposed to on the nearby beach as well!! A trip to remember. Will definitely book this home again. 10/10 stars!!

We had such a great time at this house. It was a short, easy walk to the beach. There was plenty of room to spread out, it was exceptionally clean, and the owners were attentive. We really appreciated the parking card for parking in downtown St. Augustine. We are regular visitors to St. Augustine and know that parking can be expensive. We also appreciated the restaurant recommendations. Overall it was a fantastic long weekend, and our only regret was not being able to stay longer!

Cottage was a gem and very accurately depicted in the write up. Loads of space and being across the road from the beach was not a deterrent at all as the pathway through the dunes was close by. If you want a 5 star resort this place is probably not for you but if you are looking for a comfortable, laid back and un-pretentious cottage, I strongly recommend this spot.

We really enjoyed staying here. It was perfect for myself, my husband, and my dog. It was set-up for entertaining. It would be a great house to go with another couple. We are used to staying right on the beach, so I was kind of nervous having to walk, but the walk to the beach was not bad at all!

We had a great time at this property. The house was very clean and nice. The kitchen looked to be recently updated and was well stocked. The master bedroom was very nice but we ended up staying in the guest room to avoid the extra stairs up to the master. The area was extremely quiet and peaceful and perfect for us. The beach is just a very short walk and also quiet and isolated. We were a little disappointed that we couldn't see the ocean at all due to the building next door but still a great location. The house is also very close to a grocery store and only about a 10 minute drive to downtown St. Augustine. The owner was very nice and helpful as well and responded quickly to any questions. The only minor downside for us was having to constantly carry our small dogs up and down stairs to go outside but from reading previous reviews we were aware of this before we went and knew what to expect. Overall I would happily rent this house again and definitely recommend to anyone that does not have an issue with using stairs.

House was lovely. Location great. Beach nice and quiet. Husband fished almost every day and caught a lot of Whitings and Bluefish. Coming back next year!

Excellent location, easy check-in and communication with the host. It was nice having chairs, towels, and a tent for the beach. Love the privacy and distance from everything.

It’s a great place to unwind and relax both with a group or on your own. Also very pet friendly although the stairs may be a challenge for smaller dogs.

My husband and I found this property listing to be deceptive, to say the least. "Sixty steps to the beach!" boasts the listing.--for the Jolly Green Giant, maybe. You cannot even see the beach from the property. It cost my husband and I almost $1,000 to learn that there is NO truth in advertising.

We enjoyed the house. It was clean and had everything that we needed. The house is on stilts and it was very windy when we were there so it was interesting to feel the house move with the wind. It wasn't scary just unexpected. Location was perfect for our activities. Getting to the beach was not difficult although it involved crossing a busy road.

Peaceful and everything we needed. The weather got a little chilly but we went downtown and enjoyed the sites. Have re-booked for labor day weekend

Great location to everything. John was so easy to communicate with. Got our exercise with the stairs but not complaining. Easy beach access and we'll equipped home.

Got plenty of that running up and down stairs, carrying our little dogs out (they don't do stairs). A small 1or 2- person lift would do wonders for the property. A little dated, but I expected that.

The location was perfect for a relaxing beach vacation. An easy walk to the beach and you practically have a private beach since their isn’t public parking nearby.

Great place to just hang out at the beach and relax in cool beach house. Beach area was only accessible to local residents. I liked how the kitchen and living area was spacious and open.

If you are looking for a pet friendly, inexpensive stay in a nice neighborhood with great and legal beach access (not typical any more - usually walking 1/4 down A1A with cars blowing by you at 80+ or trespassing through an empty property), easy intercoastal boat ramp access, and short neighborhood walks to Aunt Kate's or the Reef - and are OK with living in a back-in-the-day Vilano beach house with all of its imperfections then this place is hard to beat. If you are looking for a more upscale beach experience... Well, look at the pictures closely. You are getting exactly what is pictured. Check-in and out was easy. Communication was excellent. We did lose Internet. It took AT&T several days to determine it was due to squirrels in the wiring, but Bob found a way for us to use a neighboring wifi temporarily. He even brought us some homemade datil pepper sauce. Great save there. We would definitely stay there again.

Nice house. Enjoyed being near the ocean, having a washer/dryer and that we were able to have our dog. The kitchen is amazing. It's worth mentioning that the house would not be suitable for anyone with difficulties climbing stairs.

We really enjoyed this area of the beach, so glad we chose to stay here, very quiet (even over July 4th!). Close to restaurants in Vilano Beach and a quick drive into downtown St Augustine. Easy walk to the beach. Clean house with everything we needed. John was very nice to work with and we plan to come again!

Quiet and easy access to the beach. Short drive to St. Augustine. Host friendly and quick to reply. Only issue is the climb up the stairs to the house and later to the upstairs bedroom could be difficult for older people or those with other issues.
