The house was great location, easy walk to town and events. It was older home and appeared out of date but it went perfect with the style of home. We really liked the style. But upon arrival, the parking are was iced over with only a little sand to spread where needed to walk to house by from car. There was another house right behind ours so it would difficult for additional cars to park and turn around with the ice. Inside issues (keep in mind there are 3 bedrooms & 3 bathrooms-possibly 6 adults could have been there): The shower head did not work in master downstairs bath so had to take a bath instead of showering. The other downstairs bath, only had tub. The shower head upstairs spouted water across bathroom. The hot water faucet, leaked. And only one person could bath/shower due to lack of water pressure and hot water. Huge issue when everyone is trying to get ready at same time. And this is A couple of small issues: No hand soap in the bathrooms so we had to buy our own. No extra toliet paper in upstairs bathroom. Took extra from other downstairs bathroom. Trash can in kitchen was a taller can with just a grocery store/Walmart bag in it. It filled up quickly then dropped to the bottom of the can when we filled it up. And no extra trash bags in kitchen. Bed in upstairs bedroom were worn down on one side also. Otherwise it was comfy. The other bedroom was very dark. The lighting definitely needs to be brighter. We stayed in other bedroom which had plenty of light. I have talked to the rental company and just waiting on issues to be addressed. They were very receptive!

Bring hairstylist we do our Christmas afterwards. This year we also had a Birthday to celebrate. The cottage was perfect getaway and we walked into town

Good location with cottage style looks. Needs updates for the price charged. Home is not a good value for condition.

We had an amazing weekend in Blowing Rock and at this cottage ! Being able to walk everywhere with our 3month old and 3 year old was so convenient. Great accommodations and lovely town

We stayed with 6 adults and enjoyed the front porch and ability to be together and walk to town. It is important to remember that the house was built in the 1800’s. Bathrooms are dated and the house is a little dark. Enjoyed reading the history of the house .

We couldn't have asked for a better property. The house and grounds are charming and very well kept. The address is Main St., but the house sits well back from the road and feels very private. The bedrooms and bathrooms are well appointed. This is an historic house so the stairs creak and the screen doors slap, but that only added to the charm for us. Everything is in walking distance. Great experience.

Needs a bit updating. Toilet seats too low for older adults. Toilet lid upstairs kept coming off, kitchen pots and pans need replacing _ food sticks. Grill did not work. Igniter broken. Sink in upstairs bathroom does not drain well. Shower downstairs has no water power .these are all minor fixes. Location location location. Thank you for a nice stay.

We had a wonderful week in Blowing Rock, NC. Thanks to this adorable cottage right next to downtown. We were able to walk to all the cute stores, and restaurants.

Fabulous quaint cottage. Loved the decor. Work on more comfortable seats for older adults. Need to replace shower liner upstairs. Check shower stream in downstairs shower. Great location and parking. Loved the outdoor gazebo! Had a great time. We will return!

Large quiet property just a short walk from all that Downtown Blowing Rock has to offer. The house was spacious and clean and the outdoor areas were great for coffee or afternoon cocktails. Property Mgr was great and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.

We recently stayed with family in this perfect cottage, the pictures on the listing don't quite do the place justice! The cottage was immaculately clean upon arrival and just the right amount of space for us (4 adults and 1 kid.) The location was exceptional, we walked to all of our meals and this is just a few minutes walk from an amazing park for kids of all ages. Highly recommend Suddreth Cottage, we will be back!

Lovingly restored cottage close to Main Street. Very charming. Very close to nearby attractions and hiking trails. We wished the windows in the first floor bedroom could have opened because that room gets a little stuffy. I think they are painted shut? And we missed having a colander to drain pasta or dishrag to wipe the counters - I am a very tidy renter ;) Had to use wet paper towels. Other than those small things, it was delightful. Would rent it again.

We enjoyed our stay in Blowing Rock at the Suddreth Cottage. The location was perfect and we enjoyed walking downtown to eat and shop. The cottage is quaint and starting to show its age. We could not seem to get the heat regulated - it is sweltering in the two upstairs bedrooms, but freezing in the "master bedroom" downstairs. Also, we repeatedly tried to get in touch with property management to fix a broken bed, but after repeated attempts we gave up and slept on the floor. So, don't expect to get anything fixed while you are there. Overall it was a fun weekend in Blowing Rock.

We had so much fun in this cottage. Older property but so cozy and comfortable! Location is fantastic and made for one of the best Christmas’ of my adult life. We even got snow!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Suddreth Cottage, especially being able to walk downtown for shopping and dining. We were pleasantly surprised shortly after arriving when the owner came by to check on something. She gave us a personal tour and history of the house, and pointed out her personal painting and decorating touches. Hearing her describe the restoration of the 100 year-old house was fascinating!

Nice but had a musty smell due to the age. One washcloth per person for 5 days was a challenge. I bought extras at a Walmart.

The Suddreth Cottage is in an amazing location just a few steps from downtown Blowing Rock. The ability to walk anywhere in town easily is simply wonderful. Our only issue was not realizing that basic kitchen supplies (cooking oil, some basic spices, etc) were not provided. An easy fix and beyond that, we had a fantastic stay.

We had a blast with our little family. Quirky, historic, interesting home within easy walking distance of everything to do downtown. I would definitely NOT go until the construction is finished next door, though. It was CRAZY LOUD starting at 7am and some days they went till 8pm. We knew there "could be noise during the day" as included in the posting, but this was way louder and way longer than we anticipated. The driveway was also littered with nails yesterday - thank God my husband spotted them before we ran them over. Wait till all that mess is done and then visit - the property really is lovely. I would also recommend packing some extra towels and pillows if traveling with more than 4 ppl.

We loved being so close to town. Very charming with the fireplace and rocking chairs. Loved the front porch. There seems to be little insulation (old house) as noises travelled everywhere and it got hit upstairs while cool elsewhere. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

We all had a great time in this cute cottage in downtown Blowing Rock. Clean and rustic and comfortable best describe this cottage. We'd definitely stay there again.

We enjoyed being together in the cottage. The location was perfect. The stairs and floors are creaky, but we were aware of that before making our reservation. The noise carries in the house so it was hard for those who liked to go to sleep earlier than the rest. The old plumbing and fixtures are charming but could use some fine tuning. Loved the gas fireplace. The kitchen had practically everything we needed to cook our full Thanksgiving feast.

We had a great time in this charming house over the Halloween weekend. It is at most a 2 minute walk to the main thoroughfare of Blowing Rock. A lot of time and effort was put forth revamping this old gem of a home. We will be back!

The house was rather loud in that wooden floors will be that way. The hinges and door knobs could use some WD oil. But you expect that in an old house. We much preferred that to a motel.

Love Blowing Rock, wonderful hiking, property right in the middle of town walking distance to coffee, restaurants, shopping and the park. Outlet mall just around the corner. Great front porch. Very convenient.
