Reviewer Comments: Our family has enjoyed staying at “The Blue House” in September for four years now. We like the location. With a golf cart to drive the short distance to the beach and then to drive around Wild Dunes, the location is great. Very private. We love having our own private Pool for our four grandchildren!! The one level and floor plan works great for our family of ten. We have a ten year old in a wheelchair and the floor plan is great for him. The only thing that would be helpful is to have a handicap ramp on the side of the house to the back deck where there are no steps to inside of house would be wonderful. Carrying him into the house at front entrance gets harder each year as he grows. This year we noticed that the house and furniture needs some TLC. Cleaning inside and out. Power washing sides of house and just sweeping off the front entrance so you do not track in leaves etc would be nice. A new mattress in one of the bedrooms is needed. Furniture in living room dirty and feathers coming out of the couch. The main problem we had this year was the water would not go out in the shower in master bedroom. Called maintenance and plumber came out but he could not fix it and said someone would come back with bigger tools but they didnt. I just told Island Realty that we would put up with it until we left the next day. It was a Saturday and they said they were having trouble getting someone out there. But this was not pleasant to deal with and I was disappointed that this happened. One other thing that would be nice is to have a ceiling fan on front porch to keep mosquitoes and bugs from going in front door. So, we love this house. Island Realty is great. Love Wild Dunes. Just think it is time for major cleaning and maintenance which happens in all houses...especially rentals. Thank you to Island Realty and the owners of “The Blue House” for four years of making GREAT memories for our family.

However, the home wasn’t clean and was in poor shape. I have discussed the issues with Island Realty, they were very professional and apologetic. I felt that the living room furniture could use some extra attention. Plenty of towels and kitchen items.

The frontage appears to have never been mowed and a dirt/sand/leave covered front steps and porch meant tracking it into the house as we unloaded our gear. There were many issues that showed neglect for the property: 1. Window blinds were ripped, torn, shoddy and raised unevenly- showing a lack of care for the property. 2. The furniture was beaten, worn and stained.3. Many appliances weren't functional or in need of replacement (dishwasher had rusted out racks and required pre-and post cleaning of dishes, the hand mixer has parts floating around inside it and the beaters did not stay in the mixer when in use, one of the blenders didn't have a matching top, pots and pans were mismatched with some parts, (the steamer/deep fat fryer not fitting any pan in the home), etc.4. The master bathroom had mildew and worms in the shower which needed removal upon arrival-not the best first impression. There was also a giant stain on the wall in the master bathroom that couldn't be washed away (I tried).5. There was a broken tile along the side of the pool which one of my daughter's almost injured herself when stepping around the outside.6. There was an abundance of trash and broken toys around the outside of the deck.8. There was a hornets nest in the outdoor shower.9. There was an abundance of flies that seemed to knowingly arrive at dinner time-don't know what that's about or how to fix it.10. There was a big smudge on the outside of the picture window overlooking the pool.11. The AC was inadequate to properly cool the main living area of the home let alone the upstairs 3 bed bedroom. The AC was set as directed and the house was at 80 degrees during the day. The upstairs bedroom was extremely hot and needed to be avoided during the day. We moved a rotating fan into the room to create at least an air flow-but to have a room with 3

The location was perfect and the house was very comfortable. I would like to mention some issues. When we pulled in the "grass" was over grown and the property did look dirty. No yard work was done during the week we were there. The pool was nice and clean. Would have been nice to mention that someone would be by to clean and treat the pool. The house wasn't very clean. If we weren't so worried about Covid and having extra people come in the house I would have called to have it cleaned. Large spill in the refrigerator that hadn't been cleaned. Tons of bugs alive and dead along all windows. We lived in the Low Country for 10 years so we know about the bugs but they should have been cleaned up. There is a dead large plant in the dinning room that should be thrown away. Broken towel rack in the en suite bathroom. 2 deflated floats were left on the deck with rain water collecting in them There was no gas in the grill. Not sure if that was listed on the website but the tank was empty. I would think rent would cover a full tank. I would definitely rent this house again but hoping next time it would be clean and the grass cut. Hoping this virus won't be a issue next time because I will be calling.
