Tammy was a wonderful host and very responsive! The chalet was spotless and very comfortable and peaceful - the perfect retreat! We had 2 adults and a small dog, but there seems to be plenty of room & privacy for 1-2 other couples/families. The kitchen was well equipped to make a few simple meals. The screened in porch was breathtaking and we enjoyed having dinner on the porch. The house is on top of a very steep hill, so it made for a good cardio workout just running around with my dog for a few minutes, lol. The house is supplied by well water and does have a strong sulphur smell (as others noted), but we got used to it after a couple days. FYI - The roads leading up to the property are gravel, but seems manageable for most cars.

The house, property, and view was amazing!! Everything was so clean and beautiful inside. Even though the weather was a little chilly, it did not stop us from enjoying the screened in porch. The cabin is close to so many beautiful hikes and views. We also enjoyed the Oktoberfest at the Farmer's Market. Everyone was so friendly. It was the perfect stay.

Lots of space to relax in this three bedroom house - several seating areas plus the screened in outdoor living and dining room! Comfortable furniture, gorgeous views. Could easily have 6 adults staying comfortably. Very clean. Had everything you might need down to plastic wrap and a vacuum cleaner! The negatives were minor - we were flummoxed by the Nest thermostat and how to reset it. We could not figure out the TV. There are a ton of light switches and a few could be better marked. But the fact that these features were there at all means the house is better appointed than any other I've stayed in. City dwellers might find the well water a bit off-putting on smell. I do suggest better marking at the driveway entrance. But those things should not deter anyone from picking this property for a great getaway.

The owners were very accommodating and extremely friendly. The property matched the description on the website and more. Highly recommend this property for a quiet country get away.

Myself and family LOVED staying here. My wife and kids walked over to the farmers market Saturday and felt right at home. Tammy the property owner/manager communicated with us perfectly and made our stay so simple. We plan to come back!

Couldn’t have been a more relaxing trip. We needed a quick getaway and this place hit everything we needed! We loved watching the afternoon storms roll into the valley from the comfort of the amazing screened in porch. Kids loved swimming in the nearby lake. The farmers market was so nice. Great way to spend our Saturday morning there before we went out exploring.

We had a great time at Swiss Cottage. Lovely location and such a peaceful setting. Very well equipped and clean. We hope to return.

Wish we could have stayed longer! The views from the large screened in porch were phenomenal. The entire cottage was spacious, extremely clean and comfortable. Excellent place for kids as well! Highly recommended!

What a flawless check-in, beautiful scenery, perfect place. When they mean NO cell service- they mean NO cell service. Perfect unplugging week. Already booked again for next year!

Wonderful property would stay there over again

This is one of the most beautiful VRBO properties we have stayed in. It is set between Lost River State Park and George Washington National Forest which has many fabulous hiking trails and amazing views. The 10 acre garden and quiet aspect was perfect for us and our dog thoroughly enjoyed rampaging up and down the lawn chasing the ball/sticks, streams to explore and wildlife on your doorstep. The cottage was well equipped, superbly clean with ample living space and chilling out areas, and very dog friendly. We loved the snug room downstairs, perfect for movie nights! Our favorite part of the cottage was the outdoor, screened decking area with the most gorgeous panoramic view of the hills and forests where we enjoyed many evenings have dinner and relaxing watching the sunsets. We stayed 7 days and wish we could have stayed longer. The farm shop and coffee shop down the bottom of the hill is also awesome but only open Saturdays. We are so looking forward to staying here again in the future and would certainly recommend to friends and family alike.

This was a clean, well maintained property. It had a good kitchen with everything we needed. We used the dog park a few times- there were a few toys there, but I would suggest bringing your own.

We really enjoyed our time in the Lost River. Wonderful location with a fantastic view. Will be coming again soon!

It wasn't modern, if that's what you're looking for, but very cozy and comfortable. The view from the deck is AMAZING, and we spent a lot of time out there. The beds were fine. There's no dishwasher if that's important to you, but we had no problem with hand washing what we used. The kitchen was well stocked with pans and dishes we needed. While there we enjoyed lots of beautiful hiking, especially at Lost River State Park. If it's open, make sure you visit the farmer's market at the bottom of the hill to get delicious coffee, pastries and lots of other goodies. I definitely recommend this home. We already made plans to come back in December!

Our family loved this place! The house was much bigger than pictures made it seem- plenty of room for the five of us to spread out. Kitchen was very well stocked with dishes, pans etc. Nice big patio. We also enjoyed playing ball and running around in the huge yard.

This was a seamless process from booking the cottage online to entering the property to communicating with the owners. The cottage was immaculately clean, and all of the appliances worked perfectly. We all enjoyed our week at the Swiss Cottage.
