This was our first stay in OBX and Duck is definitely the best, cutest, little town with plenty to do. The house was massive and had everything our family needed. I do wish they paid more attention to details like the throw up looking gunk I had to clean off my daughters remote , the games were left in shambles, or a mattress pad in the master would be nice it was as hard as a rock. I also wish I had known how loud the traffic noise was going to be. If you’re like me and you find it hard to relax looking and hearing traffic you won’t be spending much time on the beautiful porches. But this didn’t bother us in the backyard. The pool area was beautiful and backed up to these beautiful woods where we often saw different birds and deer. In the pictures it looked like the whole house was going to be secluded by tree coverage so I was just surprised to walk out on the porches and be bombarded with traffic and noise. It was also tough not being able to let the kids play alone in the sand or mini golf area because of how close it was to the road. Again, the pictures made it seem more set in, but wasn’t a big deal to sit out and watch them. Plenty of lawn and sand toys were there which was much appreciated! the beach was a short walk and I was worried to cross the street with all the kids but people usually stopped to let us cross. The beach was beautiful l, clean, and uncrowned. Sidewalks all the way into duck, kids loved walking to Aqua, great food, outdoor seating and live music. Overall great trip, just wish I had known how close the road was in advance.

Check in was easy- even got a tx when the house was ready early! The upstairs layout was nice- all open kitchen and living room concept. If you are planning on cooking I would bring some containers for leftovers. There were only a couple. Otherwise the kitchen was fully stocked with all your needs. We did have an issue with the ice maker not working and called twice but no one came to fix it. Not a big issue. Plenty of room for our group of 8 adults with all the bedrooms and bathrooms. The extra charge for the linen and towel service wasn’t worth the $150.00 we paid. Towels were very thin and only one kitchen towel was included. I would recommend bringing your own. The pool was a pure delight to have and was used frequently. Easy access to the beach and bike path. Other than those few minor comments I mentioned the house was terrific. U
