Our stay was AMAZING. The location was PERFECT for getting away from the "noise" and stress of everyday life. The owner was helpful and made us feel at home. Beautiful back porch has the perfect view of the mountains. The house was neat and we had everything we needed. You will not regret staying here.

Had a wonderful time in the mountains. Unbelievable views from the rear deck. Cabin was all it was advertised to be and more. Rick was very helpful with our stay. Would HIGHLY recommend this cabin to anyone wanting to get away from the hustle of daily life. My wife and I hope to come back in the future.

Amazing views! Very quiet and isolated. Rick was a perfect host. We stayed during the coldest time. We would definitely stay again. I saw more stars then I ever experienced!

Great place, would stay again

This place has an incredible view. If there are no clouds or rain, the sunset is spectacular. Great fireplace. Private as well. For those really picky, there was plenty of hot water! The location is great. You are close to good shopping, Linville Caverns, Grandfather Mountain, and Linville Falls and Gorge. Would stay again.

My boyfriend and I celebrated my 29th birthday in Little Switzerland. I booked this cabin because of the view from the photos and it looked like a nice place to stay. Trust me neither disappointed, especially that view!

This cabin was all we hoped it would be and more! The road back in is a great little gravel road that twists and turns, but once you first drive it, you've got it and it is a breeze! Rick met us at the Post Office and we followed him to the house. So glad as we probably wouldn't have found it. It is totally private with a cozy living room with pretty stone fireplace, a dining area, and very workable kitchen, two bathrooms and a laundry room in one of them. The view is absolutely breathtaking from the large open deck. The mountains change with the time of the day and the weather and we could sit and watch them forever! The hot tub on the deck is a wonderful way to end the day gazing at the sunset and the mountains fading into the dark. The little town - population of approx. 50 people, is delightful as well. There is a general store, an amazing book store that goes on and on in a great little building with a super gift shop and coffee shop with lattes and baked goodies. The cafe has wonderful BBQ and slaw sandwiches as well as other choices and soups, etc. The Little Switzerland Inn has a great restaurant and there are some fun shops and a super icecream store there. It is right around corner from the general store and post office. The Blue Ridge Parkway goes right past the back of the house and you travel it to get most anywhere. The town of Spruce Pine is a short drive away with a super Walmart, drugstore, restaurants, etc. We played golf at the local golf course and that was beautiful. Don't miss Little Switzerland Orchard winery, ciders, and brewery just down the road. We tried all the different kinds of cider with their flights and took some growlers home with us. The maple/bacon is outstanding! Also stop at the Mineral Museum as it is very interesting. We hope to get back this way again as it truly was a magical stay. Thank you Rick!

View from the deck was amazing and the cabin was very clean and comfortable.

Rick, met us and guided us to a perfect cabin getaway. The view from the back deck is breath taking. Sitting in the hot tub looking at the stars and seeing the mountains in the distance put one at ease. The interior has a charming feel. Enjoyed each evening with a fire with real fire place. If you want wood it is well worth asking Rick instead of packing in your own. The kitchen is very well equipped. If you need a break from everything this is the place you've been looking for. We had a great time at the cabin on Grassy Mountain Lane. The property was as secluded and beautiful as advertised. The owner was thorough and accommodating. We can’t recommend it this property enough.

This cabin is located ideally for accessing the Black Mountains / Mt. Mitchell area, but other NC mountain destinations are a reasonable drive away. Rick was a great host. He met us initially nearby to show us how to reach the property up the single track road and also how to use everything inside the cabin. He was very helpful and gave us great suggestions for things to do in the area. The cabin was spotless and had everything we needed, including the hot tub on the deck, which was great after a day of hiking. We highly recommend this cabin for visitors to the NC mountains.

It was a piece of heaven in the mountains. Unfortunately for us, it rained almost every day so we had to wait until our last day to get a true picture of the majesty we were surrounded by. But when the sun came out we were awed by the views. The cabin itself is charming, clean and well appointed. The bed is comfy. The kitchen has everything you need. We loved our stay!

Rick was awesome from beginning to the end of our extended weekend stay. We were accomidated every step of the way, he even made sure my girlfriend had a floor fan available because we were on a motorcycle and could not bring one (she can't sleep without one). If you desire privacy and a gorgeous view this is the place for you! Clean, well appointed, and just a wonderful experience. You won't be dissapointed. It's our new annual vacation destination.

This was the most peaceful cabin I have ever been to. The location is great, the views are gorgeous . the place had everything i needed . Great host !

We decided to get away and this house made for a fantastic vacation. It has everything you need to just enjoy the peacefulness of the mountains. Rick was very accommodating and we enjoyed the blackberries in the yard and the tomatoes and bottle that he gave us (: The drive wasn’t as bad as we thought it would be either. Very quiet and secluded but a short distance from so many different activities, we enjoyed walking up to grassy creek falls, Crabtree falls, and we also went and seen the view from wiseman view and there are no words…. You have to see it for yourself. The house and the area, pictures just do not do it justice. I was in love with the house as soon as I walked in. Thank you Rick for your hospitality and attentiveness!

We needed a last minute getaway to soak up some WNC mountain medicine and this beautiful, hand-built and custom design cabin was absolutely perfect! It is "conveniently" secluded and offers a jaw-dropping view of several mountain range peaks from any room in the spacious and well-appointed cabin and deck (I was able to work from my laptop at the dining room table and still see the gorgeous view!). You cannot see a single other building from here, and only a small portion of road way across the valley on another ridge. Cooking was a delight in the clean, well-stocked kitchen, and everything was sparkling upon our arrival. The fresh-picked lily waiting for us at check-in was a super sweet touch, and the small library proved to be an impressive feature. Although we didn't venture back out once we settled in, the cabin is in a pretty central location to go sightseeing and visit some of WNC's best area attractions. Our favorite part was that we didn't even want to go back out once we were here. The only traffic we heard was from the blue ridge parkway (occasional, and daytime only), so we were able to hear the birds, bugs and critters the whole time! Rick was an amazing host, and communication with him was excellent from booking to traveling home. The listing description is very accurate, and made for a pleasant, no-unwelcome-surprises, experience. We absolutely plan to return for future stays, and highly recommend this cabin as a serene, romantic, comfortable, Perfect Mountain Getaway. Many Thanks, Rick!!!

We just needed a couple of days to get away. We loved the place and a great view.

The cabin was exactly what we wanted for a private weekend getaway. Mountainside sunset views, private, calm and beautiful landscapes. The cabin was cozy and updated. We enjoyed the jacuzzi and individually heated bathrooms. Rick was a great host, easy to communicate with. We will be back.

Really enjoyed our stay. Rick was a great host and takes great pride in this special place. It is truly by itself with a view off the back porch of Mount Mitchell that is breathtaking. Would highly recommend. Hope to make a return visit soon.

A few minor things I would change, but the view was so beautiful & the property was so secluded that I can’t complain. Absolutely enchanting.

We stayed the second week of December and enjoyed a quiet and peaceful 5 days. Purchased firewood at Walmart in Spruce Pine and had a fire each evening. Even though we were iced/fogged in one day it was very relaxing and when clear the mountains are beautiful.

The owner was helpful and has a nice cabin for a getaway vacation. My only complaints are that there were no light-blocking window treatments in the bedroom and that the road was rough and scary.

This was a wonderful getaway for a few days after being stuck in the house for months! Rick escorted us to the property and shortly after we were at a beautiful cabin with the BEST view! You cannot beat this view of the mountains. The place was VERY clean and had cookware that we needed to cook dinners. The hot tub was also very clean and in great condition. We also went to Mt. Mitchell on one of the days - a MUST do. And on another day we hiked to one of the waterfalls. We had no worries while we were there. An amazing trip! Thank you!

Accurately described. Absolutely beautiful. Just what we expected. Extremely clean and well equipped. Everything was in working order. Drive up not bad. The perfect place if you want peace, views and seclusion. Highly recommended. Owner, Rick very helpful and accommodating. Truly enjoyed our stay.

House was clean, everything worked, location location location.

The jacuzzi is great; the fire place is perfect, the cabin is homey and clean. Our only issue is with the mattress. The host responded to our complaint about the bed creaking every time someone rolled over. He immediately replaced the box spring. However, the saggy mattress remained. It sags in the middle. Though my wife likes soft beds, she found this one as too saggy for her to sleep well. Again, we liked the host and the cabin, but we hope we never have to sleep on a mattress like that again. We enjoyed walking the roads and we had a wonderful walk to Grassy Creek Water Fall. The drive to the cabin was not treacherous to us at all. The view is stunning. The noise from the cars on Blue Ridge Parkway is annoying but didn't ruin our stay. Due to the friendliness of the host and the cleanness of the cabin, our overall stay was nice.

You hang on the mountain after a vertigo inducing drive to the front porch up a one lane road that is thankfully not much traveled. LS is a wonderful area.
