Our 2nd time staying at New Moon was just as wonderful and memorable as the 1st. The villa was clean and inviting, and the pool was immaculate as ever! The property managers were very responsive and helpful. Excellent location, very private and safe. Can’t wait to come back!!

Great, quiet spot.

We really enjoyed our stay at New Moon. Basement was a bit musty smelling and dark, so we didn't go down there to watch tv. But who needs to watch tv in St. John. The property is peaceful with beautiful flowers and tropical trees, that was our favorite part.

Nice, clean, private, comfortable house with beautiful grounds in a quiet, friendly neighborhood. Deck and pool are perfect for non-beach chill out days and the screened-in porch is lovely. Owner and property managers are friendly, laid-back, good communicators, and very helpful. We loved our time here, would come back again!

I highly recommend this property if you’re looking to stay in the Coral Bay side of STJ. It’s a very quiet, secluded property with nice amenities and sleeps 4-5. Great pool and deck as well as a double hammock up on a perch above the main house. Kitchen is a perfect size, and beach amenities are provided for guests. The drive to the house is a little challenging at first, but once you get the route down, it’s easy to get back to. House is located centrally to the Hwy 20 turnoff to the north shore beaches, East End beaches and south shore beaches. The host and property manager were very attentive to visitors’ needs and checked in during the trip. All in all a gem in the best part of STJ!

This was the perfect villa for a honeymoon. The pool was wonderful. The set up with the kitchen and living area was great. We used the dining on the screened in porch a lot.

We had a great time, the house was perfect. Nice and private. I enjoyed listening to the rain at night while reading a book

Very quiet and serene!

This is a charming home nestled in the trees. We stay in St John several times a year and this is one of the best priced homes on the island for what it offers. The master bedroom has a king size bed and is very comfortable however it takes up the entire room so you cannot walk around to get in or out for the person on the inside. No AC in the master bedroom. You have to sleep with the panels open to pull ac from the living room. It was hot so we closed the storm doors to keep the house cool day and night. The second bedroom really is not a bedroom it is a small addition area that is SO HOT and no ac with 2 twin beds side by side and no window coverings so up at the crack of dawn. Great for kids. We closed it off and put luggage in it. To watch TV you have to go outside, down the front steps and under the house to the media room. It is cool, dark and has AC and a toilet, full size laundry and a counter top with a sink. It really looks like it is the belly of a ship. Outside the pool is very relaxing, a great deck and a new gas BBQ. The screened in porch is great for morning coffee. You will have lots of geckos, mosquito's and jack Spaniards around due to the woodsy location. You will need 4x4 to get to it but it is fun. Our biggest downside was the mosquitoes. We stayed in Rendezvous a week before and not 1 bite but here we were covered in 2 days. The trees/woodsy location brings the mosquitoes. Great home and accommodations.

I would offer all the stars in the galaxy for this rental. An oasis in paradise. We had everything we needed, peace, and traquility. 4X4 very helpful. We will be back.

Our stay here was fantastic and this is definitely the best value on the island. This is a quaint little cottage but with plenty of room to spread out. Despite the road leading to it, the location offers easy access to Coral Bay restaurants and shopping. The kitchen was well-appointed and the grill seemed brand new. The deck was great at night for star gazing and offers a limited view of the water. The downstairs media room was a little disappointing because it smelled like it had been recently fumigated so our kids just slept in the nook off the main floor. Overall, super solid place to stay and no regrets renting it at all.

Very private place. Great pool. Gas grill is a plus. Laundry on site. We visit St John often, and love trying new places. New Moon Escape did not disappoint. All you need too relax and have a pool day, or get out on the beaches. Convenient too stores and restaurants. Our host Jared was just a call or text away. Overall great experience!!!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay. Its a very clean, secluded adorable cottage.We would definitely stay again. We are actually looking at our calendars so we can begin booking another stay. We really enjoyed the private pool after a long day of travel or after a day at the beach. The road is bouncy like others had said but we didn’t really have a issue with that once we found it. We did have a 4 wheel drive. The kitchen was well equipped and the ac kept it comfortable. I definitely give this 2 bedroom, 1-12 bath adorable cottage 5 stars.

My friend and I stayed for a week at New Moon Escape and had a wonderful time! The cottage is cozy and well-equipped with pretty much everything you need, including beach towels, extra linens, cookware, beach chairs, etc. The pool and deck were lovely and the screened-in porch was a nice place to enjoy our morning coffee. Communication with Jared was excellent and the check-in/check-out process was turnkey. The five-minute drive from the main road to the cottage was quite the adventure, but we thought it was fun. As others have stated, a 4-wheel drive vehicle is pretty much necessary. The cottage is just minutes from several restaurants and two small grocery stores. I highly recommend Dolphin Market - they have fresh produce as well as a nice selection of cheeses, crackers, hummus, etc. Overall, it was an amazing stay at New Moon Escape - highly recommend!

Perfect for our family group. Check in was easy. The house is very nice, was clean and comfortable. Pool and upper deck were amazing, gardens/grounds are beautiful and quiet at night. Only downside for some people would be the somewhat difficult (bumpy, no signs) roads past Love City market to get there. We had been to STJ and Coral Bay many times so were aware of the road situation, you definitely need a jeep to get there. Loved being right in Coral Bay close to most of our favorite places, beaches, bars, local friends etc..

Fantastic place to stay while visiting St. John. Communication was spectacular with the host who went above and beyond with providing us with everything we needed. The pool was a treat to come home to after a long day of enjoying the Islands and the laundry machine was a huge bonus.

Can not say enough great things about this property. The house is exactly what you need to stay in a remote part of St. John. The views of the mountains and night sky where amazing. The house was well kept up and nice safe place to be for a week. The kitchen is well stocked with what you need for cooking in or bringing food back. The Pool and deck are outstanding. The wild life around the house adds to the since of remoteness on the island. Jared and Keri, are absolutely the best to work with, from the time you reserve all the way through your departure they are there to answer anything and help get the best out of your stay. A word of caution, the road up to the house is adventurous, you do need an all wheel drive or 4x4. I would return and recommend it to anyone visiting St. John.

While it is an adventure to get from the main road to the house, once you’re there it’s a great place to relax. The deck and pool are obviously the highlights of the house, and that is where we spent a lot of time as it was idyllic. Another highlight was the responsiveness and positivity of Keri and Jared. They are amazing property owners and hosts! The kitchen is well equipped though we would have appreciated a large skillet/sauté pan and an extra ice cube tray or two. The living room and dining room are comfy and the AC unit cooled the house nicely. The main bedroom and bathroom have some quirks, like the fact that they put a giant 4 post king size bed into a space better suited to a queen bed, which means you have very limited room to walk around the bed. The master bath also has a glass/screen door to the outside right in front of the toilet. All in all though, it’s a great house for the money in a really neat location away from the business of Cruz Bay.

New Moon Escape is a perfect property for two and those with a couple kids. We waited three years to make this second trip to NME and this property really has everything you need. The outdoor space with pool, lounges and all the trees is so beautiful. After early morning snorkeling trips to one of the many great beaches, the pool was fun in the afternoon. We had forgotten about the challenging road, but did enjoy the deer, goats, donkeys, iguanas and chickens on the drive in. I am sure we will find ourselves back at New Moon Escape in the future.

My family of four stayed here for our first trip as a family to the Virgin Islands. What a gem this place is! It’s situated in the quiet end of the island but only 10-25 mins from most of the prime beaches on the island. The king sized bed was perfect for me and my (tall) spouse and the kids loved the sleeping “nook” and pull out sofa in the main living room. There was an air conditioning unit and two standing fans that made a world of difference for sleeping. Our 7 and 10 yr old loved the pool, finding lizards in the property, and the TV room downstairs (great for a movie break during mid day heat). There are some fun little restaurants (eg The Salty Mongoose) just down the road as well as a mini mart (Love City) and little cafe with coffee, breakfast sandwiches, and baked goods. All in all, it’s a wonderful rental. The only thing to bear in mind, as others have mentioned, is the bumpy dirt road on the way to the house. We had a Jeep and were fine, but it does require one.

We had such a wonderful vacation on St. John while staying at New Moon Escape. The house was perfect for us (myself, my husband, our 5 year old son and my sister). Jared was very responsive to all of my inquiries and very professional. It was so nice to have a private villa at such an affordable price. Very clean. Kitchen fully stocked. Appreciated the beach towels, chairs and beach toys. Pool was perfect after a day at the beach. Grounds are beautiful and we felt very safe. Dirt road to the house was a bit daunting at first but we took it slow with the potholes and it was fine (literally 5 min from main road). Very convenient having Love City Market 5 min away to stock up on groceries. Also house is within 5 min of several restaurants that we went to (Salty Mongoose, Aqua Bistro, Pizzabar in Paradise). Miss Lucy's a bit further but definitely worth it right on the water. St. John is beautiful! Visited a different beach each day and snorkeled (Trunk, Maho, Salt Pond, Hansen, Cinnamon). All within about 20-25 min drive from house. Saw sea turtles, sting rays, tropical fish, squid, hermit crabs. Even our 5 year old son was able to snorkel and enjoy all of the sea creatures! Such a special vacation! Thank you, Jared, for your hospitality! We hope to return some day!

This place was so nice . Pool was fabulous after day at the beach. Outside showers were great! We will rent again for sure. Super close to the Love City Market which is so helpful.

The home was lovely. Perfect for family with both little and older kids. Small little kids bedroom off the master and lower level for an older kid who wants more privacy. Beautiful landscaping. Great sized kitchen. Screened in porch and a nice deck and dipping pool.

This property was as described making it a great place to stay. We feel it was a good value providing us with a memorable vacation. The grounds and the pool were especially lovely and any questions we had were quickly addressed.

This house is perfect for those who want to get away and relax. Nice clean home, close to beaches and far enough away from other noise it’s completely quiet. Keri and Jared were more than helpful with planning activities and questions we had, I highly recommend this and other properties owned by Jared. It’s a win win

Great place with private pool. The pool was the biggest highlight. Lots of space. Quaint, nice open kitchen. Nice decorations. Loved the Bose sound system provided. The welcome book with local recommendations was very helpful. We saw a few cockroaches in the basement and one made it upstairs. Location is hard to get to, so take the drive slowly. It’s very rocky and bumpy. But it’s a small price to pay for privacy. Great screened in porch. Make sure you don’t let mosquitos into the house. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay!

The property was great for our family of four. The kids loved the pool and we loved the convenience to beautiful beaches. There are a few little local restaurants but they do close early (maybe due to covid). The surroundings are beautiful and incredibly scenic. The donkeys and goats, deer and roosters roaming the streets are were a treat to see! One small suggestion is would be to have a TV in the main house, there is one downstairs but it’s a seperate entrance. Our kids are a bit older (11 and 16) so not a concern but might be a little uneasy with younger kids (seperate entrance to that space) and not quite enough space on the sofa for a family to stretch out. Plus it’s just a nice convenience to have one on each level. Other than that everything was great! Would definitely stay again!

I wanted to love this place, but some of the issues were a bit overwhelming. I cannot recommend this place unfortunately. First, the location is in Coral Bay, but the road to the unit is a tough one. It takes a long time to navigate even in a Jeep because the road is unpaved and rocky terrain. I consider myself lucky I did not cut any tires. In case you’re wondering how to find the road, you find the dumpsters that smell like death and turn right. Yes, the smell never quite leaves you. The house itself is laid out ok but the biggest problem we had was with roaches. No, not sugar ants – we’re used to those on the island. These are big cockroaches. Open a drawer and they scatter. A lot of them. We kept our food in the fridge and the microwave to try to be safe but it was disgusting. The one bed off to the side was infested with tiny bugs which we believe are bedbugs. They were smaller than the sugar ants that are also on the sheets. We tried changing the sheets but they came back. The kids couldn’t sleep in the bed. The pool and deck are nice. The lighting is a nice touch and it was very convenient to have the pool to cool off. The basement was nice for the kids to use the TV (No TV in the main area of the house but not a big deal for us). The problem is that every time I went downstairs, I crunched on roaches. The person who showed us the house was very nice and as I said, I really wanted to like it. The problem of the infestation of bugs was just too great. I’ve stayed at other properties for years on STJ and I’ve never seen the amount of cockroaches I did here. I’m sorry guys, this one wasn’t for me.

We had an absolutely amazing week at the New Moon property. Everything about our stay was wonderful. The house was the perfect fit for my husband and myself, it was clean, in a quiet neighborhood, and had all the amenities of home. We would highly recommend visiting St. John and staying at his property!
