As one of the locals said "welcome to our paradise". Ferryville village is truly an amazing piece of paradise located on the cliffs overlooking the Mississippi River....and I believe we had one of the most amazing views in this cabin. We walked the country roads daily and found some of the nicest folks living in homes amongst some of the most beautiful, well kept prairie grass areas we have seen. We are already planning a trip back in cooler weather so we can spend more time in the hottub and sit by a fire at nighttime. The loft area is truly amazing...waking up to a beautiful view that was so carefully planned out with the huge picture window looking out over the river. Thank you for creating and sharing the perfect get away spot!

What a great place to celebrate another trip around the sun! The views were outstanding as was the cabin. Believe me, this is no ordinary cabin. The decor made it especially homey and everything matched so perfectly! It was like staying in a piece of art. Always something new to notice. Highlight was the hot tub, of course. It was especially great because our weather was cold and wet - so it was quite a contrast! It even snowed on us!
Our dog Smokey also loved it. He enjoyed our hikes and neighborhood walks. We hiked Effigy Mounds which also had amazing views. I can’t recommend this place enough. Can’t wait to go back!

The directions were spot on and easy. The cabin is absolutely amazing. The kitchen is well stocked with all the necessities. The view is unbeatable!

Nice, clean cabin. Little smaller living/kitchen area then what I thought based on the pictures on the website. Beautiful river views. Had a great time counting all the birds and admiring the docor. Would recommend.

This cabin was wonderful for our family of 3, with extra space had we each wanted to bring a friend. The eclectic decor fit our personalities so well! Clean and spacious, we could hang out together or find a personal space to curl up in.
It rained two of the days we were there, boy did we enjoy that hot tub!! The towel hooks, wooden shelf, and screen around the tub made for a very comfortable experience. I think the rainy days were our favorite. ☺️
If I had to list any negatives I would have to dig deep into my inner brat. Probably the gnats (I liked feeling like we weren’t surrounded by round up and pesticides) , but just slip in that screened porch and hop in that hot tub! Secondly, make sure you are packed, Ferryville is about a 10 minute drive. There is one gas station. It does have Ice, snacks, some alcohol, and a cheese counter. If they don’t have what you’re looking for (for us it was body lotion we had forgot) you will have to drive a ways to gat to stores.
Overall 10/10 for our family. We would absolutely go back.

We enjoyed our stay at Vista View. The weather turned out better than predicted, allowing us the opportunity to have happy hours & dinners on the deck and bonfires at sunset. The view is great & I’m sure it is even more beautiful after the trees have bloomed. We enjoyed a few dips in the hot tub & the neighborhood is very nice for taking walks, with friendly neighbors to chat with along the way.

The accomodations are perfect for a couple wanting a getaway or for a family. All the amenities you need. It's clear that the owners put in time making this rental a home: the kitchen, dens, and decor. It has only been one weekend stay and we have already suggested this home to many family members, friends and coworkers. We WILL be back the first chance we can as there are plenty of activities locally with welcoming community members. Thank you Todd and Donna- this is a stay that we will treasure in the years to come.

The accomodations are perfect for a couple wanting a getaway or for a family. All the amenities you need. It's clear that the owners put in time making this rental a home: the kitchen, dens, and decor. It has only been one weekend stay and we have already suggested this home to many family members, friends and coworkers. We WILL be back the first chance we can as there are plenty of activities locally with welcoming community members. Thank you Todd and Donna- this is a stay that we will treasure in the years to come.

Gorgeous retreat
The view is obviously key here. I couldn't stop staring out the windows. Feels like home away from home, if home had a hot tub on top of a mountain with sunsets overlooking Lake Winneshiek and the Mississippi.

We had everything we needed. Ate out once and grilled outside in a snow storm once. Hot tub and the view from all directions was spectacular. Close to many small towns and parks, plenty to do. Fantastic!!

My favorite part was the Spectacular View from not only the main level deck but also from a strategically placed picture window above which allowed you to wake up to the same Spectacular View in the Loft.

We had a wonderful time with our teens and our pup for a mini getaway to celebrate a birthday and have some time to explore the Mississippi River valley. The chalet was clean, (kids were nervous at first because it didn’t seem like a rental- too clean! they said, they were afraid we’d mess it up), well supplied for a family who likes to cook, and although not huge, had plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The view and the deck, however, were by far our favorite amenities! We loved dinner on the deck at night, and coffee in the morning watching the world wake up.
Was a nice place for our dog too. It was too hot to use the hot tub; but it was a nice set up. We hiked at Wyalusing, swam there too! Great place as a base to relax and explore!

Absolutely beautiful cabin tucked away. The views are incredible and the cabin is very well maintained. The kitchen is stocked and it had everything we needed. If you are looking to get away and relax, this is the place to go!

Beautiful escape

Weekend getaway
Super clean and cozy cabin, breathtaking view and very nice hot tub. Absolutely no complaints. Beatiful area and local bars are fun. Owners were very kind and responsive and easy to work with. Will definitely be coming back.

We really enjoyed our stay. The view was amazing. The deck setup was great as our dogs like to go in and out when its nice out. Because it was enclosed they could enjoy the outside a lot easier

This is an incredible property with the best sunsets around. We were visited by deer and wild turkeys and saw a couple of eagles too

The cabin is so cute and impeccably clean. The view is amazing. It was exactly what I needed.

Best place for a relaxing vacation.
Was just like it was advertised. Quiet and breathtaking. All we had to do was walk out onto the balcony and the view took all our troubles away. We are definitely going to come next year and bring another over worked couple with us. One of the best vacations we have had in a long time.

Wonderful change of scenery
After months of looking at the same walls, and a more extensive vacation cancelled due to the pandemic, we wanted to go somewhere close, but with a great location and not about "roughing it." We got it! The house was fully outfitted, had all the comforts of home, and a wonderful view. We didn't take advantage of either the hot tub (it was in the 90s) or the firepit, but we enjoyed most every other amenity on offer. It was a wonderful relaxing few days.

Great place to getaway
My girlfriends and I were to have a weekend away in March that was cancelled due to the coronavirus. We wanted to find something off the beaten path away from crowds of people and this place was absolutely perfect!
The house is definitely bigger in person than you'd think from the photos online. The decor was simply charming and inviting. The view over the river is postcardesque!
Todd was great and came to our rescue when we somehow tripped the GFI for the hot tub. We called him and he came over within 10 minutes and had us back to relaxing in no time. We later met his friend, Karen, (who gave us a quick history of Ferryville and charmed us all) and she sang he and Donna's praises as well.
We went into town on Friday evening for dinner and Sat afternoon and for lunch. Everyone was so friendly and we had great service & food everywhere we went! Highly recommend not only this property but the area as well.
Our #coronacation could not have been better!
