The house was well appointed and everything was thought out and well..., just comfortable. The setting was serene and relaxing, exactly what we were looking for.

We were looking for a place that was private and offered peace and tranquility. We found it! The cabin was very well appointed and felt like home. The bottle of wine and homemade bread was a very nice added touch. Lounging by the river, doing some fly fishing (or at least trying) all the while watching and listening to the birds and wildlife was total relaxation. Our trip was much too short and we will be back! We loved the area!

We had a great time staying at the Copper Fox Lodge. The property was beautiful and well kept both inside and out and the view of the river was awesome. Everything you could ever need and then some was provided with the home. We were sad to go. We highly recommend staying here.

We spent 3 nights at this beautiful property. Owners are very responsive and helpful. We hated to leave! Planning a return visit. Highly recommend!

This is an amazing property that offered everything we needed for a family getaway. Turkeys and deer walking through the property was awesome, as well as watching the mink play by the river. Fires at night with the rhythm of the Au Sable in the background is just what we needed. We look forward to visiting again.

Thanks so much for providing such a beautiful place to stay! The beauty of the grounds and cabin were outstanding. It was truly so serene and peaceful. We actually felt the stress just melt away upon our arrival, and the chilled bottle of wine was much appreciated! Two days just wasn’t long enough. We will be back!!

This is such a special place. It is absolutely lovely - nice and isolated and right beside the river. We were welcomed in the door by a fire on the fireplace, lamps lit, Christmas music playing - it was so cozy! I loved standing at the kitchen sink, watching the river go by. We were provided everything we needed to have a wonderful stay. Thanks Jeff and Beth!! I hope we can come back.

Copper Fox Lodge is simply Amazing! It was beautifully decorated, meticulously cared for and our stay was exceptional. The kitchen has every amenity needed and it was the cleanest cabin we have ever rented. The history of the cabin as outlined in the book on the coffee table was quite interesting. Copper Fox is within a short distance to all the Au Sable area has to offer. We love kayaking the Au Sable, fishing, and simply watching the river life pass by. I highly recommend this cabin and we will return in the future. Thanks to Jeff and Beth for sharing such a lovely cabin.

From the moment we arrived to soft lighting and mood music, to the moment of our departure with the AuSable bidding farewell, we felt as though we were honored guests. As owner Jeff Turner had promised, "Everything, everything, everything" was perfectly presented and thoroughly enjoyed. The grounds, the home, and all the appointments were immaculate and the décor was tasteful and elegant. We loved Copper Fox Lodge and we hope to return someday (as well as, perhaps, enjoy Gold Fox Lodge as well).

We wanted to escape the urban noise, chatter and nonsense and to witness the simplicity of tall pines and cedars, to re-energize. We found that and more. This cabin is seriously peaceful and Jeff and Beth are serious about making it a perfect place. It is comfortable beyond measure, beautiful beyond reason, and walking in the door for the first time is like going home. We did not want to leave. We have never given up our love of the stillness of the northern forests and firmly believe Ralph Waldo Emerson got it right: "In the woods we return to reason and faith." It rained on our last morning and we couldn't have had a better send-off; we took pictures of the rain falling off the roof, opened a window and listened to the music that rain produces, those interlocking melodies that heal wounds and make things grow. We did not want to leave. This place is a gift. Keep it close.

From the moment we drive in we were captivated. Copper Fox Lodge is truly a magical setting. The AuSable River is gorgeous and flows right below the cabin. Our cares simply washed away as we sat and watched the river and nature float by. It gets even better when you walk inside. The cabin is a dream. We’ve never seen furnishings this fine in any cabin rental – EVER. These owners have set the bar high in every respect. Comfort, comfort, comfort. We just couldn’t get over every detail that the owners addressed – they truly wanted to make our experience special – and it was. The river view from the cabin is to die for. We never wanted to leave. Private, serene, and romantic are perfect words. Pictures can not do justice to this place. Simply OUTSTANDING!

If you are looking for a perfect setting and lodge in Northern Michigan....THIS IS IT! Would be great in any season! BTW, I have never written a review before for other places booked through VRBO. This place is that good.

The website and pictures do not do this cabin and property justice. Perfectly maintained with every amenity you can imagine. The cabin is kept in pristine condition...so clean!! The beautiful Au Sable River is steps away, 2 fire pits, outdoor screened gazebo, fully equipped kitchen, grill. The owners made awesome recommendations for dining and canoe rental as well. I would stay here again in a minute!

This cabin is a true gem, the most welcoming place I've ever stayed in when heading north. I knew it was going to be a great place, and it still exceeded my expectations from the moment I entered! The lights were on, music playing, fireplace going, and a bottle of wine along with fresh-baked banana bread and welcome note awaited me. The cabin is decorated to perfection and by far the cleanest I have ever seen, and the bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept on. I went thru ten pounds of black sunflower seeds and peanuts, plus a wood pecker suet, all bought in town, and delighted in all of the bird species, Keeping track of what I saw, not to mention all of the different types of squirrels! I saw my first eagles, which was thrilling, along with great white egrets, flying by daily! I will definitely be back to stay at this little piece of heaven again, with my young-adult kids, hopefully late summer when we can try our hand at fishing! This is the perfect place to unplug. Thank you for being so generous and sharing it with visitors!

From the moment of pulling in we were in awe. I immediately said to my family, this looks better than the pictures. Everything from the landscaping to the color and tones of Copper Fox Lodge just melded and exceeded anything I could have even imagined what it was going to be. I already knew this was not going to just be a place sitting on the amazing AuSable River. This was going to be an experience to never be forgotten. And we had not even gotten to the door to step inside! Instantly upon opening the door the combination of wonderfully pleasant scents, light music, refreshing air, and turning to the rear of the cabin, the view of the AuSable River, put us into a euphoric state with huge smiles. Words could not be thought of at the moment. Upon further examination, Copper Fox Lodge is kept immaculately clean. The attention to detail cannot be rivaled. Everything we thought we needed was there. I want to thank Jeff and Beth for accommodating us and working with me to deliver the perfect setting for an unforgettable experience that will not be my last at Copper Fox Lodge. I also want to thank Laurie and Rob for all of the hard work they put in on this property. It absolutely shows from the moment you get out of your vehicle, walk inside, and even once back home when we start asking each other if we noticed the different aspects we found absolutely amazing. Oh and by the way, I forgot to mention, the view and surrounding wilderness of the AuSable River at Copper Fox Lodge are second to none. It was my 1st trip to the AuSable River, and parts of the family I was able to experience this with have been coming up here since 1980, and they were blown away with the scenic beauty of Copper Fox. The pictures that are posted honestly don't do it justice. From ownership to housekeeping, this is a group of people that you can tell truly care about the quality of your AuSable River experience, take pride in the property they own/take care of, and are just amazing people to interact with.
