My wife and I stayed here for 5 days to celebrate our anniversary. The house is very well maintained and very clean. We lived that it was literally on the beach. Location was fantastic! It was on a quiet area of the beach, yet still very close to the bars, restaurants and shops. In fact we would be only a short 4 min walk on the beach from the Blue Parrot tiki bar, which we would go to daily. Try their “Sandblaster” frozen drink! Trust me you’ll thank me later! We even saw Dolphins daily while sitting on the sand or in the water right in front of our rental. We also saw sea turtles and a large Manta. It was truly a magical experience! St. George Island was rated the #1 beach in the U.S. and I definitely agree. The sand is like sugar and the water is clear with no rocks or seaweed. And you can walk out 50 yards and still be in only 4 or 5 feet of water. We absolutely love this place! In fact we have decided to make it an annual tradition for our Anniversaries.

We loved waking up to the sound of the waves and having direct access to the sandy shore just steps from the door.The house itself was immaculate and exceptionally clean. It was clear that the hosts put a lot of thought into ensuring the home was well-maintained and welcoming. Every detail was considered, from the comfortable furnishings to the well-stocked kitchen that had everything we could have needed or wanted. Whether we were cooking a family meal, relaxing in the spacious living room, or enjoying a book on the deck, we felt right at home.The amenities were top-notch as well. We appreciated the fast Wi-Fi, ample towels and linens, and the variety of beach gear available for our use. The house also had plenty of space for our entire group to spread out and enjoy ourselves.One of our favorite parts of the stay was the breathtaking sunrises we watched every morning from the patio. It truly felt like a little slice of paradise. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful, yet conveniently close to shops, restaurants, and the lighthouse, making it an ideal spot for both relaxation and exploration.Overall, this beach house exceeded all our expectations. Our stay was great. We celebrated my brother and his wife's 50th wedding anniversary. We were able to bring our pups with us. The weather was great. The water was the perfect temperature. Great sunrise!! We recommend Paddy's Raw Bar and Blue Parrot. We also recommend Lou's Beer, Wine & Charcuterie in Apalachicola. We will be back.

We had a four-family reunion in 2 homes that were about 4 houses apart. Access to the beach was great! Beach equipment was delivered, as promised. Very nice beach decor. We loved having our dogs vacation with us. Narrow, steep steps were challenging for our older guests, as was access to the bathtub in the master bedroom. Property is in need of updating, especially the kitchen, grill, and master bathtub.

Right out the door to the beach with two nice decks also with a pet gate made it nice to bring our little pug.

We made last minute reservations for a quick family getaway after my mother-n-law's funeral, and our escape to Abiding Place was wonderfully healing! It was such a bright, happy beach house and the location was perfect! We are planning on making it yearly trip! Thank you!!!

The house Abiding Place was a very pleasant place to stay while visiting St. George. Nicely decorated, furniture in good condition, and well-equipped kitchen. Only issue was toilet in master bedroom (lower level) sometimes took several tries to fully flush. But not enough of an issue to contact property management over it. Generally water pressure seemed low.

My wife and I enjoyed our brief stay. The house is “as advertised”…clean, nicely decorated and in good shape. It’s conveniently located near the center of the island. All in all very pleasant. A couple of relatively minor and easy to address issues: 1. We could not get the ice maker to stop making ice, so the freezer had to be emptied every couple of days. 2. The front door to the house does not seal shut so it whistles when the wind blows. 3. The Wif-Fi needs to be upgraded, even with just two of us and a few devices, it was hard to stream on movie. Nonetheless, this is a nice house and has a great location.

This property is exactly like the online pictures! Right on the beach and a short walking distance to most things on the island. The property was clean, stocked, and easily accessible. The chairs setting out on the deck were nice quality and made relaxing on the desk a pleasure. During our stay a light bulb was out and the property owners called to see if we needed it fixed. Overall a great place to spend a nice vacation. Will definitely be going back!

We had a great time at Abiding Place. The location is perfect for riding bikes and golf carting to all the local restaurants and shops. The view from the living area was breathtaking! Can't wait to visit SGI again!

Why only 7/10?Outlets on porches didn’t work properly. This made sitting on the porch almost impossible after 10am for us and people in our group that are disabled. Also, the beach canopy under the porch is unusable.

The rental was one of a few dozen adorable "pencil houses". The 3 levels of deck facing the ocean were an absolute treat! We loved that the rental was pet friendly and that the owners included a gate inside as well as a gate on the deck to help corral the pups. Our kids loved the beach gear that had been left by previous families. The location was fantastic and we truly enjoyed this beautiful island. Would absolutely recommend this location!

Abiding Place is excellently positioned, looking directly at the beach with just a short stroll over it's own personal boardwalk to the sandy shores. It is also within walking distance to several restaurants and stores - once we arrived, we simply strolled around the island to go to dinner at all the dog-friendly restaurants. It is a three-level home, so beware those who struggle with stairs. The home was generally in good shape for being a rental on the beach, but everything felt just a little damp. That may be hard to avoid. We did have a couple of hard thunderstorms and one of the windows in the master bedroom (which we never opened) leaked a LOT of water. Just FYI if the owners see this! The kitchen and main level were very nice and well-stocked. The best things were - we got to bring our sweet pup to the beach for the first time, stay right on the water, and she played and ran like it was her happy place! We even got our two teens in on the action. That is all totally worth it :)

This is the perfect place with being steps away from the beach and a great view. Also it is a 5 minute walk to Sparks and Son Grocery store (highly recommend and nice folks). Also I would recommend Paddy’s Raw Bar which is also 10 minute walk. Everything is walking distance that you need at your stay. The townhome has plenty of room and very clean.

Right on the gulf. main level porch elevated for wonderful view. Privacy screen helps with very close neighbors. Bring your own skillet if you want to eat in. Lots of stairs.

Love the location and the property - hope to come back
Just like pictures showed. Perfect location, central to all we needed and close hop over to Appalachicola. The most dog friendly town I've ever seen. Beautiful beach with low crowds even though we were there just prior to holiday. A bit of sand around but that's to be expected in a beach spot. Very roomy in the living space. Easy beach access right down the catwalk. Parking excellent. Great decks and views. Coffee pots and ice maker worked well as did blender. Toaster iffy. Master tub had slow drain. Washer and dryer worked great. Pillows could be replaced but beds slept well. Be sure to bring extra paper products and trash bags. Good storage under decks for beach items with a few extra there to share. Convenient hose for rinsing as well as outdoor shower. Piggly wiggly express ok but big pig across the bridge better. Bring what you can with you. Did struggle a bit with the remotes to a couple of tvs and wifi a bit spotty at times. But I would definitely abide here again in the future. Even though we could hear neighbors when out on decks, all were friendly and we had a wonderful time. Probably the best place we have ever stayed really.

met all expectations
Fantastic experience. Perfect location. No complaints. Except for one; it's important to note that all these properties are in a row with little room between them. Decks are no more than 30 yards apart. The first six days were divine; got up early before the rest of the family, went out on the deck, and had coffee and breakfast. Read for hours. Napped. If any neighbor was out on their deck that early, they were very hushed. It was quiet and peaceful. On the last morning, I did the same, except an extended family moved into the unit beside ours and gathered on their deck; they were very loud and made virtually no attempt to keep their voices down. I could hear every word of their conversations, exclamations, plans, praises, and complaints. Country music, too. I was happy that I wasn't staying another week with those people right next door, only thirty yards away. I felt bad for the folks who would be moving in that day after we checked out. It's a crapshoot as to who stays next to you for your chosen days. This was a wonderful unit for my family. Just something to consider when you choose to rent in this row of identical rentals.

We've stayed in these East Gulf Rd cottages many times. This unit was in the best shape of any that we stayed in. Very well kept and decorated in adorable beachy ambiance. Location could not be better. Right on the beach. Truly special!

Beautiful Condo, great location!
We have stayed here multiple times, once in a Tropical Storm! This time, the weather was beautiful. We love that this place is an easy walk to Blue Parrot, Paddy's Raw Bar, and Aunt Ebby's Ice Cream, but still is right on the beach. Good value for the price. Would stay again.

CUTE BEACH FRONT ONLY A FEW STEPS TO THE BEACH
God blessed our family with a sweet retreat. Excellent view of the beach and ocean from family room and master bedroom. Very comfortable floor plan. Lots of sitting area in the family room. Walk to restaurants, shops, lighthouse and grocery store.
