The biggest attraction is the short walk to the beach and to the heart of the town. The house is set back from New Orleans street making it quieter, but eliminating the opportunity to interact with passers by while relaxing on the deck. The renovations are great and the property is very clean! The kitchen is big enough and the air-conditioning is first rate having simple remote controls for each area. The drawbacks are the deflated couch and the small beds in the upstairs master bedroom. Overall, we enjoy our time there and would return again next season.

Great stay! It’s our second year and we love the rental and the location and that it allows our pets to join us on our vacation. JD was great at communicating with us and look forward to our next stay!

We had a little trouble gaining access, because I didn't know that the owner would send a separate email with the info. I assumed everything would come from the VRBO app as all the ones I had rented in the past. Once we got that sorted out, the place was fine for the weekend and was close to the beach which is what we wanted.

It was a great stay. Very clean. It was off in a little alley type area and very quiet.

This property is advertised for 6 people, however, it would better suited for 4 people. There are 2 bedrooms, so it's tight for 6 people (especially 6 adults). The kitchen is tiny, but it is good enough to prepare breakfast and lunch. There are 2 bathrooms with showers and a small living room. JD is a great host and the convenience to the beach and downtown Dewey is awesome! You don't need your car once you're there!

This was a great property to spend our family vacation!

We rented this house with our small dog for long weekend. The communication with host was quick, easy and helpful from beginning to end. The house is clean, small and minimalistic. The proximity to dog friendly beach and a beautiful beach at that was amazing. We found that no regular tv but having to use youtube for basic tv a big turnoff. Overall the stay was very good.

The place was very comfortable for 2 adults and three teens and 2 dogs. Quick and easy beach access. Really good restaurants right around the corner.

Great house with a phenomenal location.

This was our second time renting this property. The place is exactly as advertised. The house is in an excellent location and is just what we needed. Steps to the beach and steps to great restaurants. The house was clean on arrival and the space was perfect. We utilized the kitchen majority of our stay which had all the essential items needed to make a meal. J.D. gave us valuable information about Dewey's off season dog policy and we were able to bring our dog along! Looking forward to booking again!

Good townhouse type place for about 3 or 4 people. I think more than 4 would be cramped unless you only plan to be here to sleep. There was an issue with an ac unit leaking water that seemed to be going on for a long time before we got there so the place felt a little damp, I alerted the owner about it so hopefully it will be fixed for the next person. Parking is fine in the off season, but during the busy season I imagine you will have a hard time squeezing in due to proximity of other cottages. Beds were pretty firm, furniture has stains (but hey it's pet friendly just so you know), the back of the house is near some dumpsters for two restaurants so the employees make a loud racket throwing bags into it around 11pm. You can look down at the dumpsters from the rear of the balcony but the front part you can see the roof tops of the beachfront houses so that's better. Overall, basic spot, you're paying to be ocean-block side and being able to walk everywhere is awesome.

The place was exactly as described and JD was super responsive over email when needed. It was great to be within walking distance of so many restaurants as well as the beach and have a place we could stay with our dogs, which were able to join us at the beach because it was the off season (we stayed end of Sept/early Oct). Hope to make this an annual vacation and would be more than pleased to stay at this property again if we do.

Good place for three teens and one adult. It was a little smaller than I expected. But the location made it all worthwhile. The supplies that were available when we arrived were very helpful.

First the Parking; Good luck getting two cars on this property during the summer, with the other half of the duplex taking spots, and the properties around you (behind) taking spots you will be trapped knocking on doors when you have to get out, if you have a truck forget it, two mid size vehicles forget it, the neighbors park so far on your side (because of angle) you will not get two in. Then you have to back out over 80 yards making for an interesting process getting in and out. Once in the duplex the space is tight, if you have small children, pets with small legs, or any elderly forget it; the steps are out of a "home alone scene" extremely steep, extremely! The upstairs bedroom has a hodgepodge of beds that resemble a homing shelter. The downstairs shower in not for adults, you will not be able to turn around, smaller than a sleeping capsule in Japan. The back door of the property is a total loss, it faces the back of restaurant where the trash is thrown and the employees gather to smoke. The front of the property is on top of additional properties. Don't mention you have a pet (if small) when asked "who will be staying with us" the owner throws on additional pet and cleaning charges! The surrounding properties that will trap you in so you cannot leave are also rented, so if they like to party you will also be partying with them all night, because you will pass 5 properties on your way in. During our stay we had an AC unit that leaked (these units are in each room), we did not complain because the situation was manageable. I get home to the owner JD asking me what temp we had set and if I knew the the unit leaked! never asked how the stay was! This place is below average at best, I would not recommend this property.

Property was clean and in a great location

J.D. was extremely responsive and super helpful! The house is super clean, a short distance to the beach and has almost everything you need for your stay. I had a wonderful birthday getaway...we will definitely rent again in the near future!

Wonderful location--steps from the beach and right across the street from the Starboard. Property was clean and well-kept. My only complaint was the downstairs bed (bottom full-size bunk) was horrendously uncomfortable. If you have a mattress pad to bring along with you, I would do so. I can also see how the next-door restaurant would be noisy during the high season. It was fine during our stay, but something to consider, especially if you stay there with children.

JD was very responsive to our needs. Quiet, peaceful area close to the beach, very relaxing.

We stayed at this property with our dog Teddy during the last week of September 2020. This was our first visit to the Dewey beach and greatly enjoyed the beautiful beach as well as the location of the property. The owner J.D. was always promptly responded to our question and was very kind to accommodate our request to check out at a later time. We would definitely go back to this place.
