This was our second trip to Maui and I wish we had found this place for the first one! We were traveling for my 40th birthday and I’m glad we stayed here! The property itself is beautiful and right on the water. The grounds are well kept and the staff is very helpful. The condo itself is well kept, clean and very bright. We loved the floor to ceiling mirrors throughout; it means that we rarely needed to turn on a light because the natural light keeps the unit well lit into the evening. The wraparound porch is perfect and lets you sit outside (in the shade if need be) all day long if your heart desires. You can walk up the beach about 5 minutes to Black Rock and down the beach a minute to Whalers Village. There’s plenty of shopping and restaurants there and even a coffee place with great açaí bowls that opens at 7am. A good option if you don’t feel like driving or didn’t rent a car. We were near everything; 10 mins drive from downtown Lahaina Town and 15 minutes from Ziplines near the Ritz Carleton. We were only 2-3 minutes drive from Airport Beach (great snorkeling) and only a few minutes further from Napili beach. Heather was really wonderful and quick with communication when responding to questions. We were traveling with some tired kids so it was reassuring to have such an accommodating host. Be sure to read through the documentation that the host provides! It’s really helpful especially to those who may not be as familiar with the area.

WOW! What an amazing unit. We were directly ocean front with a gorgeous view of Lanai, Molokai and the ocean. You can’t get any closer. Our condo was equipped with everything you could want. Beach chairs, 2 umbrellas and coolers. As a family of four it was super convenient to have a washer and dryer (laundry detergent included)! My son stayed out a little too long and had a nice burn on his shoulders and guess what? Aloe Vera gel in the condo!! Beds were super comfy. Kitchen has everything you need to cook in. The owners were very responsive and great to deal with. Can’t say enough about this place. Will definitely book again.

This condo has the best views, the best location and is everything the pictures show. Best vacation EVER!

We loved everything about our 9-day stay (except when we had to leave….). The unit offers the most spectacular corner view that includes Ka’anapali Beach, Black Rock, Lanai, and Molokai, and, even in mid-April, we saw whales. Next door were fabulous restaurants (Hui Grill, Monkeypod, Leilani’s, etc.) as well as some fun stores. The condo had everything we could possibly need from binoculars to a washer and dryer. We all commented on how well we slept on the VERY comfortable beds. Clean, upscale, home-away-from-home, well-designed, and relaxing are all descriptors that come to mind. The owner is delightful and does everything in her power to ensure your perfect stay. Mahalo and we can’t wait to return!

We have been to Kaanapali several times. This was our first time staying at the Whaler. We were very happy we picked this location. The views were incredible. The condo was perfect for our family of 4. I cannot think of a better location to stay when in Maui.

It was wonderful

I have stayed at the Whaler annually since 1976 in many different units, so this is a well informed review. Pros: The 52 stack is unquestionably the best (ocean front, shade on lanai, courtyard view, tower 2 is slightly closer to the beach). The fifth floor is ideal (low enough to feel connected to the beach and use the stairs but high enough that those walking by can’t see into your unit). Bedroom decor is nice. Roller shades are a bonus. New patio doors are awesome. NHL network! Cons: Slatted doors to bedrooms don’t make any sense. No sound proofing is a huge inconvenience if people in your party have different sleep schedules. Wear and tear starting to show, particularly millwork in kitchen area. Overall cleanliness could be improved. Two queens (or at least the option of two twins instead of king) would be better in the second bedroom.

Would definitely return the accommodations exceeded our expectations, the owner was very attentive and responsive. I have already recommended this property to friends and family. It was truly an amazing vacation experience. Thank you, Heather.!

Location, Views, Decor, amenities.... All fabulous. The views are so great that we literally felt like we were at the beach while inside the unit. The home was spotless and well stocked with every kitchen item needed. Heather was a thoughtful host and provided a wonderful list of places to eat, things to do and see on the island. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Definitely a place to stay for the discriminating client. Thank you Heather!

I can’t imagine any place better to stay on Maui. The pictures are really great and they don’t even illustrate how awesome this condo is~ the corner view and huge balcony are paradise. The extra amenities included are very thoughtful and added a lot to the overall comfort and convenience… shampoo/conditioner/body wash in both bathrooms, large beach bag, 4 nice beach chairs, coolers, snorkel gear, etc. The owner responds quickly to messages too. We were sad to leave and wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else if (when!) we come back to Maui.

I was amazed at the view it has to be the best on kaanapali beach. Everything in the room was well updated and very clean. Very large room. And the owner was very easy to work with. I would highly recommend.

We enjoyed our stay at this property. It is so close to so many places. The beach is fantastic and the facilities were everything we needed for our stay. The host was very quick to respond and so lovely. Great vacation!

Great condominium beautiful view great location doesn’t get any better

Just got home from stay in this condo in Kaanapali. I would strongly recommend staying here for anyone visiting Maui and wanting to stay in this area of the island. The condo is in probably the best location in Kaanapali. Black Rock Beach is wide and beautiful. No rocks in water. Nice walking path along beach right in front of condo that goes for more than a mile in each direction. Perfect west facing condo for a perfect sunset every night. The complex is right next to Whaler Village for easy access to restaurants and shopping. Easy access to golf. The condo complex has a nice pool. Not as big and fancy as the large hotels but also not as crowded. Nice fitness room. Tennis and pickle ball included with resort fee. The condo is well stocked with everything from grilling equipment, snorkeling equipment, first aid kit, etc. Fully stocked kitchen. Wrap around porch with exceptional views. The check-in process was easy. Heather (the host) was great. She sent helpful information prior to check-in and e-mailed to make sure evrything was as expected. She was quick to answer questions.

This place is absolutely amazing! It's just as described, and looks *better* in person than it does in the pictures. My family stayed for a week, and couldn't be happier with it's location: tranquil enough for my elder parents, but close enough for fun for my active 7 year old. When I had questions, Heather was prompt with her replies - a great host. Overall, a perfect stay in Maui!

Our experience was wonderful! Would absolutely stay here again! It is as close as you can get to the beach! And the views! Wow! Incredible! The condo was in great shape, the beds were very comfortable. We miss being right on the Pacific Ocean!

My family of five just returned from staying at this property and it was even better than the pictures. The location and proximity to the beach, restaurants, shopping and other resorts was great. Everything was exactly as advertised and check-in and communication with Heather was super smooth. I’d return in a heartbeat!

The views from the wrap around patio were just amazing views of the ocean and Black Rock. The location was a short walk to Whalers Village. We just loved this condo and would book again if we return to Maui.

I did the research. If you are looking to stay on Kaanapali and you are thinking of this place. Stop! This is the one. Great views, great balcony for sunsets, great location and everything you could every imagine. The owners lays out great recommendations! A+. We miss it already.

The view from this condo is amazing! It's clean, spacious and in a great location. We really enjoyed our stay.

Our family of 5 had a great time staying at this 5th floor corner, ocean-front condo! There was a snag with check-in, but this was resolved with a quick call to Heather, who picked up when we called and was available yet not obtrusive (just a few messages via VRBO to check to see if we needed anything). We had plenty of space for the 5 of us, especially with our 11 year old sleeping on the cot, which he said was comfortable. The kitchen had plenty of appliances and cabinets more stocked than most short-term rentals we've been in. The furniture showed only mild wear and tear and the condo was very clean. The balcony is just amazing, wrapping around the ocean side to the inner side. There were 4 beach chairs & 2 umbrellas, which were handy, and we also used the snorkel gear (there were 2 sets). There was only 1 boogie board, but not a big deal. Wifi was a bit slow but adequate. The Smart TVs have the usual streaming services available. Having laundry on-site was super convenient. The location of the Whaler is outstanding, just next door to some shopping and restaurants. It's a 0.3 mile walk along the boardwalk to Black Rock and about 1 miles walk South past the other various resorts. Underground parking was a nice perk so that we didn't have to get into a blazing hot rental car. They also had 2 tennis courts (bookable reservations) and daily koi feeding. We didn't try out the gym. The pool is only modestly-sized, but was kept super warm (I'd guess 80-82 degrees if not higher). It was our first time in the Kaanapali part of Maui. We found the Kaanapali Beach nice, but with fairly large surf on many days. Even during what I would guess is a peak Spring Break week, Kaanapali Beach never felt crowded (unlike Kapalua Beach, which we checked out 1 morning). Nearby "Baby Beach" was outstanding for snorkeling -- our kids had a blast identifying lots of fish & following turtles around and we felt safe as the waves were minimal and the water shallow even many 100 feet out. All in all a great trip!
