This was a great holiday getaway. Property is exactly as seen in the pictures. We arrived to a clean, cool home with the air conditioning and ceiling fans on awaiting our arrival. Our daughter also appreciated the snack selection that was prepared as an arrival gift, a very nice touch. Thanks for a great time... and oh yes, the horses did visit us.

I had no idea I picked a location that we needed 4-wheeler drive to get to the house I am glad this adventure happened because I was forced to face some fears It was beautiful and the horses were all over...I would really like to go back but my fears might not let me

I waited to leave a review to think on it a bit If you are looking for a relaxing beach this isnt it The only access to the house is the beach its a highway people driving 4 wide at 35mph on the beach wizzing by like its rush hour you cant relax. The beach is no where in sight of the house its way farther back in the wooded area if u didnt know u drove thier on the beach you wouldn't know it was thier. Second really disappointed in the cleanliness of the house especially for being shoulder season its very dirty it really needs a deep deep cleaning i know from previous stays at other places in busy season some things get missed its hard to be perfect in a short amount of time. The hot tub smelled like bleach maybe its the well water unsure.... also the water presssure is very very light in the shower which was not a great experience... the listing shows satellite tv i asked if it worked all that was avaliable was amazon tv u needed an account for and the tv in the living room area isnt smart enough to run netflix so tv options were limited.... positives we saw wild horses we had to drive and look for them but they are around..... all the places ive been im not sure i would go back for a beach vacation here it was not very relaxing..... also for being charged for cleaning and a dog fee for cleaning i expect a clean house.... we had something going on at home and were not enjoying the house so we decided to leave early.

Other than a few issues with cigarette butts in a citronella candle and outlet issues and having power unsure if that was related to the weather. a few spots where cleaning hadn’t been done. and due to the extreme flooding the stay was overall pleasant until the day we left which was Easter. I had to study and do assignments for a course and stayed up very late and unfortunately woke up late and so we were late leaving the location. when i approached the cleaning crew that had arrived I explained why we had woke up late and would need just a bit of time. she’s asked how much time and I asked for 30 minutes. she said “no F you it’s easter! get your sh*t and get the F out.” needless to say i contacted the owners prior to this conversation and requested a call as they continued to be very rude. Layed on their horns, threatened to call the cops were aggressive toward the children i had staying with me. 3 14 year old girls, myself and my sister. when we left one man said good go the F back to ohio! well I explained to the owners and he was nice that i understood it was the holiday, also easter is about Jesus, I also knew they had guests after us. I did offer to pay for my error. but no one should ever ever be treated like that especially an area dependent on tourism. I actually grew up in SC and that is not southern hospitality nor is in professional in any manner. Terrible way to end a vacation for a nurse who desperately needed to experience the good in the world.

The property was just as listed. It was beautiful and the host were amazing! We will hopefully be back soon!

I love the beach in November. This was the perfect girls getaway. The house was private, had plenty of space for us, and a big enough kitchen to cook all the meals. The hot tub was a hit, would definitely stay again!

This experience well exceeded our expectations. We needed some R and R and this location was a bullseye. The house was really cozy, the hot tub gave us a spectacular view of the stars. The Carova Beach experience was excellent. We will be back and rent a Jeep again for the beach drive. Thank you Renee and Dan!!!

We wanted something away from the tourist traps, and this place delivered. The weather was amazing and the only disappointment the entire trip was having to pack up and go home. Thanks for a wonderful vacation!

If I could give 10☆ I would😍!! Rene and Dan have an awesomeeee house and are great hosts. The house is even better then the pictures. The hot tub was super clean and beyond relaxing. The wild horses came right up and under the decks in the yard. They have lots of cool games, there was plenty to do. The weather and beach were perfect. Driving on the beach was super awesome as well. We meet some locals who we now are friends with and keeping in touch with each other, so cool...Honestly it's like a unreal fantasy dream, but it's soo incredibly real and gorgeous...🌙🐎🐠🐚⛱️🌊⭐️! Can't wait to book again for next year, think it will be a two week vacation this time...Thank you for everything and opening your breathtaking house and 4x4 beachs to us....Soo in love with OBX...❤🥰❣️!! This home was absolutely perfect! The location was what we expected and the cleanliness was exceptional. We didnt use the hot tub, as it was too hot, but also had a strong bleach odor. Plenty of room for 8 adults and 1 child for 2 nights and 6 adults and 1 child the other 5. Loved the beach as well as the horses who came to visot the home twice during our week. We were locked out at one point (our error) and we got in touch with Rene in a matter of minutes. Exceptional vacation and we will be back! Thank you so much.

This was our second time at Horse Inn Around & the Outer Banks & it is truly our FAVORITE beach vaca !! The house is great! The horses are great! The beach is great ! Dan & Renee are great ! The hot tub is great ! Most unique remote beach destination!! House has everything you need!! our 8 year old granddaughter has the time of her life here ! We had the best time this week. The owners were so prompt in responding to our messages. Our kids enjoyed seeing the horses eat in the backyard and our dogs loved playing ball on the beach. We loved it so much we already booked our week for next July!!

Really enjoyed this trip with our family. We hope to come back again in the future.

This is the second year we ha e stayed at this house. The location is great and we had everything we needed. I would recommend that they do a deep cleaning a couple times a year as there was a lot of dust on the cabinets and behind the beds etc. Overall it was a great stay.

Very secluded you diffidently will see horses. And a 11 mile drive on the beach to get to property..My daughter just graduated from high school and she loves horses, so I thought it would be a great idea to go the outer banks and see the wild horses.Perfect! House was very clean and comfortable! If you want to make plans to mayjor towns it takes at least 40 min drive on the beach speed limit is 15 mph.Make sure you get gas and gricery store before you go on beach assess to get to property! Enjoyed are stay! We would diffidently come back! Thank you!

First of all the pictures don’t show how amazing the house truly is! We didn’t read the ad and realize that we needed linens such as towels and sheets. We were able to survive though we only stayed two nights. Communication was excellent between the property owner. It’s a pretty long drive down the beach so be prepared bring food to get by, the hot tub is really nice. We did see a horse on the property and it’s secluded which we really liked!

This is a good place to stay for a week.

The host is incredible. Hands down. The property is an adventure to get to and everything we wanted from a beach vacation. We made beautiful beach drive in our Subaru day in and day out, tide in and tide out. We loved the memories made staying outside of town, visiting the towns, driving on the beach, exploring the islands, seeing wild horses every day, and new things we learned. On the way to the house, we pressured down tires to 20 psi, which takes less than 10 minutes, made it no problem. High tide we had to take some back routes, which everyone does and made it every time. Free air is available right where the pavement starts to pressure backup for longer drives. Food Lion is easy to get to and the host recommended some great places to visit. If you like to make memories, ready for the beach mindset and are open to adventures…this is the place. Age ranges from 65 to 3…everyone had a blast.

Wonderful host!!! House was great, clean,and had more stuff to use then listed. We had a wonderful stay. Highly recommend visiting Carova Beach 🏝️ lots of horses 🐎 visiting the house yard and around the neighborhood.

Relaxing

A very peaceful stay. We saw many horses along the beach as well as on the back roads. The four wheeling was a blast.

We had a great time in our vacation! We loved driving on the beach, getting in the hot tub, and seeing all the horses! The new decks were nice to relax on. The owners were so nice and he let us bring all of our dogs! There were issues with the AC and a broken board and they were fixed promptly. We had wonderful shrimp from the farmers market. Great fried chicken from the chicken coop. Make sure you bring all of your grocery items because getting to town is a haul. We also had fun on a rainy day at the indoor arcade and souvenir shopping. We didn’t hear a single car from our house- we really enjoyed the sounds of the ocean and the quiet. It was a nice getaway. We would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a secluded, quiet getaway!!!!

Entry lights did not work, shower was worse than a locker room - had mildew and had plainly not been cleaned in a long while. Stove had dog hair on surface, sofa was sticky and covered in sand, floors were sandy, king mattress had huge drop in center, we called manager and was told no one could come clean- I had to clean the house before we could use shower, kitchen. We tried to get another house and could not, so we had to stay. Would not recommend this property. Owner said they would refund cleaning fee and $100 and has not as of today 5/20/2023.

Absolutely gorgeous, nestled in the trees. Beautiful woodwork. Design lifting upward with unique windows that shaped the sunlight. Comfortable and restful. Porches off bedrooms and living room that portered closeness with nature - to hear the ocean! I long to return and will.

We had a great time. Great private location in the 4x4 area just a short walk/ride to the beach. Hosts were great communicators, empathetic and accommodating. Would recommend this rental to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway spot in the OBX.

Very nice vacation home, we enjoyed the peace and quiet, so relaxing. The hot tub was a plus, the beach was beautiful and watching the horses walk the dunes was amazing. Highly recommend staying here, we will be back!!

This house had everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. We especially enjoyed the games and the fire pit. The location is perfect to enjoy all that Carova has to offer. We loved seeing the horses and enjoying the beach. Can’t wait to return.
