The property felt fairly clean but as previous reviews have stated had an odor which I guess is understandable in an older house in a rainy climate. The kitchen was nice but had odd items in the refrigerator and cabinet. Much of which was expired food. It felt like you were spending some time in a friend's place, not a property that is meant for renters only. The description isn't clear that you have to walk up a full flight of stairs to get into the property. Luckily we had strong, young family members with us to help us get the heavy luggage up the stairs. The description states there are three parking spaces, but we had one as a truck was parked in the driveway. Not a big deal since there is street access to parking.

We had to get Mr. Larry's phone number from VRBO because we were not given the door code ahead of time. We arrived at 4:05, check in was supposed to be ready at 4, but we noticed with our VRBO's in Alaska that people don't give the information early, and that is a little frustrating. When we called Mr. Larry, he was a little startled and did give us the code and he was nice; I think he may have forgotten which day we were checking in. There were plenty of dishes, towels, etc. It was nice and quiet. There are no room darkening blinds or curtains and some of the blinds are older and bent. Because they are white...it was definitely too light for sleeping. Fortunately we had masks but it was still slightly difficult for sleeping. Thankful for the laundry area and large kitchen area as we were 2 couples. This is an older property; one of the sofas was heavily worn -could use some updates, but again it was a good place to sleep.

This location is very close to highway access which was a huge plus! House was clean and as listed.

This property was clean and the kitchen well stocked with condiments and such. There was a noticeable smell, animal dander or possibly something else that irritated my children’s allergies and we had to rebook else where.

We had a great time staying in this home. We ventured all around Alaska and were comfortable returning to this home for our nightly stays!

Overall, it is a nice place to stay. The property is showing it’s age and could use some updates. The neighborhood is a bit run down but consistent for the area. Larry was very communicative and that was appreciated. We would consider staying here, again.

Very nice property. There was 9 adults and 1 toddler. The property had everything we needed.

My family really enjoyed staying in this house. If we ever make it back to Alaska we will stay here again.

At first glance this home is very nice. Upon closer inspection it is obviously well used and also well maintained. Everything worked properly and the kitchen was decently stocked with utensils for cooking. All in all a pleasant stay for my family.

Larry was communicative and hospitable. We slept 7 people comfortably, and the location was very convenient.

The poor rating is because a week before we arrived I reached out to confirm everything and let him know what time we would be to the rental. I was told I would get the code when I got there. After traveling all day from Southern California, we got to the property and no one was home downstairs, the phone number didn’t allow messages and it took about 3 hours to get the entry code. This was after I called VRBO for help and they couldn’t reach the owner either. He did apologize but the stress of feeling stranded with nine people for a few hours made the day very unpleasant.

Stayed with family and friends, Larry is very good host, responded to all my queries on timely manner. Only concern we had was rooms did not have blackout curtains which can be addressed easily.

The property is well-maintained, clean, has plenty of kitchen supplies, and space for our family of seven.

It was pretty good but only thing made us uncomfortable is the odd smelling in some bed rooms.

Finding the place wasn’t Problem. Lots of space in the house was a little dated place to stay. The tv took time to figure out. There was parking for two cars which was good. The carpet was vacuumed in all rooms. There was a Oder that bothered us we found out that it came from the mops so we put them on the patio was good after that. Don’t know why but the neighbors on one side made a fire in a pit and left it smoldering for few hours. Altogether This was a last minute available place to stay

I stayed here with my dad and 5 brothers in which we all enjoyed it, 3 of us were from Texas and the rest flew in from New Mexico. At first we we thought the neighborhood was a little suspect but we had no issues the whole time we were there. The place was nice and cozy, enough space to accommodate us all. Very clean and well maintained. Amenities were nice, it was nice to have a grill to use. Larry the owner was very helpful and quick to respond with whatever requests or concerns we had. Overall, we could see ourselves booking here again for our next trip back to Alaska, thanks again Larry!!
