Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great time at Corolla. The house was about a 4-5 minute walk to the beach through the neighborhood, no major roads. There were some bikes to borrow too, along with beach and pool toys. Having a pool was awesome. It was very warm and the kids loved it. The house was big, more than enough space for our family of four. Kids loved the air hockey table in the lower level too. The house was fine, and clean, but appliances could all be replaced/updated. Upstairs AC sometimes didn’t work well, fridge couldn’t stay cold enough, the washing machine sounded like it was going to break/jump out of the wall when I tried to do a load.
Plenty of things to do in OBX. Lots of mini golf, arcades, climbing the lighthouse, driving a 4x4 car onto the beach to see horses, restaurants, shopping, fishing/boating/kayaking.

Reviewer Comments: We had an amazing time. 11 people, 3 generations making up 4 families (grandparents, 2 families of 4, 1 singleton) ages ranging from 70 to 18months. It was great. Lots of space, plenty for everyone to do and close enough to the beach. Decking was a little worn but that can be expected with all the salt in the air. Highly recommended.

We loved our stay! The house was just the right size for our group and it was an easy walk to the quiet and beautiful beach nearby. The rental company was very easy to get in touch with and highly responsive!

The house was as advertised, BUT the service we received based around different questions we asked was lightening fast and always helpful!

The beginning of our stay didn't start off great. We arrived a little early, but the rental company wouldn't let us pick up the keys early (understandable, but the office was over 30 min from the house with traffic and it was difficult with 2 small children after already driving 8 hours). We drove back to the office and arrived 30 min before check in (an employee earlier in the day told us to do this) and she refused to release the keys, because she wasn't sure if the house was cleaned yet. I explained we were at least 30 min from the house and could not possibly arrive before check in time. She called someone and they were not able to verify the house was cleaned yet. Finally, someone called back and said it had not been cleaned yet. She handed the keys over immediately and said well it isn't clean, but you can start moving your things in. Super confusing considering I couldn't get the keys 10 mintues before that without the house being cleaned?? We arrived pretty much at the same time as the cleaners. She advised us not to come in, especially upstairs yet, because the house was "disgusting and trashed, I don't know how these people will get their security deposit back." We hung out at the pool- which had very clearly not been cleaned yet. Next, I went to wash some things that had been spilled on during the drive. As I opened the washer, I immediately smelled vomit and it had a few towels covered in throw up in it. Eventually we we allowed upstairs and we were hit with a disgusting and overwhelming burnt smell. It lasted the entire trip, but I think we eventually got used to it. The location was great and close to the beach. After convincing ourselves to "let everything go" so that we could enjoy our trip, we had a great time. If those unfortunate events hadn't happened, I would have given this place 5 stars for sure. The house has a lot of space and our 4 year old still talks about the checkers and chess game on the old computer they have. If these issues were fixed, we would stay here again.

Even though it could have been closer to the actual beach access we found the location to be very good from the main road, we did not have to drive too far from the main road to get to the location.

Very nice home !! A short walk to the beach or a nice bike ride to the stores. We had a wonderful week.
