We had such an amazing time at this rental home. We traveled over memorial weekend with a large group of friends and multiple children. This house had everything we could have asked for! The home is comfortable and easily fits a large group. The kitchen had all the appliances and gadgets that we needed to cook great meals and everything worked well. All the adults got a king size bed and the kids loved the bunk beds. There were so many activities and games for the kids (and adults) that they never even asked for their iPads! The owners are so nice and attentive and really seem to enjoy sharing their property with guests. We also rented a boat and the lake access is just a short walk through the neighborhood. I cant say enough good things about this trip!

We just returned from a great first trip to Lake Texoma and are already planning a return trip. The house was perfect with each room having its own bathroom. The hosts truly made us like old friends. The grounds with pickleball and basketball courts and fire pits for s’mores made a perfect place for the 8 kids under the age of 11 to run around and play! Truly a wonderful place, property, house and hosts!

What a blast!!! Great family reunion on Lake Texoma. This house was perfect. We could fit 17 people around the dinner table at one time. We Loved the pickle ball court, Fire pit, pool table, connect four, ping pong and shuffle board. We did it all. Bring your boat. The lake was so much fun cruising to the islands. We will definitely be back again. The host and hostess at the property were very accommodating.

There isn’t a better place for your gathering. Stop looking. I promise this is it. The house is set up perfectly— large group meals, plenty of space, bathrooms in every room of the house. You will NOT be bored in here. We had my brother’s bachelor party here in April, and we couldn’t have asked for a better spot. The hosts are amazing, hard working, and so hospitable. They were personable, generous, quick to serve, and were never intrusive. The pickleball court/basketball court is a dream, and all of the amenities are incredible. Just save yourself the hassle of looking elsewhere.

Worked well for multiple families with plenty of indoor space for our large group to sit together or spread out. We plan to come back during summer to enjoy more outdoor activities.

The set up with both homes was perfect for our large group. There was so much to do from all the games, pickleball and cooking out. The owners were very nice and taught us how to play pickleball. We highly recommend this place and plan on having future get togethers at Shepherds Lodge.

10 adults 4 kiddos Sheperd Lodge was perfect for our annual "Smith Family Weekend!" The kids loved the short trip to the lake, the girls were close for a Spa day in Durant and the guys spent a morning out on Lake Texoma on a guided fishing trip! The house was perfect for famliy fun time AND napping babies. The kitchen was VERY well stocked with all the things we needed to fix large meals. The bunk beds in the bedrooms are pure genius for the families and each bedroom having it's own bathroom was luxury. The outdoor area was also great! We had plenty of room to set up a large blow up pool underneath the porch for the toddlers. We will definitely stay here again if we come back this way!

A wonderful week spent at Lake Texoma in this beautiful house! There were 14 of us, so finding a place to accommodate us all was paramount! The Shepherd Lodge did not disappoint!! Plenty of activities for the older kids (pool, ping pong table, sport court), in addition to the lake of course 😁 The adults enjoyed shuffleboard and the poker table! The kitchen area was well appointed and served as a great “hang out” area for everyone. Each bedroom was, once again, well appointed. The owners literally thought of everything! The lake and marinas are in close proximity to the house, allowing for morning and night walks, enjoying the scenery. We even met some of the year round neighbors, who were all very warm and welcoming. The planning has already begun for our next adventure at Shepherd Lodge 😀

We had a great time staying here. The house was roomy, clean, and was stocked with everything that we needed! We look forward to booking it again next year!

If you live in North Texas and want a great place for a getaway for a family reunion or whatever...this is the best place. Close drive, great house, quiet, peaceful.

This house is far enough away from North Texas and the utter contemptible chaos there, that our group of friends can get in a car, drive 90 minutes and just unwind. Spacious? This is super duper spacious. Every bed is long and wide enough for full-grown adults to sleep comfortably. Spacious in the kitchen when people are loitering around eating chips, cooking, and chatting. Spacious in the living and game rooms. There isn't a tight space in the entire house. Our group of friends have had getaways every year for the past decade. We've visited this same house now twice and have settled that this is our yearly gathering spot from here on out. We couldn't ask for a better spot to get away from the chaos of work and life and the wives. We're already talking in our email thread about our next visit for next year. I can't recommend this spot enough.

Spacious , Clean , and entertaining

We picked the perfect home for our Christmas Celebration in January! The home's living area was a dream. Big enough for several conversations, group playing cards, and cousins enjoying being together! The home was equipped with anything needed for preparing meals, outside toys for cousins to enjoy, inside pool and shuffle board for adults to enjoy, and an additional treat of an ice machine. We used 4 of the 5 bedrooms, each with a king bed, what a treat for all! Additional beds for kids in each room made for the complete setup for all of us to appreciate. The kids wanted to stay until they were ready to come home not when it was time to leave. We will definitely keep this home on our list of places to go! Thanks again for all the amenities!

We had our family Christmas there this year and it was perfect! The house was gorgeous ;spacious enough for all of us and it had everything we needed and then some. We will absolutely be coming back!

Great experience! Dishwasher smelled really bad. We just hand-washed our dishes! Game closet was a mess! We used our own games! Overall, the location and cabin was GREAT! Very spacious. Going again! Will tell people about this place! Thanks!

Very nice house, very well equipped kitchen.

We go on family outings every year with our entire family and this was the perfect spot with enough room for everyone and was close to the lake. Bonus for all of the games, appliances and bathrooms!
