This is the second time we've stayed at Sparrow's Rest. It is an ideal spot for us since we play golf. The location is on the 6th fairway and very close to the clubhouse. The 2 bedrooms have King beds and separate baths. Everything is clean and cozy - perfect for our golf get-away!

The property is beautiful and the vrbo hosts were fantastic! Kitchen area is pretty small but the amazing deck does have a nice Webber grill which is helpful. We will go back!

My wife and I were looking for a quick weekend getaway during the Bear Shadow music festival. We also like to play golf and Sky Valley has a wonderful golf course. The accommodations were wonderful, right on the 6th Fairway, quiet easy to access, and close to everything we wanted to do. Thank you Pamela for providing Sparrow's Rest to us!

Sky Valley is a hub for traveling up to Highlands NC, Cashiers, NC, Sapphire, NC or south to Dillard GA or Clayton GA. There’s so much to do at Sky valley too. Play golf, hike, visit Mud Falls at edge of golf course, play pickle ball, take kiddos to playground or just take leisurely walks enjoying the scenery. We ventured out to Highlands, Cashiers and Tiger Mountain. Dillard has a beautiful addition in Julep Farms. We love this area for its beauty, great restaurants, quaint roadside stands and so many outdoor activities. There’s a new roller coaster in Scaly- the Scaly Screamer! Fun all around everywhere you go!

The location of the property in Sky Valley is very picturesque… The place was comfortable, clean, and cozy. Lots of privacy while also having seamless communication with our lovely hosts. Second time staying, highly recommended!

I loved this trip. I was in town for a trail race and this place was perfect. The Spears were so kind. If you are looking for a place that feels like home in Sky Valley, look no further!

Great location. Close proximity to Dillard, Franklin and Highlands. Nice view. Well stocked with supplies. Comfortable and clean. We enjoyed our stay!

Owners were up at 6:30 each morning moving furniture and walking around which woke us up. Their dog was barking for an hour without stopping during the day. Super dark and smelled musty. Spider webs all over the porch.

Convenient, clean and hospitable

This property was gorgeous and in a beautiful area of southern Appalachia. The house was very well taken care of, and Pamela provided everything that I needed for the stay. The guest area is spacious and very well kept. If you're going to the Highlands, North Carolina, area, this is a wonderful place to stay.

Sky Valley is a hidden gem! The community is charming, with pretty cherry trees and even its own waterfall. This property looks out on a beautiful golf course, and has some of the best beds we’ve slept in! Pam provided everything we needed, including a packet on local scenic hikes that we used to plan our weekend.

Excellent property! All the rooms were very clean and provided all the amenities you need for a fun trip. The property surroundings and view are beautiful! It is located close to everything you need in town yet you feel isolated from all the traffic. We had a great time!

We loved our stay at this home. Sky Valley is a relatively-undiscovered gem of a community that is the perfect base for many picturesque drives through the mountains and close enough for a day trip to bigger communities like Gatlinburg. The home has a stunningly beautiful outlook over a pristine golf course on rolling terrain and a country lane with mountains in the background. Rental rate and cleaning fee were both very reasonable and it would be hard to find a nicer home in this price range. The helpful and friendly owners live on the top floor of the home and rent out the bottom floor with its own separate entrance. A locked door seals off the rented floor from the staircase and owner's residence upstairs, so you have privacy. The guest level has its own, beautiful, huge wrap-around balcony with stunning view. Seems to be one of the most well-situated homes in the community in terms of its view. We loved that both bedrooms had comfortable king beds and en-suite bathrooms. Cooking facilities are limited as the home was not originally designed to have a kitchen on the rented floor (but it has a fridge-freezer, sink, counter-top, microwave and toaster oven and plenty of utensils) - the owner made us aware of this when booking, and it suited us as we'd planned to eat out most days anyway. We intend to return and rent this home again.

Exactly as described..but the beds..oh, the beds! Never slept so good away from home. Pamela was most helpful with dinner suggestions. Unless you forgot your toothbrush, everything else was there..absolutely would stay again!

The rental was perfect for our getaway. Beautiful decor, very nice gathering area, comfortable beds, and spacious rooms. Even though it rained the whole time, we enjoyed just hanging out in the rental. It was like being at home without all the chores! Very relaxing atmosphere. We loved it!

Everything we needed was provided. Plenty of space for privacy. Loved the deck space. Easy drive to a variety of places. The sheet with things to do with directions was a neat bonus. Enjoyed the easy access waterfall right there at Sky Valley!

My husband and I and our 11 year-old granddaughter all enjoyed our stay at Sparrow's Rest. Bedrooms have very comfortable beds and bedding, bedside tables, chairs and plenty of storage space for clothes and suitcases. Each has sliding door access to the porch-a great place to eat meals and relax. Beautiful landscaping welcomes Hummingbirds, etc. The keeping room is small but was more than adequate for the 3 of us. Large tv (we didn't use), some toys, games, magazines and books. Kitchenette has small sink, toaster oven, microwave, coffeemaker and regular size refrigerator with icemaker. Many thoughtful extras provided throughout. Towel supply is plentiful. Decor is tasteful. Owner replied to inquiries before our trip very promptly. The apartment is lower level. Renters must navigate luggage from owner-level driveway via stairs or perhaps by walking down the gently-sloping lawn. Access to resort amenities is a plus. Great area for outdoor adventures! We would stay here again and recommend to others. Thank you Pamela for offering this cozy retreat!

Property was perfect for our purpose. We played golf, hiked and shopped. The apartment was quaint and clean and had everything we needed. The beds were SUPER comfortable! I would definitely stay there again.

We'd love staying in this little hideaway. It was more than clean, more than comfortable and a great location. You can't go wrong staying here in this beautiful setting and great location. The owners bend over backwards to make sure you are comfortable so we would stay there whenever we were in town.

Perfect for a couple, or two. Loved having king size beds and bathrooms in each bedroom. Bedrooms were well appointed with thoughts of travel needs and space. Large closets. Amazing large porch with views of the golf course and mountains. from every room. The living area is fairly small but the large screen TV and comfy chairs make up for it. Kitchen is very small, don't plan to cook unless it's something that can go in the microwave. Large size refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker (with coffee - THANK YOU!), and small toaster oven are available. Everything was as advertised. Hope the owners will let us return in May...

The travel to Highlands is about 25 minutes and did some shopping and eating in Highlands enjoying the quaint little town. We had a venue to attend at the Vineyard in Sky Valley with an 8 minute drive. Fabulous!! When you rent this property you will find it to be welcoming as soon as you enter the door. Accommodations were well thought of - a home away from home. Great place to stay!!

Beautiful house an lovely landscaping. Very clean quarters with lovely decor. Exactly what we needed. We only slept there leaving to be with our huge family reunion on Peale And Peake. All we needed was a comfortable bed, a bathroom and a coffee pot. It was much more with a full sized refrigerator, great TV set and comfortable living room. Thank you Pamela.
