Beautifully designed, every single detail in this place was taking care of. The staff is so nice and cooperative, We had the most perfect vacation also thanks to their ability to make us fill very welcome. The location is a bit far from the town, but the quiet peaceful location is worth it, and you can move around easily with collectivo or bicycles. The food is also good, great breakfast.

Best value and exceeded expectations

The hotel is located in the middle of the hotel zone area of tulum which is nice. The hotel staff is very helpful, very friendly. We asked to switch rooms because of the construction works they are undergoing at the main entrance of the hotel and after the first night they switched us without any ado. The rooms are spacious, the beds are nice and they bring you coffee and biscuits around 8 in the morning which we really loved!

The only problem we encountered during our stay in this hotel was noise. At check-in time we were offered a room just next to the construction works in the hotel. The staff told us that this would only be during day time hours, but still in the evening and very early morning (6:30) the noise was there... So they moved us on the second day ( we did not understand when rooms on the other side are available and you have these kind of works going on, why would you put people in the room next to it...). The other noises we encountered were on the beach, during daytime they have loud music playing on the beach, there is not one moment of just relaxing and enjoying the sound of the sea. Later on it's DJ's and the music keeps on coming. This is not only at Kanan, it's a thing in almost every hotel in this area. So when you compare the price you pay and the quality of stay, we payed too much. Our friends stayed in a bit further in a hotel that was a bit smaller and payed less, had free bikes (we needed to pay for the use of the hotel bikes), were not surrounded by noise all day.

The nest roof too dinner was nice, make sure to wear mosquito repellent. The inside and outside was very jungle like and beautiful.

Our room smelled like throw up. Over priced taxis. Over priced massages. We were traumatized on our last night due to a man running up and down our hallway banging on our day yelling that his daughter had been raped by a predator at the hotel!!!!! We were terrified and could not sleep the rest of the night. It was horrible, that place seems dangerous and most likely will not return next time

Location was great near all of the places we visited, walking distance to all the dinner spots and beach clubs. Close to the excursion we did and the cenote we visited. Room was clean. The jungle vibe was great. Rooftop nest was breathtaking. My food was delicious.

One of the most relaxing places ever in terms of beach access, and room vibes it is like you are in a tree house the most relaxing place for someone wants to connect with nature in a clean place with a very friendly staff that will never let you down and enjoy an excellent roof view for a nice dinner, and great food at the beach & pool in caracole restaurant for breakfast and lunch

Kanan was absolutely exceptional. The level of service of everyone on staff from the receptionist to the waiters was absolutely amazing! We were greeted with welcome drinks, a beautiful room and coffee/tea every morning! The restaurant on the rooftop was the most amazing experience and our server did the very most to make sure we enjoyed the sunset and lunar eclipse. Our room was extremely spacious. The couples massage we received was to die for. The beachfront service was also incredible. We received a text message every morning and night asking how we were doing and/or if we needed anything. I was blown away by this hotel.

if you want to have a peaceful nights sleep and relaxing, this is not the place. so much going on around that we did not sleep properly any of the 5 nights we stayed there. hotel is gorgeous, but it’s meant for party people.

The style of the hotel is amazing. The pool area is cool and also the beach are. Rooms are spacious and the architecture is amazing. In our room, there was a big bath. They bring you coffee and tea in the morning so you can enjoy that, while starting your day. The breakfast is in the beach restaurant, but is more or less nice!

The hotel is eco friendly thet means that a car collects toilet water every single day, and some part of the hotel smells like actual poop. It is disgusting and you cannot enjoy the atmosphere over there. Tho the beach area is cool, then you cannot actually sunbathe there in the second half of the day because all the chairs are in shadows... I would recommend you to have a look on other hotels as well!

This hotel is a dream. One of the best we ever stayed. Comfy room, very good kitchen, the most beautiful beach in Tulum, and the whole "nest" concept is something extraordinary. The music in the night from the nearby disco is not so loud as we worried. Forget Azulik, Kanan ist the top!

Great location next to all beach clubs and restaurants, staff very helpful and kind. it is like living in a hut in the middle of the jungle, very exotic

the room view isn’t as described. we paid for full ocean view but you can only see a partial view (trees have grown since) and i guess the partial view rooms are hidden by all the trees! manage your expectation when choosing your room and what you pay for
