Beautiful log home, very clean, great communication w/ host Denise, had all utensils/cooking supplies, enjoyed the smores supplies & campfire. Downstairs Queen bed comfortable, upstairs Queen a little stiff.
Road to town is a little rough, and seemed like it was a ways back from town (only like 3 miles, lol seemed farther at 25mph)
A few minor improvement opportunities to consider, could use a Keurig coffeemaker w/ pods, and may want to update pets info on listing (states up to 2 dogs allowed, but when we asked we were told we couldn’t bring our dogs, which was disappointing)

Enjoyed the authentic log cabin. Fit the family, great creek access, deer all around. Ate at some great Wimberly eateries close by. Especially loved The Leaning Pear restaurant just up the road. Excellent spot!

We loved the property. We were looking for a rustic property and this met all our expectations. Easy walk to the river where we sat and enjoyed our first afternoon. We followed that with dinner using the Weber grille and enjoyed S'mores around an outdoor fire. The place was super clean and the beds were comfortable. We topped it all off with a stroll though downtown Wimberley which is not too be missed. Ww would definitely rent again.

Overall our stay was enjoyable and the space suited our needs. Only reason not 5stars across the board is that it was still pretty warm when arrived and fridge seemed to have just been turned back on - hence 8-10 hours to cool down and hold food safely. Pool and surrounding area has seen better days and was closed.
Other than those minor things:
We were there for the river and it did not disappoint! Park #2 was amazing for our family with littles and cooled us off in the midst of this heat wave!
Loved the cement floors and the AC really helped keep us cool once it caught up.
The deer were a favorite of the kids for sure.
Will definitely keep this one on the list to return!

The cabin is in a great area. We enjoyed spending the day at the river. Outdoor space was perfect. The host was very responsive. There was a great selection of rafts available to use.

Loved how quite it was and absolutely loved the whole log cabin theme. Our stay was so much more then expected!

Love the huge trees and shady location. It was so comforting in this oppressive 100+ degrees. The cabin was even more charming in person. We were all excited exploring the space.
I was worried the AC might not be great due to the high temperatures but it was perfectly cool the whole time.
I once again failed to read through ALL of the information and we brought our own floats.
DO NOT BRING FLOATS (lol)
They had a BUNCH in the shed ready to go along with other fun things.
The deer! Got up early and enjoyed some one on one time with the deer. Fed them a bunch of corn from the shed and there were 15 at one point. So cool.
Hosts were super responsive.

This log cabin near the Blanco River was the ideal stay for our family: 6 adults, a teenager and a seven year old. (Including our two family pets.
The house was situated in a pleasant, tree shaded lot, private and peaceful. The outdoor yard includes playground, several hangout spots.
Even with in the hot, summer weather, we enjoyed our morning coffee on the porch watching the deer cruising the neighborhood.
Access to the Blanco was convenient, easy 5 min. drive to the river. Even in the hot/dry Texas summer the river was flowing with sufficient water for our whole family and pets to enjoy.
Wimberly and an HEB were convenient for supplies and/or fun.
Our family enjoys cooking and grilling. The kitchen was well equipped and a good working grill on porch.
We would definitely return.

We had such a great time at the Get Away Cabin. It was fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. My girls especially loved the deer that would come visit every morning and night. The location and river access was super convenient. We will definitely rent again!

We really enjoyed our stay.
The house was clean and stocked with everything we needed inside and out. The river is close by as well as the 7A ranch, The Blue whole and Wimberley. We loved all of the deer that came in the yard to eat in the morning and evening; it was the highlight of my stay.

We mainly used the cabin as a base camp for jumping off to other areas in the Hill Country. The cabin had all the basic necessities for us and then some. Nice and quiet area with two river access areas. Cabin even included deer greeting us every morning demanding breakfast LOL.

This is an ideal rental for those that want to relax and cook, enjoy the beauty of the hill country and charming village of Wimberley. The blanco river is natural beauty. The 2 river parks private access adds so much. The cabin is ultra comfortable. We enjoyed every minute here. We recommend this property!!

This was our second trip to the Getaway Cabin. We hope to make it an annual trip. The cabin is perfect in every way. The accomodations, location and river access cannot be beat. It's so relaxing, and the beautiful deer are the icing on the cake. If you're looking for a place to relax and unwind and enjoy nature, this is it.

Awesome getaway
We had a great time. The cabin was perfect. There was enough room for the 8 of us but not too big. We had everything we needed, full stocked kitchen, towels and such. Everything was very clean. It was ver close to all the places we wanted to go auch as Blue Hole, Jacobs Well, San Marcos River for tubing. The water was so cold and refreshed, perfect for July in Texas. Also the town of wimberley was super cute with little stores and great restaurants.
The deer that came to visit right up to the cabin were a huge plus, the kids absolutely loved feeding and watching them.
We will definitely be back 😊

Well Hidden Gem
Overall our stay was very comfortable. The HVAC system was a bit loud but we appreciated it's ability to keep the house cool in 100 degree weather.. There were a few items we needed addressed and they responded quickly to resolve. Think of it as cabin living with home accommodations. We loved how much was provided for our convenience, from river tubes to kitchen utensils.

Cozy family stay
This was exactly what we were looking for. The house is so pretty and cozy! My teenage boys loved it. They had plenty of space inside and around the property, they could safely walk to take a splash on the lake on different (and pretty exclusive) spots. We fell head over heals in love with feeding the deers every morning and afternoons. The shops downtown are AMAZING! It was awesome vacation for the whole family,
including our dog. Just perfect. Thank you so much 💓

Wonderful spot for river time, hanging out on the porch, watching wildlife and relaxing.
Wonderful stay! Excellent communication with the owners and the people managing the property. A beautiful, idyllic spot right near the Blanco. My kids loved the river and also the rustic cabin itself. Had a great time playing badminton and watching the deer, cardinals and squirrels do their thing.

The property was perfectly situated for our Women’s retreat and we loved everything about or stay. It was comfortable and well appointed and Denise was a fantastic host - communicative and helpful. We will definitely be staying again if she will have us!
