Everything was as described. Lily was super sweet and helpful giving me her personal phone number to call if we needed anything at all. Plenty to do at cabin if you just want to stay in. Would definitely recommend.

We had a family wedding in Gatlinburg, this house was perfect for my children and I to enjoy time as a family while we attended the wedding. The house was spacious and perfect to accommodate my family. The set up was perfect for us to cook, hang out and enjoy family time together. There is a game room, a sauna and a hot tub. This is a great place to stay when in Gatlinburg. The owner was wonderful to work with as well.

The cabin was beautiful and comfortable. We saw a bear the 2nd day we were there. Very close up. Lily is amazing. She was available anytime we had questions and very personable. We are going to check out their lake house next year. Plenty of room for 16 people and something for everyone. I would highly recommend this cabin.

Excellent cabin and location!

This property is a little gem! From the spacious rooms, cleanliness of the property, location, endless things to do in the cabin alone, the view, I cannot say enough! It truly felt like home. The property owner, is amazing! From the moment I reserved the cabin up to checkout, she was available by email, phone or text. As a personal note, I am extremely grateful for the kindness she bestowed on my family in our time of need. This was not only a family trip, but one to honor a loved one. Lilly made sure to let us know how much she cared about who stays in their cabin. I will forever be grateful to her!

The cabin was beautiful and very spacious. Plenty of room for all of our kids and grandkids to spread out, but also plenty of room to all be together. The large kitchen was well equipped to prepare our Thanksgiving feast. Wifi was adequate for the teenager, as required. Hot tub and sauna were nice for relaxing after all the walking both downtown and in the woods. Weather was chilly and a nice beak from Florida. Would absolutely book again.

WOW! We had an amazing week celebrating our 50th anniversary at your Gatlinburg cabin (Sept 18-25). While we were expecting a beautiful “rental property”, it far exceeded our needs. From the décor to the layout to the furnishings to the smallest of touches, the cabin was perfect for our family gathering. We are especially appreciative of the addition of the ping pong table where we enjoyed lots of fun family time together. We loved the quiet and peacefulness of the cabin surrounded by the amazing views of the Smoky Mountains. We also appreciated the close proximity of the cabin to Gatlinburg and grocery shopping. So you had the best of both worlds. In summary: It was a wonderful week filled with relaxation, celebration (our wedding anniversary), laughter, fun … The best part was the creation of so many wonderful memories. The cabin was very clean and maintained. It had everything you needed and more. Very spacious and able to accommodate a large party. The yard and extra chairs were a wonderful inclusion. Also, if you're hoping to see a bear, this is the perfect cabin! Thank you so so much for a wonderful experience. We will definitely stay here again!

Greatly enjoyed our stay. We were close to attractions yet close to nature in a quiet area while at the cabin. Enjoyed the birds, wild turkeys and bear visits! Will likely return!

This was a last minute decision and a last minute find and I can say it was the best that I have ever had. Owner is amazing and so helpful. Cabin was more than I could have imagines it to be. I can not wait to get the opportunity to stay again,and I hope it will be soon.

The cabin was big enough for my self, my three sons and their families. Great property and property owners. The view from the dining area was fantastic, gorgeous. We had a wonderful time and looking forward to doing again. Hopefully during the fall when the leaves change.

Renting this property was a wonderful experience from the time started walking through the process to secure this cabin all the way until we left the unit. The owners went way beyond to help us get the arrangements that we wanted.. First class service for sure! Cabin was unbelievable beautiful and everything work just like it should. Even had all the supplies we needed. The location of the cabin is very convenient to Gatlinburg but it has the feeling of being remote and have very good views of the Mountains! Cabin very well designed and extremely comfortable, absolutely the best we have ever had in Gatlinburg, and we have been there many times. We will return!

This property was a great find. It was clean and comfy and the owners seemed to have thought of everything to help make our stay enjoyable. The bear decor was so cute. Our grandsons aged 3 and 5 were delighted with all the bear decorations. Kitchen was well equipped with all the necessities and so many extras. The owner, Lilly, could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Needless to say, we totally enjoyed our stay. Would give this property 2 thumbs up!

The house was beautiful. The kids all enjoy their stay. The only draw back was the yard was smaller then we thought. Other than the yard we all enjoyed our stay. You all were very considerate of our needs.

Everything is easy! The booking, the check-in, staying there and checking out. The house has plenty of space for large groups and perfect for families with teens because of the bottom floor game room. The decor is cozy and the bedrooms are spaced out to offer plenty of privacy. This is a great rental and in my opinion you won’t be disappointed!

The property and the host were fantastic! The property was just as pictured on the website...well appointed and nicely decorated! Location was easy to get to. We did see bears...quite closely!! They walked through our yard and practically up on the porch!! There is no cable, however between all of our streaming services, we never missed a beat. The living areas are spacious and comfortable. Kitchen was large and open...dishes, pots/pans, all utensils were great! Beds were very comfy!! Bathrooms were spacious and clean. Hot tub and dry sauna were a huge hit!! We intended on having an outdoor fire, but never got around to it, tho the fire pit was ready for us. Lilly was extremely kind and helpful. She makes herself easily available for any questions you may have. I would recommend this property for sure!! The only thing I found a bit odd was that there are no dressers and limited closet space in bedrooms. It was not an issue for us, we hung some clothes and just used our suitcases. Again....five stars and we would book this property again!

This cabin was amazing! There were plenty of beds for everyone in our group of 14. The kitchen had ample dinnerware and cookware. The Flexbrew coffee maker was great since some of our group liked using the kcups while others preferred brewing a pot. There was room for everyone to eat together and gather together in the living room, yet the 3-4 floors also allowed for some privacy. My family loved the hot tub, sauna, game room and fire pit. The cabin is in a wooded area. We had bears visiting. Warning- keep your car doors locked. We noticed a car stopping in front of the cabin and honking. When my husband opened the door he saw a bear IN MY CAR. He got out when my husband shooed him away, taking a bottle of lemonade with him. No harm done, but we had a story to tell! Our host, Lilly, was the best. She texted and called before our visit to see what she could do to make our stay perfect.

Wonderful property for our group of 9; could easily hold 3 more. Spacious rooms and comfy beds. We had a "guest" (bear) the night we used the fire ring and had s'mores. Luckily, even though he was less than 10 feet away, we all got in the house!

Close enough to town but far enough away that the terrible traffic doesn't affect you.

I cannot say enough about how amazing our time at Bear Necessities was for our annual family trip! The house was perfect for our kids and grandkids with enough space for everyone to enjoy our time together, yet have room to relax and separate from each other on the many outdoor decks. It is so obvious how much thought and effort the Stoltz's put in to assuring each guest will have a great experience in their home. The location is perfect that you can walk down the hill and catch the trolley into town, or grab a great meal, breakfast, dinner, or ice cream - and then 'walk it off' on your way back up! It is also close to the grocery story without having to deal with the traffic in town - a huge plus in my opinion! The house was very clean and had all the extras needed to prepare our meals - and we had many together around the huge dinner table, that came with an awesome view! The mountains, the house, the location , and most importantly the Stoltz's truly made our annual fall family trip amazing! Even before we arrived I received a phone call (not a text!!) to make sure we had a direct connection in case we needed anything, which put me at ease and made me feel incredibly welcome as a guest in their home. I cannot say enough...

The pictures and description of this cabin do not do it justice. Everything in it is state of art. My children all cook and could not get over the kitchen, appliances, cookware; everything they needed. The owners of this cabin did not skimp on anything. Our family had a wonderful time there. We played games, worked puzzles, and ate. We hardly left the cabin; enjoyed the hot tub, sitting on the decks and all the beautiful scenery in every direction. Lilly, the owner was very accommodating and helpful. We highly recommend this cabin, especially for families wanting to spend time together. We definitely plan to return to this cabin next year. This was the perfect cabin getaway for Labor Day. Nearby to Gatlinburg and all that offers, close to major trails and whitewater rafting (https://raftinginthesmokies.com). The cabin was exactly what you would want. We saw a few bears in the area and the bear theme decor is lots of fun. Lilly the owner was a great host and went out of her way to help us make plans, whether for visiting the "Max Patch" or other area attractions.

We enjoyed this home very much. It was nice to talk and text with the owner before the trip and they were very accommodating when I ask to include something we needed. The place was grand, and had everything we needed to cook and enjoy the home. We even had a family movie night downstairs and saw a bear right out of the window. We all got very excited!

It’s so rare to find an actual rental by owner on this site now, so I was very happy to discover this being the case for this beautiful cabin. The property owners are the absolute best and easiest to work with! She checked on us throughout our stay and on the morning of checkout when we had unexpected car trouble, she was so kind and patient, offering to help in any way she could and reassuring us that she was more concerned about us being taken care of than getting us out of the house so she could move on to the next renter. The entire experience was great. The location is awesome. The cabin is awesome. The owners are awesome! We will definitely be staying here again for our future trips.
