Pete's Retreat was just perfect for a few days in Cedar Key. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our time there. We would definitely stay again next time we visit.

Cottage was so cute! Front porch was the biggest plus but wicker porch chairs need replacing (you can’t really duct tape that type of chair!) The cottage advertised it sleeps 6… just be aware it would not sleep 6 adults, the bedroom with the full size bed would only fit one adult (or two small children). We had a great time and will definitely return again!

This place fit our needs perfectly with all the basics available to us and a perfect location.

Perfect. Easy rental process

The process of renting the property was easy, check-in was also easy.Upon arriving we took a short tour of the home as well as the property. Everything was very nice and very accommodating the front porch was amazing even though it was very hot outside. When we went to the back of the property I was a little puzzled because in the pictures it shows a path through the Mangroves to a beach? I was under the impression that the home backed up to a beach where there was a private walkway but this was not so. You had to walk to the townhomes next-door go down a small flight of about seven steps and then you had to walk across a board that was placed over some water and go through the mangroves which were not trimmed back to a small beach.They have canoes that you can use but none of us felt like going down a flight of small steps and going to the teeny tiny beach through the overgrown mangroves to launch. It is a cute little beach if you wanted to get some sun. Or launch canoes. The Home seem to have everything you needed to have a comfortable stay. Plenty of towels, and all the amenities needing to Stay. We arrived Friday afternoon and the check-in was not very far from the home which was nice. I do like that each room for the most part has its own air conditioner that you can program to make yourself comfortable. They have boxed games that you can play. As well as puzzles which was a nice plus. I’m a very clean person so Saturday evening I decided to wash all of the linens that we had used up to that point… That’s just who I am. Upon putting the items in the dryer I noticed a load of laundry in the dryer so I simply folded them and put them away.No biggie it happens. I re-staged the towels throughout the house and remade all of the beds except for the one that we stayed in which I stripped and put the sheets on top of the bed so they would know in housekeeping that they needed to be washed. On a sidenote when you go down through the mangroves to the little beach you absolutely need to wear bug spray because there were no See ins biting at our ankles, this is Florida after all just want to give out-of-state visitors a heads up. A lot has changed in Cedar key over the last several years and we miss places like Holey Moley and Kona Joes! Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home! The Navarro Family

House was exactly as represented. Reminds me of houses I used to visit as child in SW Lousiana.

Spent the week paddling around the keys and walking around town. The house was perfect- nice big screened in porch.

The house was very cute and comfortable! We enjoyed our stay very much.

Lovely porch. Large rooms. Great decor. Coffee pot warming tray rusty. Outlets in kitchen not working. Checked breakers. Still not working. Overhead kitchen light not working. Stove exhaust drips water when turned on. Saw roaches in kitchen. Second bath shower no hot water. Overall loved the house inspite of these issues. Location great.

The cottage was roomy and well appointed with everything you would need for an extended stay. We especially enjoyed the screened porch at night. Though close to downtown the place was very quiet. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Cedar Key.

First time visiting Cedar Key. The house was okay. Definitely older, but had some unique charm. The layout was weird. The second bath was off from the kitchen with a toilet and sink on one side with a very small shower across the hall. There was not any AC in that bedroom. The living room smelled like a dog. I did see several roaches and several huge spiders in the house. The screened in porch was nice, but no air flow what so over. There was always a nice breeze on the dock. We rented a golf cart which made getting around much easier.

Great time. House sooted our needs and was very enjoyable.

We enjoyed our stay, but with the one bathroom being so big, I think washer and dryer could go in there and that bedroom/laundry room. Be a designated bedroom. Furniture could use some updating, but overall, very nice

Loved everything...but that front porch...it was the BEST...kept us from the little bugs...cocktail hour and cards at the table on the front porch!

Beachy cottage with convenient location, good accommodations and comfortable beds.

Pete’s retreat has lots of character. We loved starting or ending our day on the screened porch. We watched the sunset nightly from the shared dock. The house was clean and bed comfortable.

It's was a gals days away trip. Really enjoyed Pete's Retreat. We especially enjoyed the screened porch as we are avid card players. Did have a little trouble regulating the hot and cold in the large bathroom shower, but made it work.

We just wanted a few relaxing days- Pete's Retreat fit our needs perfectly (4 senior adults). It's an older house but it is clean and we had no problems. We loved the screened -in porch .

For those that say this property needs some work, perhaps they are expecting the Ritz and should think about staying elsewhere. This house is absolutely adorable. Incredibly clean, well stocked and perfect for guests of 6 or less. A great little front porch to enjoy the sunrise and coffee or sunset and a glass of wine. Easy access to the water and some awesome sunset pics. Close to downtown and shopping/eating. Has this house been worked on? Yes. Could it use a little more? Maybe. Maybe not. It’s perfectly fitting for a nice, relaxing weekend!

Pete's Retreat provided much needed R&R, great location. The house had everything we needed and was clean. Everything worked properly and comfortable.
