The question, What did I like??? The answer — EVERYTHING!! From the first meeting of the hosts to the last goodbye, I felt like an honored guest. The wife, Maria, speaks English so all of the essential information was given by her. She had some homemade cakes and cookies waiting especially for me in my apartment. There was no air conditioning, but I was there during an extremely hot period in Crete and because of the way the apartment is built, cool breezes came through the rooms and frankly, I never thought about air conditioning until I started writing this review. Perhaps it will be important to some, but I think it’s a “non-issue!” The location is remote of the village as it is located quite high up the hill above the town. It has a commanding view of the mountainous surroundings as well as a nice view of the sea from the cool, shaded balcony in front of the apartment. Each morning I was asked if I needed anything by her husband (Hali?) as he handed me a cappuccino he brought down especially. He speaks such little English, and I no Greek so I think we both enjoyed the morning visits; every day with a coffee for me and a beautiful time attempting to communicate. One morning he came with a cappuccino and a huge Crème Brûlée Maria had made for me. I tell ya...it was like I was a long lost family member who returned. The place was bright, clean, perfectly supplied, beautiful, well equipped and very roomy. A family could stay here easily because of the large living space but the child would sleep on the sofa. For many, that would be no problem at all. There is a washing machine, too. On my last day, I planned to walk down to the town along the old road to the village/town (about 10 minutes) Hali would not permit me, even though I protested that I only had a carry-on piece of luggage. He dropped what he was doing and happily took me where I was going and, parting with a big hug and handshake.

The only tiny detail I’d want, if it was my home, would be a light over the kitchen sink. But there is a good possibility I didn’t find the switch !

The couple that owns the house is the cutest; they are such nice people, very polite and generous. The view from the terrace is gorgeous and the apartment is spacious with separate areas for living room and bedroom. The kitchen is equipped with all you need. No traffic noise so it is very relaxing. The owners offered us fruits and vegetables from their garden that were delicious. We really felt that it was the best accommodation we had so far in Greece! Truly a Greek experience!

This was my best experience in any travel apartment I've ever been in! The first thing that surprised me was the amazing hospitality of the host couple. The view is beautiful, you see mountains all around you really well, because you're on a hill. The whole stay there felt very different from a daily rush you experience at stressful work or a city. If you want to relax in a vacation, out from all of it, I think the place is perfect.

It's in a mountain area, so bear in mind that the road is appropriate for the place. Since it's on top of a hill, it can get windy. But that's about all I can think of.

The apartment is exactly as described. It is very modern, well equipped, peaceful and the view is unbelievable. It is a good base to explore the area by car. And the hosts are the best people you can hope for.

The hosts were really friendly, they gave us fruits out of their garden and brought us dinner. It was a nice view and there was always a little wind, so the room was cool. Next time in Crete, we would definitely stay here again.

Charalampos and Maria were very welcoming and excellent hosts. They live on the upper floor so no problem with arrival times. The building/apartment is located on the top of the hill overlooking the valley with fantastic views from our extensive outside terrace. It is kitted out with everything you need, modern kitchen, washing machine, plenty of room for 2 people. Ideal location near the Richtis Gorge (great walk down the gorge for sure-footed explorers to the beach) for driving east, west or south for walking and snorkelling. Lidl 15mins (heading east) from the apartment.
