We are a family of 16 people with ages ranging from 12 to 83. Fontblanche is a large beautiful property with plenty of character features. Winding stone staircases inside and out that give this home a castle feel. Quiet and secluded it is a place to fully relax in with enough modern touches to keep the whole family entertained and quiet corners for Nana and Grandad to retreat to. Aries and Alison looked after our every need from start to finish and couldn’t have been more helpful. We can definitely recommend a stay here.

We had a wonderful stay at Fontblanche with our children and grandchildren to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary.
The property was everything we wanted for our special family get-together. It was beautifully furnished with very comfortable beds and all the amenities we needed, including a well-equipped and stocked kitchen. There were plenty of places to enjoy peace and quiet or full-on family fun. Our grandchildren enjoyed all the toys and games provided in the playroom as well as the extensive grounds, pool and tennis court.
The team looking after the property were extremely helpful and went the extra mile to make it a memorable stay. We would highly recommend this property.

The house was downright dreamy, like a magazine come to life. Quirky, but charmingly so, postcard beautiful and well equipped. Comfortable beds, beautiful outdoor seating, the separate house for our older children, and a view that was more than we could have hoped for. The pool was cool but we enjoyed it. But what really made this trip so truly magical was Aries, our incredible host. He messaged us with a google link to the gate and suggestions on hitting the local market for arrival. He allowed us an early check in, which was so needed after a half day of travel. He and his mother greeted us with fresh flowers for the house, a charcuterie board for immediate snacking, a tour of the home and its history (which was so interesting!), and details on using the high end coffee machine, a critical item! Where Aries really shone was the suggestions on the best places for a boulangerie, patisserie, local street market, where to find a great parfumerie, not to miss the kayaking on the river nearby (and we agree, don’t miss it!), recommending a local gorge to hike which we enjoyed, where to sightsee, cute towns to explore nearby and so much more. He even worked with us on reservations on dinner for 18 people (not an easy feat). Highly recommend you book your dinners well in advance, especially more than 4-5 people. We all felt that this was the quintessential French experience. We loved every minute and were sorry to leave Fontblanche. Avec beaucoup d'appréciation, Aries!

Family retreat with friends - prefect locations for cycling and visiting wineries

A fiftieth birthday party was the occasion for the week-long stay at Fontblanche. Accommodations were perfect for the 11 of us, with the Bergerie providing a nicely discrete/separate location for a group of three. It seemed the terrace off of the kitchen was the natural gathering spot, perched over the pool area and connected to the kitchen activity. Cook and chef who came in on three nights were excellent too, and we had a morning ritual to drive or walk up to the boulangerie in Gordes for fresh croissants. The house was even more charming and full of character in person than what was portrayed on the website, and Aries was a consummate professional, even rushing over to tend to a tripped circuit breaker one evening, saving our and the chef's dinner. I was sorry to leave after one week, two weeks would have been better to sample both Fontblanche and the surrounding Luberon. I recommend to any having a similar event, or even two or three families who want to vacation together but maintain some autonomy/privacy in a shared dwelling situation.

Phenomenal
Fontblanche is a stones throw from Gordes and set in stunning surroundings in the Luberon valley with fantastic views in a number of directions.
The house itself is an absolute gem with the photos not nearly doing it the justice it deserves.
In short, if you are thinking about it...do it!

A romantic and ideal family retreat!
My husband and I got married at the home in June. Both of our families had a very relaxing, intimate, exciting week. It was an easy drive from the airport, about an hour. We werent given an address, so we got there by GPS coordinates. The property and home were both more than we had hoped for. The grooms family stayed in the bergerie, which was very accommodating and only a short walk from the main house. The bathrooms were tiny with a low ceiling, and it was a little dirty when we arrived, but it was fine. The lavender field in front was in full bloom! The main house was really fun to get to know, because of its unique floor plan. It was really fun to get lost in and wonder about. Everyone had lots of privacy within the home. We felt like we had gone back in time. The decor suited the architecture, but also felt modern and comfortable. We loved having big dinners in the dining room or under the pergola at the pool. The view from the kitchen was great and we spent a lot of time in there cooking. We also enjoyed cooking on the grill by the pool. We were there in June, and with no AC, it got pretty hot in some rooms, particularly the kitchen. We had a hard time keeping flies out of the kitchen, because we had the doors and windows open for most of the day, but it wasn't a big issue. It was a struggle to cool off at night in certain bedrooms. We really enjoyed the lighted tennis court! We were only a short, 10 min drive from Gordes (which u can see from the house) and short drives away from the other Luberon villages. The house managers were kind enough to have some groceries, champagne, and flowers waiting for us and everyone's name was pinned to their bedroom, to avoid any confusion. The only issues we had were the pool needed cleaning (which they came back and did), the porches were a bit dirty and messy, there was a broken toilet in the pool house, all of the exterior furniture cushions were stored inside, a lot of the pots had dead plants, and generally it needed a little landscaping work.. just a bit unkempt in certain areas. The house managers were a little difficult to communicate with, maybe because of a language barrier, but they weren't very responsive to emails. The owner, Davis, was helpful when I could not reach them. All in an unforgettable trip, and I would be ecstatic if I ever got to stay there again! 1 weeks was not long enough.

Amazing Time!
The property was better than we expected it to be ! A very unique layout in multiple buildings, so there is plenty of room to have your own space. We were there for 10 days with a great group of friends who love to cook and entertain. We utilized all the dining area options and we were pleased the kitchen was so well stocked. 10 days was actually not enough time to see all the sights in the area and utilize the house, so we're making plans for a return trip! This place is amazing!

Beautiful heritage property with all the comforts.
Our group of six couples enjoyed a wonderful week at Fontblanche. We were delighted with the selection of well furnished rooms and amenities. We thoroughly enjoyed preparing meals together in the well equipped kitchen; gathering on the several patios; dining in the spacious dining room; lounging in the comfortable sitting rooms throughout the house; as well as exploring the beautiful countryside, Gordes and surrounding areas.

Our 50th Anniversary was an amazing Dream come True
There were 16 of us all ages arriving from Wisconsin and Minnesota..none of us knew what to expect only hoped that our stay could be half as good as other reviews!
We played tennis--even at night, rode bikes through the country side of lavender, poppies and rolled bales of hay. Ate on patios, cooked fabulous meals, went to markets, sang, laughed, enjoyed all kinds of beverages, and played Marco Polo in the refreshing pool.
Our welcome by Herve was delightful and he was always available to assist in some minor problems.
It was perfect!!!!
Thank you

A Stunning location just outside of Gordes
What a fantastic property! There were 15 of us for 2 weeks in this lovely estate and everyone enjoyed every minute. The description was accurate regarding all the amenities and even better. It is very well stocked with kitchen items and we were able to use the vast selection of dishes and glasses provided. It is a nice blend of casual with elegant so we felt at home.
The living room and dining room in the main house were perfect for inside dining and evening viewing on the Apple TV of all the pictures we took during the day. We loved the outside tables for our evening meals when nice outside and the views!!!
The pool was used and enjoyed on our lazy days and beach towels were provided. The pool house with the bath was a nice luxury.
Everything was clean and each morning the gal would come and clean every bath, the kitchen and also wash all the floors.
Besides she cleaned up outside. What an extra bonus for all of us.
When we had a problem with the internet connection, the manager, Florence was there to reset it in a jiffy.
I highly recommend this property to anyone that is looking for a great spot in Provence. It is just half way between Avignon and Aix and close to all the small hill towns.
Two of our guys even rode their rented bikes up to Mt Ventoux, just like the Tour d'France! What a thrill for them.
I suggest you rent this for at least 2 weeks so you can enjoy all that the house and Provence have to offer!
