Beautiful location, comfortable home.

Our family recently enjoyed staying at this lovely cottage. It is well appointed with a lot of nice amenities. There was plenty of seating, which was appreciated as we have stayed at places where the main living and dining areas do not seat the number of people the house sleeps. The decor is tasteful and relaxing. The house is open with a lot of space to spread out for a larger family. The house is much roomier (main rooms) than the listing photos show. The owner is very accommodating and helpful and very quick to respond to any question. Easy, no nonsense check-in and check-out procedures. The weather was fairly cold and windy with some rain during our stay so we didn't spend a lot of time on the beach. It's a nice beach with soft sand and we came away with some beach glass, some fossils and some shells to remember our trip by. Don't hesitate to stay in this lovely cottage. A couple of caveats for future guests: If you are planning on eating in for most of your stay; there are no empty cupboards in the kitchen to store food. The master bedroom closet is large and I used that as my pantry for our stay. The seating in the main living area is low and soft, hard to get out of for "mature" guests. The sunrises were bright and beautiful. That said, it might be a nice addition to add filtering blinds or shades to the main living room windows to soften the effect of the sunlight. 4th time staying & won't be the last! House is fantastic, the beach is absolutely amazing, the towns close by are cute! Kids look forward to this up north trip every year, cannot recommend enough!!

We have been renting this property for about 5/6 years and enjoy the area.

We had a wonderful visit! The property is great and they had everything we needed and more. My husband loved using the kayak and my kids loved cuddling on the couch watching movies at night.

Wonderful house that’s pretty pricey for the east side of the state—but it’s spacious and well set up and has an amazing amazing beach. (Though the two smaller bedrooms are pretty small and a little stuffy, but the primary bedroom is big with AWESOME beach views.) AND DO NOTE: the owners don’t provide beach chairs (they really should) though you can drag the big, heavy Adirondack chairs from the fire pit; AND—I’ve never before stayed at a high-end rental like this that didn’t provide you with all the basic supplies you need for day-to-day living: You have to bring your own toilet paper and your own garbage bags!! What??!!? The owners could definitely afford to make the house a little more user-friendly as far as that goes—maybe even providing things like shampoo and beach towels?! It was enough of an inconvenience that we will likely check out other houses in the area for next summer, though we’d consider renting this one again if the price drops a little…

Cottage was very clean. Spacious and well equipped. Beach gorgeous! Loved watching the sunrises! Perfect views! Large Bunk bed room also had washer and dryer in it with opening into the kitchen over the kitchen sink (no privacy and not sound proof). We didn’t find the bocce ball set but we didn’t really want to leave the beach anyway! Very nice place. Thank you!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our June 2023 family stay at Ervin’s Escape. The home is beautiful and clean! The open layout is fantastic and provided plenty of room for 8 adults and 2 children! There are numerous places to enjoy outside to include a hammock, outdoor table seating for 6 (plus additional table on side of house where grill is), and Adirondack chairs around a fire pit. Our kids had a blast using the floating mat with anchor. We hope to come back next summer!

This was a wonderful place for a getaway and was a great experience. The house was as described. It was very clean, well maintained, and stocked with everything we required and then some. Loved the beachy decor and comfy couches! Adding to the charm of the house was its location and the tremendous view from the wall of windows in the living area. On a sunny day, walking into that section of the house from the bedrooms made us feel almost like Dorothy opening the door and discovering Oz. The beach was beautiful. Loved being able to walk what seemed like forever in either direction. Equally enjoyable was just relaxing on the beach and watching the passing freighters and other boats. The early October weather was pretty cooperative so we visited some wineries and did a bit of sightseeing - followed immediately by a return to our beach chairs. The squirrel population was a bonus. We'd look up and find one sitting on the window sill seeming to enjoy watching us as much as we enjoyed watching them. All in all, a terrific place for a relaxing vacation.

This is an excellent lake front property about 15 minutes north of Tawas and south of Oscoda. Excellent location to enjoy the beach and have access to amenities in both towns. The house is impeccably clean and tastefully decorated (and very recently renovated). It's spacious and light-filled with plenty of room for a large group to spread out and enjoy everything from beach time to group meals to games and TV. Note that the bunk room is connected to the kitchen via a passthrough window and door with glass panels (has curtains for more privacy); bunkroom would be great for kids/teens! The views of Lake Huron are spectacular! The kitchen is so nicely laid out - a dream for those of us who like to cook! There is tons of counter space for food and supplies. There's a separate bar cart setup too so that folks can prepare drinks and not get in the way of kitchen activities. The house doesn't have a supply of things like plastic wrap, tin foil, baggies, garbage bags, etc, so be prepared to bring your own. On the other, there's plenty of kitchen equipment for cooking for a group. We really enjoyed the beach - it's a great walk south down au sable point, just so beautiful, We had a great stay and are looking forward to returning next summer.

3rd time bringing our family here and cannot say a single bad thing about it - super clean, excellent beach & fire pit, no bugs. The location is great, and layout is super functional. We will be back next year!

The kids enjoyed playing on the beach however while inside the livingroom and dining room are very dark - not enough lights and the kids that stayed in the bunk bed area got spider bites galore. The screens, porch and deck were filled with cobwebs and bugs and the master bedroom smelled very musty even after we opened windows to air it out but overall the house did what it was rented for.

The property is in a quiet location on the shore of Lake Huron. We enjoyed the beach and the views of Lake Huron. Very well maintained and clean. Definitely recommend.

The beach house and overall property was perfect for our family. The online pics do not capture the true beauty and all the house offers. Shelly was very responsive and eager to make sure we enjoyed our stay. We traveled with our adult children and 18 month old granddaughter. We used the beach daily. The patio was my favorite for morning coffee looking at the lake. We ended our nights with fires on the beach. We would definitely love to come back.

Enjoyable beautiful beach

We were looking for a relaxing, quiet get away for our 20th wedding anniversary and this rental was a great choice! The home was beautiful, clean and easy to find. We found everything we needed to make meals at “home” as we had planned because during our last visit to the area we struggled to find restaurants we liked. Happy to share that we found some great new restaurants in Tawas this time around! Being right on the beach was lovely. We’d be happy to stay here again!

Our experience from the start of arriving was amazing! First off, the house was SO clean, organized and tidy. The finishing on the house are gorgeous and it’s is so much larger inside than the pictures show! It’s tucked back in the woods on the lake. Truly heaven. My friends and I enjoyed our morning coffee on the patio and sat by the fire at night. Everyone raved about how cute the place was. 100% will be back!

A small group of us stayed for several days in mid-May. The house is comfortable and has everything needed for cooking in the kitchen. The only complaint is the lack of bath towels. This is the only house out of about 25 VRBO rentals we have used in the past two years that does not provide bath towels, which is a major inconvenience. Otherwise, all was fine.

This was our second time staying at this property and it was fantastic! The owner was excellent to work with. We really want to come back in the summer because the beach is phenomenal. The beds were very comfortable. Plenty of pots/pans and everything you’ll need for cooking. It is about midway between East Tawas and Oscoda, so a really convenient drive to either town. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. You won’t be disappointed.

The home is a great location with a beautiful view and beachfront. The kitchen was well equipped. Beds were comfortable and the bedding was nice quality. We all had a great time!

This property was even better in person! It was so spacious and nicely decorated, with a lot of considerate details for renters. The sandy beachfront was beautiful - can't wait to come back in the summer time! Would definitely recommend this property.

This is the second time, this year I've stayed at this property. This visit I brought some friends and everyone loved the place. The views of Lake Huron are amazing and the house is comfortable and beautifully decorated. We did manage to drag ourselves away from the view to enjoy a bit of the area. We found some great biking trails and beautiful hiking area's close by. Can't say enough great things about our stay!

Our stay ther was a great getaway ...it was clean and had all the important items...such as fullu stoked kitchen...very nice decor...great views of Lake Huron...I highlt recommend it a a wonderful getway vacation place...

Wonderful house right on the water. Peaceful location. Very relaxing. Easy access to everything. One suggestion, there should be a handrail as the porch steps were steep. All in all, great place to stay.

Our family of five had a terrific stay in this property. The kids really enjoyed the lake and it was nice to have the room to not be on top of each other! Lots of great communication made the process seamless.
