Spacious, clean room, nicely and usefully furnished. Beautiful view. There is enough parking spaces in front of the mansion.

There was a disturbing noise, probably from the adjacent room (central heating, air conditioning, boilers?) The fridge was also quite loud. Fortunately, it stays in the entrance room and the door can be closed.

Location and nice exterior of the building.

We booked 2 double rooms with private bathroom in the room, both at the same price. We were informed the day of arrival that one room will not have a bathroom inside. The bathroom was far from the room, we had to walk through a cold corridor at night. The hotel didn't compensate us for this inconvenience regardless the complaints made to them directly and to booking.com. We also booked breakfast that was separately charged. The second day we've found the breakfast room closed as they forgot we've booked and paid the breakfast (we paid the day before). Noone was answering the phone, we've lost time, nerves and money that were reimboursed only after a long time discussions and complains from me directly to the hotel and booking.com (the only in + behaviour was reimboursing us for both breakfasts). The room standard was very poor. The reception is in turist information and seems they don't know anything and do not pass information between themselves. Also the opening times of the turist info is very limited so if something happens as in our case you have noone to talk to. I do not recommend this place. I travel a lot and was never treated so disrespectfully as there.

Fantastic value. Not much happening in the town, but the penzion is perfectly located for anything that is, as well as close to the very limited food and pub offerings in the city. Train station is just a 15 minute walk as well, bus station about 5 minutes. Room was nicely sized and pleasant. Not many windows, but kept the room quiet. Bathroom clean and modern, bed firm and comfortable with excellent quality blankets and pillows. Nice work desk provided as well, and also tea etc. Breakfast room right nearby. Castle was beautifully lit up when I arrived. Small difficulty finding the kiosk for the key lockers, (in the second courtyard in the rear, not the first in the front), but after that everything was beautifully done and made good sense. Excellent modern elevator available for rooms on the upper floors. Overall a great room and location, and a fantastic value. Local restaurant "Fresca" was a also wonderful find, and highly recommended.

Communication was excellent leading up to receiving the keys, which is great. However, after I took the room I could no longer reach anyone at all, whether by phone or in person. I had the desire to extend my leaving time by just 45 minutes, (freezing cold outside and no place open until 11am), but could reach nobody for over 16 hours. Never did get a response. Someone should be available to respond when guests are staying.

The hotel is in the middle of the city. Although we arrived pretty late, after front desk closed, we were able to easily check-in. The information provided was very clear. The beds were very comfortable and there was no noise from the outside (the castle has a clock which supposedly sings hourly, even at night, but we only heard it when we were outside in the patio). The internet speed was ok and the rest of the furniture was ok as well (nothing fancy, but all a traveler would need). The hotel is located in the center, there are many options for eating out within 500m, there is also a lovely park/playground for children nearby (probably a 200m walk) where the children spent two entire mornings.

The one thing that we didn't like in our room was the fridge. It was very noisy. I don't remember ever hearing such a noisy fridge in my life.

Good location in Valmez. interesting to stay in a stately home. Basic but clean.

Breakfast was bad. not just meh but actively bad. Coffee beans not good, despite investing in two coffee machines. no fruit. bread stale.
