Lovely hosts who provided lots of little extras such as water, scones and chocolates, in a beautifully clean house.
Quite a long walk to nearest restaurants, as we didn’t have a car.

Before I arrived Trevor called me to confirm my arrival time and to ensure I knew where to go to find the hotel; a lovely personal touch.
The moment I arrived I felt welcomed. The house feels inviting and homely. My room was very comfortable and exceptionally clear. The bathroom was spotless too.
Elmdene do not provide evening meals but they made sure I had plenty of options to chose from and gave me directions on how to get there.
My bed was very comfortable and I slept very well.
Breakfast was excellent. With a continental and full breakfast options available. The quality of the breakfast was very good also. Coffee was great.
Trever went above and beyond in the morning and drove me to my meeting location. What a fantastic service. Thank you.
I have stayed in a lot of hotels over the years and I have no hesitation in recommending Elmdene to friends and family. One of the very best.
I'll be back.

We couldn't fault anything about the Guest House, lovely room, fantastic choice of breakfasts & very tasty, Trevor & Kim are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble.

The breakfast was exceptional and cooked fresh to order. There was a good choice. Nothing was too much trouble for the hosts.
It was 20-25 minutes walk to the centre of Torquay from the hotel but if you came by train the train station was less than 5 minutes away.
There was nothing not to like.

We loved everything about this Hotel.. Trevor and Kim are very hospitable and extremely friendly. The hotel was spotlessly clean and our groundfloor rooms (bedroom and sitting room) were outstanding and of a very high standard in facilities and decor as was the whole hotel. The lounge area was beautiful and there was a very well stocked "honesty bar" The breakfast was exceptional with lots of choices and top service from Trevor. We had a lovely suprise of a delicious cream tea in our room on our return one day.

Quite simply faultless. Superb service, rooms very comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The effort that Kim and Trevor go to, to make you welcome is second to none.
Breakfasts simply excellent and nothing is to much trouble, not to mention the afternoon treats.
If you are in Torquay this is the place to stay. Great location, and close to the railway station which makes it very easy to get around the English Riviera.

Kim & Trevor could not have been more accommodating, they were truly great hosts. I'm not sure about value for money because my other half paid for it so I don't know the cost.
Breakfasts were great, regardless whether you had cooked or not.
Thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Torquay.
The only thing I didn't like was the colour of the outside of the building - it was bright yellow! At least the inside wasn't garish!. If the colour of the outside is the only criticism I have, it speaks volumes for how well the hosts are doing.

This is an amazing Guest House , Kim and Trevor are the perfect hosts. We were warmly greeted with a cup of tea and biscuits when we arrived. It is the place to stay in Torquay , the setting is beautiful, the room is extremely comfortable and super clean, the location is exceptional and the hosts are superb. The breakfast is excellent with a wide range of choices. I understand why they won an award! The attention to details to ensure your are comfortable at their home is first class. We were so well received, and Kim and Trevor contacted us to advise us on restaurants and places to visit.
Easy walk to the town and the sea. I highly recommend this fantastic Guest House. Thank you so much and we cannot wait to come back.

The greeting when we arrived was amazing so warm and welcoming. Room was spotless. It was a short walk into town. Would definitely recommend staying at the Elmdene and will be returning in the near future.

Everything - hosts are wonderful and friendly. Room was spacious and immaculate. Breakfast was delicious. Free parking on site in a quiet location just away from the seafront. A perfect stay.
