We liked everything! We were lucky enough to get an upgrade to a fabulous suite with stunning sea views, but even without that, everything was really good. Very friendly, helpful, and polite staff, great selection, and good quality food at the breakfast buffet. The inside bar is extremely stylish and relaxing with very nice wines and beer for a reasonable price.
Everywhere was spotlessly clean and in good condition.
The location is perfect, right on the beautiful beaches with a short private pathway down.
It is useful to have an indoor as well as an outdoor pool for cooler weather days.
There is plenty of free parking in the pleasant grounds.
We have stayed at several different places in Alvor, including two other Pestanas, but Alvor Praia Premium is the best by far, and I would happily recommend it.
The only tiny thing is that the indoor pool is rather a strange shape, which makes swimming lengths rather awkward, but that in no way detracted from our stay.

awesome elevator to beach from pool. nice place to hang during poor weather condition with saunas and inside pool. great Atlantis restaurant down on the beach. make a reservation ASAP
too far from Lagos. Full bed was well worn. mosquitoes got in the room when the maid left the slider open. AC was not adequate to cool the room

Incredible location - couldn’t be nicer having a sea view room (really worthwhile booking sea view!). Hotel facilities are brilliant (swimming pool is great, tennis courts, access to beach is seamless (1 minute), pool table, spa, shop, poolside bar etc). The staff are fantastic. Breakfest is a dream. Hotel is clean and elegant.
Hotel could seek to hold more entertainment for guests at night time - music was live in the bar 2 nights which was great.
Sauna and steam room could be hotter but when it’s summer, your probably not going to spend your time here!!

Die Lage etwas außerhalb der Stadt, dafür direkt am Strand mit sehr schönen fußläufigen Buchten!
Der 70er Jahre-Bau ist schon ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen, alles etwas „alt“.

It has a nice pool and located right beside the beautiful beach
1. There was never any free beds at the pool (people reserve them with towels and don’t appear for hours!) not good enough as we had to go to the beach most days and pay for beds
2. The rooms are not cleaned sufficiently! We had to ask for more towels and conditioner
3. It’s definitely not 5 star standard. The price we paid should reflect better quality
4. You have to get a taxi to Alvor as it’s a little out but it’s not that expensive
5. There is not enough choice for dining in the evening so we chose to eat out every night

The staff was super helpful and very friendly.
The facilities are quite old and in need of renovation.
The room service menu after 10pm is absolutely horrible. Given that that particular service is one of the reasons for the attribution of a fifth start, it was utterly disappointing.

Fantastic position, direct access to the beach, amazing view, close to turistic attractions and golf courses. Rooms at 6th floor have an amazing view on the sea.
Hotel needs some renovation for beeing a 5 starts hotel, but in general was nice. The service at bar and restaurant needs to be improved. If you open a room account, the pool bar acqua restaurant charges hidden 10% of tips always, without asking or telling you, very bad practice.

Absolutely loved the place. It was a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere and we were made to feel very welcomed by the staff.

The hotel is a classic and you won't find any better in the surrounding space. The breakfast is amazing and the staff is always there to help
It's a bit old. You can see some age signs inside the rooms.
You will be a bit out of town and need a car or a lot of walking (3Km) to get to the main points of the town.

Great staff throughout the hotel, really friendly and helpful, always smiling. Hotel is in a superb location, access straight onto beautiful beach and easy access to Alvor in the evening. Sea view rooms well worth getting. Very nice breakfast and pool bar food really good too. A great hotel all round.
Only disappointment, which perhaps falls more on the guests than the hotel, was the sunbeds at the pool. Whilst plentiful & pool staff really helpful, people were getting up before sunrise to put their towels on the sunbeds and very often they would be there all day unoccupied until they might want to use the pool hours later. We were a family of six but often couldn't even get one sunbed. I would suggest the hotel try and come up with a system or stronger enforcement for this not to happen. Just a bit frustrating...but certainly didn't take away from a great holiday.

Views of the ocean and the pool area.
The hotel got our request wrong. Requested 2single beds but then after complaining about double bed, they added a basic additional spring bed. Expected more from a 5 star. They moved us to a 2single bed room on the last night.
The rooms are a bit old, older finishings.

The location overlooking the fabulous beach is unbeatable. Hotel facilities are 10/10. All staff were friendly, helpful and polite. Had a wonderful massage in the spa. Plenty of sunbeds around the pool. Sea view room was spacious and clean.

The staff was extremely attentive, caring, kind and professional. They really made us feel welcome and well looked after at any moment during the stay.
Great location a few steps from a beautiful beach.
The hotel feels a bit old and tired. The pool area is very good, but the room and common spaces are calling for renovations.

The beds were uncomfortable, decor was dated, gym is small, not air conditioned and beside a heated indoor pool (so very over heated).

Location was perfect beside the beach. Breakfast was great for the kids and great selection for all.
It would have been nice to have vending machines, especially for bottles of water. It was hard to get water unless you were prepared to pay 4 times more than you would in the town. We had a baby with us and depended on a lot of water for his bottles and food. Also, the connected room wasn't available for us when we arrived. We ended up having one adult in a single room paying twice as much as originally planned. The hotel couldn't help us with the cost because we went through booking.com and when we contacted them they wouldn't help. This would turn me off booking through this site in the future.

One of the best hotels we have stayed at, the hotel staff were exceptional. Breakfast was a delight with multiple choices that was varied daily. The hotel had so many facilities that we spent much more time there than we had planned.
While we were staying the evening meal was 4 or 5 courses at 35 euros but didn't come with a glass of something to wash it down with.
