I was very pleased that the bar was open until 2 am. The staff were very friendly and I enjoyed the overall vibe.

Facilities were rundown and less than clean. The bathroom was soaken when the shower went on. Breakfast was average. £164pounds for this is disgraceful and purely money grabbing. I would not recommend this Hotel

Very dim lighting in reception and in the hallways. Bedside light switches were difficult to find. No handrails in shower.

Location was great. Room was good size and bright, with fab shower!

No food during the day. Only being allowed to pay by card- no cash allowed. No one advised when checking in about room refreshing, had to chase up fresh towels etc. Had signed up as a "friend" don't know if I received anything I had been offered as wasn't talked about either- but staff were pleasant.

The Hotel is right next to the bus and train stations and many great pubs/restaurants. The room was comfortable and quiet, good value for money. Free coffee was available for guests at the receiption, which we enjoyed couple times to warm up between two outdoor programmes. There were also some maps provided with hiking trails which I found very thoughtful.

I have really bad experiences with staff entering my hotel room, I got items stolen from me before, so I am frustrated that our room was entered without our permission. When checking in I have been told that cleaning is done on request only. We only stayed for a couple days, and needless to say, I did not ask for that cleaning. Also, there was no "do not disturb" card provided, and there are no safes in the rooms. So one day we returned to the hotel acknowledging the room is tidied up, triggering some panic if anything was stolen. We did not have any valuables left in the room this time, so I don`t know if there was any malicious intent or a miscommunication at the reception. But whoever cleaned the room, they kindly opened the windows, and left them open - it was 4 degrees outside, so as you can imagine, the room got very cold till late night when we returned to the hotel room. There is only one electric heater in the room, which is rather small as well, so it took a while to achieve a convenient room temperature again. Other than this, I would still return to this hotel, it is a decent choice for this price, and this was a relatively small inconveneince compared to all of the positive things.

it was very dark depressing...too much like a nightclub. One of the barmen acted like he was in a nightclub with authority to speak and act like he was a rude bouncer/manager

We were told we would get a double room but on check in was only 2 singles available beds were so uncomfortable went for cooked breakfast it was cold

Room was modern and really cosy. The bed was so comfy! Loved the big shower and the handy clothes rail/luggage shelf. The hair dryer although it’s tied to the wall was powerful and worked well. Didn’t have the breakfast, but loved that check out could be as late as 12pm! Great for when you’re in town for a late night catch up with friends. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Hair dryer is tied to the wall with its cord - I understand why but they didn’t really take the user’s height into account. I’m a 5 foot 7 female with a lot of hair and I couldn’t lift the hair dryer high enough to reach the top/back of my head (whilst in a standing position)! This was just a minor annoyance. Sound proofing between rooms is non existent - I was woken multiple times by a VERY loud snorer but that’s not really the fault of the hotel.
