Location was excellent, near a very good laundromat, easy walk to train. Our room had an air conditioner. Had a restaurant and bar on site. We enjoyed our dinner in the restaurant. There was a front desk which was good for luggage storage. Very good breakfast.
Shower in bathroom was cramped. The curved door was off its hinge, so hard to open and close. Otherwise the bathroom was modern and nice.

Room was excellent, clean. large, very well appointed with coffee machine and complementary sherry. Staff were helpful and cheerful despite being under tremendous pressure. dinner and breakfast were good.

I loved the authentic English pub feel. The bed was comfy and food was amazing!
I missed having a refrigerator in my room as I prefer cold drinks.

The location couldn’t be better, right on the High Street and walkable to the train station and the bus stops! All the staff I dealt with were really great, from check in to dinner service to breakfast. Breakfast was amazing, good choice of cold buffet and then hot breakfast to order.
I hadn’t realised that some rooms were in an annexe - but this was actually great as meant my room was really quiet. You need to cross an outdoor courtyard/car park to get from the annex to the hotel for meals etc, which could be an issue if you have kids so just one to be aware of. The room itself was great, really spacious and lots of little touches like plenty of coffee capsules for the coffee machine and even non-dairy milk sachets.
There was a piece of artwork in my room that was a cartoon with a boobs/jugs joke. I completely appreciate some people would find this nostalgic and amusing, but to me it was crass and sexist. I just found it a really bizarre choice to put up in a hotel room as it obviously could risk being offensive to some guests? I did mention this to the staff member on check out too.
So in particular if you are coming with kids/young teens I wouldn’t recommend room 31 as the artwork is inappropriate. But otherwise it’s a really lovely place to stay!

Great breakfast and service. Location in center of town. Close to train station and bus routes made travel easy and efficient. Enjoyed my stay.
Housekeeping did not come to our room though we hung sign on door. Not sure what happened there.

The hotel was very well run and organised . The staff were all of a high standard and very good at their jobs. The food was lovely , very well prepared and presented. Our room was perfect very clean and had everything we needed .

Breakfast was AMAZING. Staff was super nice. The room was absolutely comfortable. There was tea, coffee, cookies and water. The bathroom shower was the best after a long and rather chilly and rainy day. We loved everything!

The bed - I think my mattress may have been slightly past its sell-by date... I had springs 'boinging' into me.

The staff were without exception, friendly and accommodating. A very nice atmosphere as a result. The food was of a high quality with excellent choices for breakfast and evening meals. The bedroom was comfortable and facilities modern.

Breakfast and evening meal was very good and the staff in the hotel pleasant and friendly.
We stayed in one of the bedrooms adjacent to the hotel car park which was too hot as the heating controls on the radiator did not work also the plumbing of the bathrooms in both of the adjacent rooms to ours where very noisy.

Location was fantastic! Breakfast was great with a large selection of hot and cold options.
Radiator was leaking in the bathroom, and there were a number of scuff marks and scratches that could have been removed/cleaned.

Breakfast good, well organised and managed. Location was excellent and parking was easy.
The hotel room in which we stayed was very worn and very tired. The windows were not cleaned for months it would appear. The furnishings were worn and old. The bed was an old divan, maybe 10 plus years. The shower was a bad DIY job, grubby with sealer slapped on, looked terrible. The carpet up the stairs was badly worn as was that in the bedroom. Paintwork was in bad need of a professional job.

Courtyard room was good with nice in room tea/coffee/refreshments. Bathroom equipped with toiletries and fluffy towels.
Good selection for buffet and cooked breakfast - very tasty. Restaurant providing a good selection and dinner was excellent. Ample parking spaces. Hotel in the heart of the town with many small shops and eateries.
Telephone was out of order meaning we could not ring Reception. The sensor near the inside of the door of the room resulted in the downlighter coming on and flashing regularly which was distracting during the night. This was addressed by the Night Manager.
