What an incredible place to stay. The location is picturesque - views over the Dordogne. Food at Le Terrasse was wonderful (the chef did the children lasagna which was a really lovely touch). The staff were so very friendly - a wonderfully family run business who do the extra mile. We will be back!

La Terrasse is an absolutely beautiful old fortified chateau hotel in an absolutely gorgeous setting. The rooms are extremely comfortable, and provide modern facilities within utterly charming castle rooms. The restaurant offers excellent classic french cuisine and the service is very friendly and very professional. If you visit in the summer you can eat on the terrace with gorgeous views over the river and valley. We stay every year and can’t wait for our next visit!

Beautiful and characterful premises right on the river and with a friendly welcome from all of the staff, even the kitchen staff whom we bumped into outside the hotel a few times. We had a lovely meal on the terrace the first evening and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

I couldn't really fault the hotel staff at all. But the ambience suffered a little from the age and profile of other guests - we are not spring chickens ourselves but the breakfast was like eating in a church with not a sound from any of the other couples there. I mean I wasn't looking for a party atmosphere and maybe when it is busier (this was soon after the relaxation of curfew etc) things are a bit more sociable.

The hotel is a remarkable place to stay with a high level of comfort and an outdoor swimming pool. Our room was spacious with nice interior. The restaurant is one of the best we have been to during our 2 weeks of traveling. The dinner terrace has a great view on the river side.

The place does not have a bar, so there is no refreshment service between lunch and dinner time (2 p.m. - 7.30 p.m.). At such a high level place we would have expected a restaurant service not beeing so limited to a fixed lunch and dinner time schedule. Some more personell capacity would certainly help, especially to handle the breakfast service.
