Great location, with 2 golf courses walking distance from the hotel. One being Royal Troon. Lodge room was excellent, a walk up to the main hotel where you can read up on Johnnie Walker and the whisky journey, the cabinet showing you a variety of tipples to quench your thirst.

Location was fabulous and the grounds were beautiful.

Sorry to say but dinner prices were rather high in relation to the food received.

-7c outside and the lodge I stayed in never warmed up felt cold and damp, didn’t feel like there was insulation to trap in the heat from the radiators ,would have scored higher except for this

Stayed for Christmas in a Mews room which was comfortable and warm. Not their fault but the weather was grim and we got soaked every time we went out for a walk, so it was lovely to have warm accommodation and to have a nice hot bath on our return. There was always oodles of hot water. The hospitality tray in the room is nice with cookies, hot chocolate and horlicks as well as tea and coffee. Bottled water is also provided. We were surprised that housekeeping came in on Christmas day and refilled everything and left clean towels. The breakfast was lovely, fresh fruit salad, fruit compote and whole fruits, yoghurts, pastries, muffins, toast, cheese and ham, full cooked breakfast. I particularly enjoyed having smoked salmon for breakfast.

Food was fantastic. Stayed in one of the small cottages with our 3 kids, it was ideal. Staff are extremely helpful.

For 23rd December it was a bit quiet, which was surprising for a high demand hotel, but it was still good

Large modern well furnished room(11). Good bar reasonably priced. Excellent dinner. Very friendly staff.

Not a complaint...waited a little long for breakfast to be served. However the breakfast was piping hot on arrival.

the property was in great condition, very well maintained quality architecture the staff were very friendly and attentive the food was of a very high standard, our room no 11 was warm comfortable large . the Restarant was great , staff were great and had a personal touch with Costumers . I will be back as it was a great night away with my wife. my only concern was the breakfast it was not to the standard I expected this could be better but all in all 4.9 out of five .
