Beautiful old house that has been converted so nicely. The grounds are beautiful, it’s really quiet, the bedroom was so comfy and beautifully decorated.

Unhelpful staff, early 1990-style decoration, a noicy fan that went on early in the morning just outside my roomm, a terrace that was basically a stone floor and some weed (see photo).

Staff were very friendly and efficient. They had time to chat and were attentive and polite. Our room was outstanding. Very comfortable indeed. I loved the roll top bath and my partner loved the walk in rainfall shower. Breakfast was delicious.

Most of the jets in the hydro pool weren't working. Artificial flowers around the dining area are a little tacky.

Staff were lovely and hotel is nice, however found the hotel quite pricey for what it was and also having to pay for the spa on top which is an extra £30 for 2 of you.

We were slightly disappointed that the Bob's bistro menu stopped at 5pm as we had a small baby with us and did not fancy a la carte but there was no other option, so we ended up skipping dinner altogether. Again, found it a bit cheeky that we had to pay to use spa on top of £150 room. The room was ok but slightly.tired and old.

There wasn’t much here to like. The location perhaps, the rest I was so disappointed with. I left feeling cheated out of my money, and my time.

The rooms were so outdated, they weren’t only outdated, they were dirty, basic and poorly kept. The beds were so uncomfortable and older than me. I came here with my partner for a relaxing night away together for his birthday, but we spent the entire night feeling disappointed and awkward, whilst sleeping in two single beds. The bathroom was dirty and the shower cubicle was falling apart. There were cobwebs and flies around the windows and the ceiling beams. The decor was really distasteful and didn’t compliment the building or serve it any dignity. The staff at breakfast were rude and disinterested. The food was okay but we were so put-off by the way that we were spoken to and treated, that by the time it eventually came out to us, we were no longer hungry. So, if you enjoy spending £250 for a really bad room in a loft, and you’re happy to pay over £40 for a painfully basic cheeseboard and two small glasses of wine, then this is the place for you!

The food

It’s a beautiful Georgian country house hotel. Some of the decor in the bedroom was slightly strange . Comfortable beds great bathroom . Could do with bottles of water as your not near any shops . Super friendly staff lovely breakfast.

Need glasses in the room and water would be good . Our room was quite dark and some of the decor is slightly strange.

Beautiful setting, very nice food

Dining room was being moved. The place felt like a building site- we should have been warned this was the case or given a discount. Hairdryer and costume spinner in spa were broken. Changing rooms were very small. Booking through you meant we had to pay a £60 top up to use spa- you did not make this clear

Very well kept hotel, great service staff and clean rooms with beautiful individual features to each room. Spa facilities beautiful, peaceful and relaxing.

Price of a double gin was eye watering. Some of the jets in the jacuzzi weren’t working.

The breakfast was just run off the mill nothing special just made to look good . I asked for a couple more English breakfast tea bags for the room they were given to me on a saucer unwrapped!! Don’t think I’ve had unwrapped tea bags in a hotel room for years not even the cheapest of places!!

The spa is amazing. The deluxe room is so luxurious. With a door direct to the swimming pool. Nice breakfast.

The price, was very expensive.

A very good welcome which set the tone for the whole visit. Staff most attentive. Very quiet room. The grounds in which the hotel is set are maginificent and extensive. The new management just in place are clearly keen to look after guests and encourage their return. Dinner offered a good choice and was tasty. Breakfast was good value and offered good variety. We definitely shall return.

Bed would have benefitted from a firmer base. The hotel is under new management who are keen to spruce up some of the more tired decoration, which will be helpful.
