Beautiful grounds. Great staff except for 1 woman during check in. She was very hard line with no understanding. I reserved 3 rooms. 1 room was in a different building. She would not move this room until the following day. Other families had same issue. Good nightly entertainment.

No fans in restaurant’s. Need more umbrellas around the large pool for sun protection. More fans needed in most buildings, sitting areas.

We loved the area, breakfast and lunch where the best, although very little selection for kids.

The ice makers did not work on the premises and the mini refrigerators did not work in none of the 8 rooms we had for the family.

Cost

Hotels lack of attention to detail. Cozumel is a beautiful place, everything else should be just as beautiful and not just half ass

comfortable bed, and in general great room. all inclusive so you can just relax either in the pool or in the beach with a margarita in your hands. very nice gym.

the food of the buffet is not the best but it is good enough. we wanted to prolong our staying for one night but their rules didn’t allow us to do so because the minimum booking is for 2 nights.

The location was good and the staff kept up with the beaches. The food selection was also very nice as well as good entertainment at night. I felt safe in the area with a guard being at the gate.

There was a miscommunication and we were not told about the perks we should have received as a royal member so it was a bit of a waste of money to spend extra on perks we did not receive.

We liked the grounds.

My wife got sick for 3 of the 6 days...most likely from the lettuce or some other food born illness. Many of the people at the Occidental did too...there is an epidemic of illness going on there.

the staff was welcoming

- The majority of the people staying at ressort was sick (Noro Virus), the head management acknowledged the situation and remained inactive. Staff used face masks and hand sanitizer only the last day of our stay although it has been an ongoing situation for weeks (at least). when we asked to the lead management, the only “solution” was to do an early check out and leave - Salt Water shower - No running water for two consecutive days (an essential service when people comes from the beach and are sick) : no shower and no toilet ; the public’s ones were filled to the brim - Food was very poor at best and the freshness questionable - Towels, bedsheets , … nothing was clean. - AC was not working and the TV had a line in the middle

Wonderful location. The hotel consists of several small building connected by winding paths. Situated in a forest with nature all around - plenty of green and wildlife. The food is nice and drinks we’re also very good. particularly the cocktails from the pool bar. Good service from sun loungers at the pool and on the beach. The steaks in the speciality Mexican restaurant were tasty. The room was a good size with lovely bathroom and well stocked minibar.

The staff at the dive center attached to the hotel were rude and unprofessional when I asked for the scuba trial that was advertised. They seemed to resent taking a complete beginner into the pool for free rather instead of being in the sea. We dived with a more professional center a short drive away from the hotel instead. The beach was good but small. It looks as though it has been eroded quite a lot from storms. More bar options in the evening would be good - can the poolside bar stay open for longer? Install covered trash cans outdoors! We spotted one of the island’s critically endangered Coatis eating used napkins and other junk from one of the open trash bins in the evening.

My Group and I loved our stay the Occidental Cozumel. The rooms were beautifully appointed, the food choices fantastic, the pools and beach beautiful to swim in. The staff at our Reception area in the Royal Level (Cecilia, Odalys and Mayra) were amazing with respect to information, wifi assistance with one of the Group's phones, check-out. I would happily return. Thank you again :)
