Varied and excellent

Our favorite stay of a 1 month trip. The hosts were wonderful and very helpful. Breakfast in the garden was excellant. We did get dinner one night and it was one of the best meals we had the whole 1 month trip. The town itself is charming. Parking our car was super easy and free. Highly recommend.

We were there during a heat wave and no AC but of course not in the hosts control. The room did have a ceiling fan which worked well.

We only stayed 1 night, but it was a very memorable experience, if you go, you must take advantage of the evening meal option, but please book in advance, it’s like having a private Michelin star chef cooking you meal, but with all the local knowledge, in a dining room full of character, and a fully working well. We are on a 2 week tour of France and the Basque region of Spain, and the meal, service, ambiance here was better than the best elsewhere, and at a fraction of the cost.

Breakfast was delicious and presented beautifully. Dinner was lovely with lively conversation with guests and hosts. A rare experience. Monsieur and Madame did everything possible to make us comfortable

Old beautiful house, very clean and comfortable . Great owners: despite being from Nederland, they communicate very well in French. They are very present and at the same time very discret. Nico has a great knowledge about the region history and cooks refined and tasty meals. We had a great dinner and a nice breakfast. We will come back and recommend the place to our friends!!!

Something had gone awry with Booking's system and the Dutch owner, who by all other accounts, is a charming fellow, was having a bad day. Anyway, all was resolved, and the next day his lady wife did us a super breakfast.

We stayed for one night and only regretted not to stay more. It's a lovely place and the hosts are discret, yet available. Despite high temperatures outside, the room was fresh. The breakfast was perfect, the hosts even had a lactose free alternative for me, I appreciated the thought. We highly recommend La Maison au Puits and plan on going back. We want to experience the dinner as well!
