Location was perfect. Nice big rooms, facilities were very clean and comfortable. Friendly, helpful staff.

Very dated and tired, would be absolutely beautiful if renovated. (Decorated and new carpets).

It could have curtains in the room as daylight shone threw the sides of blinds.

This is our 4th time staying at the York we had a great time. Very good value for money. Great Location. Staff were Amazing, very Attentive and Helpful.

The only things I would say is that the Hairdryer did not work in our room (208) and as I told the staff one of our bed sheets had a bright yellow stain on it. They were clean sheets just obviously needed some stain remover on it. Also the breakfast on the first day was quite watery and undercooked. However, the next breakfast was better. I have ate at the York restuarant quite a few times and never had a bad meal....However, One of our evening meals wasn't Great I had the full rack of ribs an it was very chewy and fatty I was asked how the meal was an said it was fine but I hadn't started the ribs yet. Spoke to staff after an they took the cheese cake off my bill but really I feel the money for the ribs should have been taken off as I did not eat them I had 2 or 3 an ate the coleslaw an wedges as I was hungry. . I would definitely stay here again as its good value for money an the staff are Brilliant but I was put off the restaurant a little bit.

Location on the seafront was perfect. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and a lovely sea view. Most of the staff were great (although a few were rude and embarrassed customers in the restaurant).

Catering - breakfast was limited. We only wanted a small breakfast, eg. Egg on toast + cereal, there were no boiled/scrambled eggs, no pastries; croissants, bagels, etc. There were no yoghurts. No cold meats, cheeses, etc. From the hot buffet, we only had one egg each, yet many residents were turned away from the buffet for wanting too many items, surely these customers balance each other, why be so restrictive? The toaster was not great! We had to wait ages for the fried eggs to be restocked (about 20 minutes), the toast got cold. The evening meal, was not prepared to order, steak was very tough, chips were served instead of new potatoes although the chips were very nice. Other nearby customers also had wrong orders served or problems with their food. We witnessed several complaints and wrong/poor service in the restaurant at both breakfast and evening meals and found some of the staff to be slightly rude (a few other customers agreed). Many others were great.
