This was by far one of the best places we’ve enjoyed View and sound of crashing surf was spectacular Relaxing and exhilarating at the same time. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay in Anne's Poipu Shores Penthouse Condo. The view is so amazing from the lanai, the master bedroom, the kitchen/dining room and the living area. Anne was very quick to answer any questions that I had. The staff at Poipu Shores was stellar. Always helpful with a smile on their faces. I would definitely stay here again. Mahalo, Anne!

The pictures don’t do it justice. Amazing view and the constantly crashing waves makes it even better. If there is one knock it’s the pool for the complex. It drops off pretty quickly so you need some sort of floatie. It’s a great location to everything.

I'll start with the pro's of this place, and there were plenty. The view's from 406A are quite simply, ridiculous. Breathtaking views up and down the southwest side of the island. The sound of the ocean against the rocks echoing through the condo is a great thing to hear while staying here. The views from the kitchen are panoramic of the ocean, mountain and all of the "gardens" Kauai has to offer. The pool at this place is amazing, hanging over the ocean with countless turtles swimming below all day every day. All of the cons of this place are annoying, because they are easily fixed. Firstly, this place needs updating in a catastrophic way. The furniture is surely late 90's, wicker style with glass that gets covered in a mixture of salt and humid air, and the white arm chairs are absolutely filthy. The L shapped coach smells horrible and feels grungy, and the outside patio furniture is very old, basic and not very comofrotable. Looking down at the neighbors below, with their new patio furniture made you wish this place followed suit. The kitchen appliances are also old and dated, the fridge has no cold water or ice dispenser and is fairly small. The oven door doesn't even close all the way, so the heat just escapes into the kitchen which heats up the kitchen. I reached out to anne to address, and she did say the range was already supposed to be replaced, but she's waiting on property management to install. The beach chairs and cooler that were provided were also old and needing replacing. The cooler handle was broken, and fixed with red duct tape, and the chairs were rusty and broken. Anne also was attentive to those issues, and actually new chairs arrived the next day. The biggest complaint by far came from my in-laws who we gave the master bedroom too. First, the mattress in the master is lumpy and worn, and like the queen mattress in the smaller bedroom, needs to be replaced, desperately. There are also no curtains whatsoever in the master, which i understand allows for an incredible view, but some people like sleeping past sunrise. Towels, shampoo and soap have a very motel 6 feel. Sample sizes only, and no more than 1 towel per guest was provided. We had a great time on our trip and our love for Kauai is strong. I just feel like this place could easily be a 5 star stay, and i'm having to struggle with whether to give it 4 stars, or 3. Put a few bucks back in to it, get new furniture, new mattresses, and it's a 5 star place.

Spacious, well laid out and perfectly finished, this unit was created with loving attention to detail. It is situated as close to the ocean as you can get and has extensive views of the Poipu beaches

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the penthouse apartment at Poipu Shores. Location was perfect - a quick walk from Popui beach (and the turtles!) with stunning oceanfront sunset views from the large balcony. We saw turtles, whales and dolphins all from the comfort of the balcony. Apartment is well appointed — shower and bathroom en suite for each bedroom, which was nice. Note that the third bedroom has a small bed and can sleep only 1. Front desk staff were responsive and helpful. The condo complex has a great pool, which was heated (nice touch for winter). Dramatic setting of the pool was also fun — with waves crashing on the rocks below! Highly recommended!

My family loved staying here. The best feature was being right on the ocean. I was going to rent something cheaper inland, but my family talked me into stepping up to stay here. The views were amazing. We saw whales, seals, and sharks without ever leaving the lanai. Plus beautiful sunsets and the moon reflecting on the ocean. And the sounds of the crashing waves were the best white noise sound machine for sleeping. The unit came as advertised. A bit older and dated, but built with quality. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and we cooked both dinner and breakfast in the unit. It was also a great location for day trip excursions all around the island as well as walking to the nearby beaches.

Poipu Beach area has such a chill vibe. This condo is just a 2 minute walk to many beaches and restaurants. We saw dozens of turtles every day from the balcony, whales, dolphin and seals. No joke! The sunsets are unreal and the sound of the waves are amazing!

The location of this unit may be the best on the whole south shore. Spectacular sunsets, huge windows surrounding the whole perimeter of the unit and unlimited views. Waves crashing on the rocks was like nowhere we’ve ever stayed. However, I absolutely wouldn’t stay there without 2 improvements. The unit receives full, direct sun for several hours in the afternoon until sunset. There are no window coverings of any kind and no air conditioning in the main living area so the space gets unbearably hot even with the all the windows open and the fans on. While all the glass is a pure delight in the morning hours, there’s no place to escape the sun in the afternoon, except the 2 smaller bedrooms. After full days of touring and playing outside, we wanted to come back to a cool place to rest before going out to dinner. That simply wasn’t possible. All of the other units in the building appear to have window coverings and after talking with some of the other renters I found that they also had A/C. I don’t understand why the owner has decided not to have these amenities here. A/C should be added but I would say that at least there is A/C in the bedrooms (for $20 extra per night, which we definitely needed for sleeping). I would strongly recommend staying at Poipu Shores because the location can’t be beat. But until improvements are made to this 406A unit, enjoy your vacation by staying in another unit.

Very nice property with fantastic views of ocean , sunset and crashing waves just outside the lanai. Close to beach and great pool on property. Very nice well equipped kitchen. Bedrooms have AC which I highly recommend in summer. Wish we could have stayed longer! Hope to go back in near future.

We have traveled quite a bit and rate the setting of this condo as the very best. In fact, this was our second time staying here. The condo is spacious and well supplied. It’s within easy walking distance to Poipu beach. We really liked the option for air conditioning, especially when sleeping. Only criticism would be that it could be cleaner (especially the kitchen area). Also, requiring pictures of our clearance from Hawaii travel regarding Covid exemption before getting keys added pressure to an already hectic travel day. However, that is understandable. We would highly recommend this condo and location for travelers to Kauai.

Great place. Do not tell you it’s $20 extra a day for air conditioning in the rooms. But it’s worth it. It gets hot with all the window in this beautiful unit. The third bedroom has a small daybed . Does not fit a large person but does have its own bathroom. Pool is nice! Parking was adequate but a little tight for our large suv. Would stay here again!

We have come to Kauai for years and this particular unit is our favorite. The views were incredible and the close proximity of restaurants, beaches, and a pool were a plus.

Spent Christmas week at this property. This condo is clean and well located (short walk to Poipu Beach) with spectacular views, right on the ocean. Kitchen is fairly well stocked with the basics and beach chairs, umbrellas and a cooler were provided. But we had issues. First, no hot water on the first day, which reoccured again later in the week. This was extremely annoying when it came to showering. Turned out the electrical backup switch to the hot water heater (solar) had not been properly turned on. Second, the property is advertised as having 3 bedrooms that accommodates 6 adults. The 3rd bedroom is a tiny office with a day bed that would comfortably fit a SMALL adult (not my 6'2" son) and the pull out trundle is even smaller and, when pulled out, filled the entire floor with no walking space. This 3rd bedroom is appropriate for a child, not an adult. Third, the refrigerator froze our drinks and food, even though we turned it down to the least cool setting. And fourth, the internet was spotty. We had to turn on our hot spots on our phones. We've stayed in several rentals through VRBO or Airbnb and never have had such issues. While we still made the most of our vacation, this property was not worth the substantial amount of money we paid.

Parking is not so good, but everything else was excellent!

Wonderful place! Best views of any place we have ever stayed! Incredible sunsets! We did not want to leave. Sound and view of the waves rolling in was unmatched. Ann, the owner was a joy to communicate with and the on site management made things easy!

The view cannot be matched. The master bedroom is phenomenal. The second bedroom works great for two adults. The third bedroom was okay for the fifth adult in our party, but the mattress and bed seems better suited to a child. It wasn't very comfortable. I don't think it would work to have two adults in that room. We saw sea turtles from our balcony all day every day. Be advised that the air conditioning works ONLY in the bedrooms. You can open all bedroom doors and the ceiling fans will move some air into the living area, but it does not really cool down. During our stay, it was between 85-90 degrees each day and 85-90 percent humidity. We were warm! But the view made even that bearable! All in all, one of our best vacation experiences. We would definitely come back. (Probably during a cooler month!)

The accomodations were great and the view was spectactular. You do need air conditioning if you are going to be there in the summer. I highly recommend the penthouse as it was a wonderful experience. You'll definitely enjoy it.

We had a wonderful stay! The view and balcony is stunning and we enjoyed watching the sea turtles and hearing the crashing waves in the evening. The location was perfect, a 5 minute walk to the beach where we snorkeled and body surfed. The condo was clean and spacious, ideal for our family of 6. Would definitely return!

Overall this place is OLD, uncomfortable and nothing luxurious like we had expected. The day we arrived there was no apology for a broken washer & dryer. Only air conditioning was in the master bedroom where we discovered cockroaches! A single elevator for the entire place and parking was very inconvenient. We felt gouged and very disappointed in that the lady, Ella, at the main desk honestly didn't give a hoot, like we should expect MORE? To pay top dollar for these accommodations we seriously considered leaving but we had prepaid. We will tell everyone we know NOT to ever consider staying here because it was awful. We were here to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and truly it was one of the biggest let down's of our entire trip. Thankfully we spent another week on Maui where we thoroughly enjoyed. Poipu Shores is woefully uncomfortable and very inconvenient all the way around!

The property is clean, well-maintained, private, uncrowded and absolutely beautiful! The location overlooking the Po'ipu shore break is amazing. The view and sounds of surf crashing are mesmerizing, same for the beaches nearby that were fun and well guarded. The pool was fun and the people friendly. Although hot and humid, no air conditioning was needed due to the trade winds. The kitchen was fully stocked and allowed for well-prepared meals but there were plenty of very good restaurants nearby. All the facilities staff and maintenance personnel were very accommodating and friendly! Kauai is an amazing island with a wealth of things to do. All together,this was a great vacation spot!

I would highly recommend this condo. The view is awesome with really your own private blowhole that puts Sprouting Horn to shame. We spent hours on the terrace watching sea turtles and waves crashing. Furnishing and amenities were even better than listed on website. Owner and front office were terrific. Communication was easy and responsive. There was a power outage after hours in 1/2 of the unit and it was taken care of immediately by after hours manager. Mahalo Ann for sharing your condo.

We had a lovely stay here! The condo was extremely well maintained, very clean, well stocked. The office staff was great and helped us quickly with a couple of questions we had. Communication with Anne was great - she was so kind and helpful! The best part of this condo for us was the views. Simply amazing. Waking up, taking coffee to the lanai and watching the waves, the turtles, the beautiful sky! We spent all of our extra time on the lanai, it was fabulous! Having the corner unit was a bonus because it was quiet too. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!!

We loved the view from our condo, 406A. Place had enough room for our family of 6, with lots of windows & Lana’i space. Short walk to beach. Definitely would recommend this place if coming to Kauai.
