The front desk gentleman (I cant remember his name, Scott maybe) checked us in and I have worked in customer service for over 30 years and it was such a joy to witness his genuine customer service. He enquired about my partners birthday and then gave him a lovely bottle of red wine. He was just so genuine and chatty and was a lovely start to our stay. I have always wanted to stay at this property and I was just blown away by how comfortable and inviting the rooms were and the view spectacular. Everything in the room was just lovely and the popcorn and handwritten note for my partners birthday was amazing!!!!

We have been staying at The Palace since Doyle’s days as a pub .. 1980’s with our then little kids… Since Doyle’s we have watched it evolve, and we keep going back to what is my fave place in Sydney to ‘stop over’ … We do soooo much travelling around the world and it tops the warm welcome, wonderful enthusiasts staff. The rooms are spotless with fresh linens and such comfy beds, and it’s quiet. Just love my early morning walks and the cafes, also our must do every time is to catch the ferry to Circular Quay then out to Manly for fish n chips on the beach… Home to Watsons for an arvo chillout and drink, then out for dinner.. Anytime of day is gorgeous looking to the city and feeling grateful to be far away from the maddening mayhem !! Highly recommend 👌

Spacious room with nice decorations

Very noisy at night. Was told music would finish at 9pm, but it continued. Then the staff continued to noisily pack away outdoor furniture and restaurant until 10:30pm. Hard to sleep.

Central location!

Cleaning was very poor, had left over drink bottle lids left on our bedside table and verandah was full of sand. No ventilation in the bathroom made the room very stuffy.

No breakfast service

I’ve usually liked the Watson’s Bay hotel but not in this occasion.

The lift was out of operation with no advance notice. Phone signal was very interrupted and unavailable for calls on several attempts. Photos and prior stay were of a room with more amenity and had a bath, this room was very restrictive. The room overlooked loading zone with a temporary cool room that was extremely loud and would turn on and off. The staff also were being overly boisterous at 11pm and would not respond to a request to keep noise down.
