The breakfast was very good. Each morning a little different but provided individual fruit plates, yoghurt, bread, meats and cheeses, yummy cake freshly made, cereal, and always something new. For example one morning crepes.

Having to pay either cash or bank transfer as no credit card facility. Distance from Sarlat - 9km rather 3 km.

Frederique and Pascal, our hosts, were very welcoming, friendly and informative about things to do and see in the area. We requested to converse in French and they were patient and extremely helpful with corrections and offering alternative phrases, Nice swimming pool with a view of the local château. We had a private terrace which was nice to sit out on in the afternoon/evening.

There was a kitchen that was for the use of guests, but unfortunately this was closed to us due to the Covid restrictions. Having facilities in the room to make tea/coffee would have been an advantage.

La Barde is a bnb at a lovely place surrounded by lovely little dreamy towns. The owners are very friendly and super helpfull with providing tips for activities and restaurants. Room was spacious, bed very comfortable. Breakfast was perfect, owners make a cake every morning. We even got some cake to go when we went canoeing.

We thought we booked a room with a bathtub, but upon arrival the room with bathtub was allready booked.

The breakfast was lovely and we really enjoyed the range of fruit, homemade cake, cheeses and meat.

The main problem was that the Booking.com site described facilities for the room (kitchenette, BBQ, etc) that gave us the impression that it would be possible to prepare small meals for ourselves. That is not permitted at all. This is primarily a lovely Bed and breakfast place and guests are expected to be out during the day and at restaurants in the evening. Once we had understood the misunderstanding, our hosts were most helpful in supporting us to find alternative accommodation that met our needs.

The location was fantastic; the view of the Castle from the swimming pool was amazing. Frédérique and her husband were very helpful and professional. The breakfast was excellent including home-made carrot cake. There were fresh flowers on the breakfast tables. I also appreciated the fact that Frédérique phoned me to confirm that she had received my voicemail message.
