The view from the hotel was to die for. The Rhine was straight across the road. The beds were comfortable, and there were plenty of parking spaces in the car park. Staff were very nice and the choices at the breakfast buffet was god.

When we arrived, the place was locked up and we had to contact the owner. The web site needs updating because the restaurant was closed and remained so for the duration of our stay. The bar was closed for the duration of our stay, but there was an honesty bar with a small selection of drink, open from 6pm to 10pm. The web site states a .6 of a mile walk into the city centre of Sankt Goar, when infact it is 1.3 miles. To sum things up, after a long drive, all we wanted to do was to sit down, have a drink, and eat a nice meal at the side of the Rhine, and this didn't happen, so our aspirations based on the information on the web site were disappointed.

Very nice hotel just across from the Lorelei with a great view of the Rhine. Fantastic breakfast and very accommodating staff. They lent us bikes for the day to ride the path to Bingen and take the ferry back.

Keep your windows closed. The trains run all night (no fault of the hotel, of course).

1. it was a little warm at night- we were a bit uncomfortable. 2. one of our rooms had no soap in the shower. 3. and at check in we never were told the wifi code- and it’s not always easy to find someone to help. we waited until morning to get access to wifi. and even then- half of us(4 total) couldn’t get onto it anyways:(
