Excellent Pub with Rooms on the outskirts of Chesterfield. Well priced rooms in a good Pub Restaurant. Plenty of Car Parking and helpful and friendly staff.

Nothing, it was exactly what we required for our stay.

The staff were absolutely brilliant: cheerful, friendly and helpful. The beds were very comfortable, and there were good sized good quality towels. There were plenty of sockets and USB power points in the room.

Apart from the brilliant staff, this was a very poor product. The hotel is actually a chain pub in a dreary suburban location. It is typical of it's type - no charisma and and a very negative ambience, aside from the cheerfulness of the staff. Someone must have been paid to design the pub interior; they certainly did not earn their money. The food was, to say the least, extremely disappointing, though we heard that there were problems with new staff in the kitchen that night. The breakfast was marginally better than the evening offering, but still not up to much. The room was beyond minimalist - positively austere, and the fittings cheap and nasty. To be fair, there was a kettle and an adequate hospitality tray. One good point was a bath as well as a shower, though the the bathroom boasted a floating toilet seat. The hotel area of the property was superficially clean, but closer examination revealed some less than squeaky clean areas and some stains (including a discomforting red stain in the carpet of our room.) The bathroom seemed to have been wiped over rather than cleaned. Although the basic price was reasonable, the total cost including room, evening meal and breakfast was way above what what the location and the poor offered merited. Overall, this property cannot be recommended.

Good location for what we had planned. Great nights sleep. Super comfy bed and pillows. Clean. Good value. Good breakfast.

On arrival manager was on his own in bar so 25 minute wait to get served and unable to check in until he had staff arrive. Smooth check in after this delay.

Noisy row between couple in adjoining room that went on for 2 hours. Loud TV in another adjoining room.

Very spacey room, include a desk, bed and sofa for extra comfort. Storage space provided and overall excellent.

Wi-Fi kept cutting out but overall, a good place to stay!

Did get locked out of our rooms after getting in late from a wedding. Fortunately staff were still on site to resolve it.
